In the lounge area of the student council room, a dark wooden coffee table stood quietly, its edges softened with a refined design.
The rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafted from the porcein cups, filling the room with a calming atmosphere.
Frey sat silently on the sofa, not refuting the president's words. He had no intention of putting on a brave front and trusted the president's judgment.
"Please, Mr. President, go ahead," Lanqi asked earnestly.
With his enthusiastic and straightforward nature, Lanqi couldn't stand idly by when the school had pressing public issues to address. Especially now that he had joined the Student Management Committee responsible for such matters, his sense of duty and responsibility had only grown stronger.
"Recently, there's an old, small building on campus that urgently needs to be demolished. However, a team that was previously disbanded is still occupying it as their clubroom, despite the safety hazards. I need you two to persuade them to vacate the premises," President Monaster expined slowly to the two new members.
The wooden structure in question used to belong to the club "Spirit of the Fighter." However, due to the team's poor performance in recent years and their over-reliance on brute force while neglecting bance and teamwork, they were downgraded and officially disbanded st year.
Now, the building was being informally occupied by remnants of the team. While both the school and the student council had initially turned a blind eye to these students' emotional attachment to the old clubroom, the situation had become untenable.
Due to years of neglect and the destructive nature of the team's training activities, the building's magical protective wards had deteriorated, and the structure itself had become dangerously dipidated. This was a severe viotion of the *Hutton Kingdom Fire Safety Regutions*.
The building now posed a significant safety risk not only to those inside but also to students passing by. As a result, the school had decided it must be torn down. The Kingdom's Capital Fire Department had been pressuring the school to address the issue and had already issued a demolition permit.
According to regutions, the school was required to complete the demolition within 15 days. Failure to do so would result in fines and public censure.
"The problem is that the remaining members of the 'Spirit of the Fighter' club refuse to accept this. No matter how many notices or safety hazard reports we've sent, they've ignored us completely. And today is the final deadline set by the fire department. Not only do we need to persuade them to vacate, but we also have to assist the Engineering Academy in demolishing the building," Monaster said with a sigh, shaking his head in frustration.
Monaster sympathized with the students' feelings. However, fire safety was paramount, and as the student council president, he had to prioritize the school's reputation and the safety of its students.
During a faculty meeting, Monaster had even proposed allocating funds to repair the building, but the school administration had rejected the idea. They argued that allowing such a viotion of team management rules to set a precedent would lead to endless future problems, with students using this case as an example to demand concessions from the school.
Lanqi nodded as he listened. So, it was a case of evicting stubborn holdouts and addressing a fire safety hazard.
"I understand now, Mr. President. You've found the right person for the job," Lanqi decred confidently, exuding the air of a professional task force member.
His confidence made Huberrian gnce sideways at him. While it was true that Lanqi was well-suited for this task, she couldn't help but feel uneasy about how he might handle it. She was all too familiar with how he operated when fully committed to a cause.
"Very well," Monaster said with satisfaction. "For this task, the school has approved a three-day work leave for the participants, as well as practice credit equivalent to a quarter of a core course. Additionally, if this year's overall work goes smoothly, the student council will receive funding for a mid-term trip and other activities. Our benefits won't be any worse than the top teams in the school. However, this will require everyone's hard work. If this task disrupts your studies, I sincerely apologize."
After briefly introducing Lanqi and Huberrian to the basic operations of the student council, Monaster solemnly nodded to the three first-year students.
The student council's tasks were high-risk but came with equally high rewards. Only students who truly loved the campus and possessed exceptional skills would choose to join.
"Mr. President, there's no need to apologize. Joining this team and serving my fellow students is an honor," Lanqi said, his words brimming with a sense of responsibility reminiscent of when he had vowed to save the demon academy from the brink of closure. His passion was so genuine that no one could doubt its authenticity.
"..."
Huberrian was momentarily at a loss for words. She knew Lanqi too well—this was just an excuse for him to enjoy the school's protection, resources, and privileges while legally skipping csses. He would likely find every possible way to stay in the student council for as long as he could. The idea of this interfering with his studies was ughable.
Frey, on the other hand, simply nodded in agreement. After all, he had already skipped an entire week of csses and had been caught by the Knight Academy Dean at 3:30 a.m. in the Icerite Crown Casino. The dean had unceremoniously dumped him into the student council as a st-ditch effort to keep him in line. This arrangement gave Frey an option to potentially graduate without attending a single css, which suited him just fine. He got along well with Monaster, and the student council room was a comfortable pce to hang out—as long as no one forced him to attend lectures.
"Alright then, Frey, I'll leave it to you to lead the way to the Knight Academy and handle the eviction of that clubroom. You'll also need to assist with the demolition work," Monaster said, patting Frey on the shoulder.
"No problem," Frey replied. He stood up, waved casually, and headed for the door.
Lanqi and Huberrian quickly nodded to Monaster in farewell and followed Frey out.
"Please keep in mind that while the remaining members of 'Spirit of the Fighter' are highly combative and aggressive, they are also very honorable. If you can find a way to communicate with them, it should be possible to mediate the situation. Avoid direct conflict at all costs to prevent escating tensions on campus," Monaster called out, watching the three leave.
"No conflict, rational communication, and resolving the fire safety issue. Got it. I'll handle it perfectly!" Lanqi muttered to himself before turning back to fsh Monaster a bright smile and wave.
The sound of the student council room's metal door opening and closing echoed as the three left.
By the sofa in the lounge area, Vice President Asina stood holding a tray, her expression filled with concern. She gently touched her cheek as she spoke.
"Monaster, are you sure it's okay to send them? That group occupying the building includes a hot-tempered and powerful third-year. If Lanqi provokes them, it could lead to a serious campus incident."
"Have faith in the newcomers' abilities," Monaster replied calmly. He returned to his desk, opened a folder, and focused on the stack of reports awaiting his attention.
