Venerators all over the world seemed to have made their choice. The people too have made their choice. Joshua could see the view from his Familiars and the Sovereigns. The Ensemble and Seraphs were having a field day at the many bases where Spataro's operations were present. The children were rescued and Final Judgement was able to grant them rest. The kidnapped children's minds were free from the shackles of harrow that they were bound to.
Joshua was walking all the way to the Presidential building where all the officials who had a dealing with Spataro have been put on a wall. Bound by magic.
"We heard your call... I suppose being shackled is not our strong suit. Seems like it took a guy like you to bring us back to our senses." General said as he held his rifle in hand.
"I was a soldier for Aloris and to think that my missions that involved rescuing children that ended up being brought to Spataro's clutches. I am ashamed."
"My guild's mainly veterans of war but most of us never thought it'd be like this. So what do you want to do now?"
"General. This may be a bit... Weird coming from a young guy like me but. If you had more power what would you do with it?"
"The same as I've always done. Rescue works and eliminating threats. Why do you ask?"
"Then if I entrust you with power. Will you help me?"
The General's screen popped up in front of him.
"What's... What's this?"
"My class is Lord of Thorns and my Familiars are one thing but I've not had a human from our world to join my ranks." The General stroked his beard, now thinking about it.
"You know that if you turn into a tyrant I will kill you right?"
"I know and in that event I'd rather die by people I know." The General chuckled.
"Got it. I'll be your ally."
Immediately General Leon Bass fell to his knees, his veins were popping as he coughed out blood.
"Wait. He's fine. It's just... The adjustments... I think."
A famed General during his time in the service of Aloris. A man who fielded many missions both as an in-field commanding officer and during his time as the Supreme Commander of Aloris's Army.
Leader of the specialized Guild : The 7th Division, Gunworks.
Became a Venerator when he was at the age of 50, he's an old man. Despite being in his 60s, the man's still more dangerous than any body else in long range combat and tactics.
Enemies are studied like a book in his eyes.
All of his unique skills have been changed.
Servant of Thorns Skills.
General Leon got back on his feet.
"Damn. Is this what you went through?"
"Yeah. Just that I lost everyone in Mulligan. So... How do you feel?" Leon threw a his rifle to the wall where a few vines grabbed it. Then angled the rifle around like a turret on a swivel.
"How do you choose people to even become a Servant of Thorns?"
"It's from people that I know." Joshua said, seeing how much there was a change that has been made.
"Seems like this is my old uniform back when I was the Supreme Commander. Huh, that's pretty neat. Chain Smoking Shooter makes me immune to cancer and demolition specialist... You've just made me a walking armory. And people under my command get a lot of bonuses? Well what's your orders, Lord?" Leon knelt before Joshua.
"Take care of Spataro's bases at the following locations. No mercy, do what you can to save the kids. But if you need to put them down to protect your men. I understand. They're as dangerous as S-Ranks so expect them to be dangerous."
"Thanks for the ROE. Alright. 7th Brigade, we're moving out."
"Sir!" The Venerators that were under General Leon's command moved out with him. The other Venerators including those from the Union were present. Among them was Lady the Witch of Ruin, she was sitting in the President's chair, with the President of Aloris hanging from the ceiling bound by some magic.
"Ah, Joshua. It's nice to see you."
"Thanks for not killing everyone here."
"Well, your words got all my witches and wizards all riled up. So what's your plan?"
"Nothing but just wreak havoc against them, but... I got an offer for you." Lady lowered her smoking pipe, looking at Joshua with a raised eyebrow.
"An offer? You do know that offers with a witch of ruin is dangerous correct?"
"I know but ruin is all I want." Joshua said, where Lady laughed loudly.
"Then sure." Lady put her pipe aside as magic flowed from all around her, gathering elements altogether then piercing into her skin. Her veins bulged as she grinned from all the power that came into her light. She was laughing from all the power that was piercing into her.
"Oh boy! What kind of power is this?!"
Lady Kastella, or known affectionately by the world as Lady. The Witch of Ruin, she could snap tornadoes to life. She could let magma flow where water was.
Changing and combining elements together.
She's always been enjoying this kind of work.
Familiar Skills
Lady's robes changed to be something a bit more elegant. Easier to move around but what impressed her was the Grimoire of Ruin that was floating around her.
"Ah, so you are the new Apostle of Ruin, a Servant of Thorns. How interesting. You seem to have mastered quite a bit of magic already, though I suppose you wish to learn more don't you?" The grimoire spoke in a feminine voice.
"Oh! A talking Grimoire!"
"Why yes. I am the Grimoire of Ruin, but from where I see dear. You've got enough mana already, just not the spells to use them all. Now you absorb mana where ever you go. I'll be in your care, Oh dear Apostle." Joshua could see the beaming gaze of Lady who was far more excited than a kid in a candy store.
To be clear, it was like the grimoire was flirting with Lady, Joshua left them both alone. When he stepped outside, he looked up to the sky, seeing multiple explosions from nowhere.
"Well. Damn." Joshua said, surprised to the destruction that was happening repeatedly. When a few more Venerators leaped to attack Joshua, he watched as their skin and flesh melted away. Leaving the falling bones to hit him. Turning to dust upon contact.
"Okay then." Joshua put his mask on and looked through the perspective of Leon. Leon was smoking a cigar, firing his rifle and literally bayonet charging his way through the Venerators that were blocking his path. The Spataro's were running, they even sent the kids at him. He took their blows without even flinching. Just smoking his cigar as he put the rifle aside. Looking at the children who wielded daggers that shattered at his uniform.
"General!"
"It's fine. I'll handle the kids. Make sure those low lives don't die easily."
"Yes, sir!" The kids began their assault but Leon pulled a chair, sitting down as he continued to smoke his cigars. The children stopped, then looking at him. Confused, only seeing Leon kill the cigarette.
"It's okay. I won't hurt you. I promise." those words alone brought the children to tears, crying as they fell to their knees. Rubbing their eyes and it made Joshua think. Did the Servant of Thorns have this kind of power? They could dispel something so powerful just like that?
