The journey to the FRS was about as peaceful and boring as all the others were, Adam had taken up listening to the radio the entire trip. Salvatore had slept through more than half of it all day, lucky bastard. But Adam was none too bothered, he was making great profits and helping some folks build a new home. However by now it was dark, the sun had mostly set and the moon was visible in the sky, now in its waning phase. The sky was cloudy, the air and breeze was pleasant, and Adam had to rely on the headlights of the APC to see the road.
Perhaps it's because of this he did not see the Behemoth before it was too late.
Boom
The sound and force of a heavy metal object hitting the ground right next to the APC rocked the car and caused Adam to swerve at the last minute out of the way of the fire hydrant pole that had hit the ground in front of the APC.
Glancing out the side window he could see a super mutant Behemoth and a handful of other super mutants now ready to fight the APC with what they had on hand. Like usual most of the super mutants had naught more than scrap tools and weapons, but one, larger than the others by about a foot, but still dwarfed by the Behemoth, carried a minigun, and he was already spooling it up.
The sound of hundreds of 5mm rounds ricocheting off the reinforced hull of the APC could be heard as Adam quickly threw the car into reverse and tried to make a break for it. However, since he had no means of seeing behind him, he slammed the APC into a lamppost meant to give visibility to drivers at night. Though now it was doing the opposite, since it had no power.
The APC likely took no damage but that was not the issue, the issue was the fact that it gave the Behemoth time to pull the fire hydrant and long water pole it was attached to out of the crater he created and prepare it for another swing. All the while the other super mutants continued to fire at the APC to no effect. Though it was clear from the sounds of his passengers in the back they were terrified. A few even screamed.
Salvatore decided to do what he could in the only way he knew how, fighting. He popped out the hatch at the top, rifle in hand, and began to lay into the super mutants. His goal was not to kill them but to disable them, hitting joints and hands diligently to prevent them from doing any real damage if they worked smarter. The Behemoth on the other hand he was leaving to Adam. The problem was Adam had no means to handle it either.
He threw the car into drive again and narrowly avoided another swing by the club, however because of where the Behemoth was standing it blocked the road he needed to take to escape. Adam deeply regretted now that he had not gone to Midway sooner to buy ammo for his cannons. He was so convinced it would not be a problem that life had to throw him an absurd curveball.
However Adam was not out of options. So, with his heart manifesting the outcome he hoped for, he threw it into reverse, lined up the APC, and then threw it into drive full speed and rammed it right into the center mass of the Behemoth.

The behemoth was carried on the hood of the APC for a few hundred feet, completely blocking all vision Adam had of the situation in front of him until the car came to a sudden and rather abrupt stop as the Behemoth crashed full force into the wall of a building.
Salvatore was barely able to stay in the APC by holding on for dear life and then withdrew inside the hatch as soon as it stopped moving.
“You bought yourself time kid! Throw it in reverse and get the hell out of here!” Salvatore yelled. Adam saw no reason to disagree so he quickly threw the car in reverse, leaving the Behemoth stunned against the wall for a few moments until it fell over, in pain, but clearly not dead, and then stepped on the accelerator and drove past the Behemoth with as much speed as the APC could muster to get out of the area quickly.
As the sounds of the angry super mutants and the few scattered bullets sank into the distance Adam breathed a sigh of relief at the knowledge they had gotten away.
“Good driving kid.” Salvatore said, sighing in relief as well.”
“Good shooting.” Adam said back with a nod. “I thought you said in the past that Behemoths were exceptionally rare.”
“I did.” Salvatore confirmed. “But not unheard of. It's the East kid, the FEV continues to mutate super mutants to this day, so long as the Eastern strain super mutants exist there will always be new Behemoths growing. Don’t ask me how it works, I'm not a geneticist, but they don’t all grow at the same rate and…” Salvatore said before petering off and then looking away for a moment. “I heard that the super mutants still capture folks sometimes and bring them to vats filled with FEV that only they know about to increase their number.”
“And no one has found these vats and destroyed them?” Adam asked, incredulously.
“No, because no one knows where they are. The super mutants do, but they don’t talk, nor do they torture well, some even speculate they know how to make the FEV themselves… or at least some do, which is an even more terrifying thought.” Adam shook his head and frowned.
“Is that Behemoth going to be a problem for others?” Adam asked, curious.
“Probably, if someone encounters it.” Salvatore shrugged. “But its not near any settlements I know of and it has an equal chance of heading to War’s camp or where those cultist fuckers live so I don’t particularly care.” Salvatore said with a slightly menacing grin at the end before he turned to look at Adam and noticed his expression. “But, because I know the kind of person you are and I don’t want you to concoct a half assed plan to fight that thing yourself, I promise I will pass along the message about it to the knights the first chance I get while traveling with Chuck. They want to play heroes, let them, ain’t no reason for you to get involved, kid.” Adam looked at Salvatore for a moment and then sighed and nodded.
“Alright, I will let the matter drop. Hopefully it will not cause any issues before it is taken down.”
“Truthfully kid, those mutants were probably looking for a building to squat in, the Behemoth is too large and dumb to go rampaging in the city so likely it will stay at their camp. It's the other super mutants that might cause a bigger problem. But I promise I will pass along the info to the powers at be so you promise me you won't go fight it for no damn reason.” Adam hesitated for a few moments and then sighed a second time.
“Fine, I promise.”
“Good, now, I'm going to go back to napping, wake me up when we get there.” Salvatore said as he got comfy again in his seat, letting the music from Ray’s radio station slowly lull him back to sleep.
