Chapter 11: Winds Drifting

The rain pitter-pattered above the tiled roofs. A wind howled in silence with the question unanswered. Hong Cha giggled and grabbed the cup again. She drank the wine without thinking how it would affect her. She thought she could endure since it wasn't Song Cha Hua who gulped it down. Her cheeks reddened a bit as she filled her cup again.

"Prince Brother, why can't you speak? Talk. It has been so long since the last time I spoke with you." Hong Cha emptied another cup. She took a pause when her head buzzed. Her eyes blurred a bit. "Hm? This wine is quite strong. Anyway, I should head back to my quarters. Prince Brother, good eve."

She stood up and left the folded umbrella. Hong Cha smiled with the raindrops seeping through her clothes. A fragment of recollection entered her thoughts.

Under a lamp, with the rain pouring over her adult self, she stood there motionlessly with her eyelashes fluttering sometimes. Ahead of her, skipping two lamps, two people are hugging each other. She can't see the young man's face but she is sure she knows him. He was embracing a girl in his arms.

"Cha Hua, wait, your umbrella." Lin Xingjin caught up and pulled her to his side with the umbrella above them. She looked at him in confusion. Tears streaming down her face.

"Why does it...hurt?" she asked out loud, placing her fist on her heart. That memory, what does it have? It hurts her. To see that man loving another woman in front of her. Who are they? Who is she?

Suddenly, Lin Xingjin kissed her. Hong Cha froze in place and another fragment appeared. It was the continuation of what she remembered. She was frozen in place to see the two underneath a bright lamp while she stood alone. The umbrella and handbag she was holding fell down with a thud on the wet pavement. Droplets of rain hid her tears as they looked at her. Still, she can't see the man's face clearly.

  "Camellia?"

His voice was deep and enchanting, not even shocked to know she saw him with another woman. Hong Cha smiled sweetly as if she was not in pain.

"B-Brother Sheng..." It was fortunate the rain covered her tears well. Hong Cha suppressed her sobs. "Brother Sheng, I... I'm here. I followed you, see?"

Her recollection ended quickly. Hong Cha felt furious, her chest stuffy. She started reciprocating Lin Xingjin's kiss. Underneath the rain, with elegant lamps around them, they exchanged their feelings of sadness.

"Prince Brother..." she called out with full enchantment. "We can't stay here."

"I... Cha Hua, I didn't mean to." Lin Xingjin became nervous. What is he doing?

"I know. But for now, Prince Brother should come with me to my residence and change clothes."

Hong Cha suggested with a little bit of clarity left in her. Lin Xingjin nodded and followed her. Maids brought a new set of clothes for Lin Xingjin but none of them questioned why he is in a woman's courtyard.

Hong Cha looked at her soaked self. She turned to Lin Xingjin, who removed his outer robe and shirt. Her eyes rounded before quickly looking away.

"Prince Brother! I am still here!" she loathed. Lin Xingjin chuckled. He suddenly held her hand and brought her to the pool in another hall. In the past, he had stayed here for some time, and Song Cha Hua loved to bring him around her palace-like residence. Thus, he knows the residence more than Hong Cha does.

"Cha Hua, clean yourself. You will get sick if you keep these clothes on." he thought of leaving after bringing her here.

Hong Cha loosened her waistband after their silence. She thought he already left. Her robe eventually fell off her shoulders before she stepped into the pool. Hong Cha successfully removed her waistband. She placed it on the pool's edge and saw Lin Xingjin was still out there.

"Prince Brother!" Hong Cha was startled and pulled the robe to cover her inner wear and chest. Why is he still there?!

To her shock, Lin Xingjin stepped closer. He must admit that she can trigger men easily. Her shy face, pink cheeks, developed body, and resisting tone are very alluring. Lin Xingjin must have gone crazy. He wordlessly hugged her in the pool and pressed their lips again. The taste of wine still lingered which kept him from continuing to explore her.

"Ehm! P-Prince Brother!" Hong Cha luckily got away and panted. Is the male lead insane? Isn't this cheating?

"Cha Hua, if I had known." he breathed heavily. Lin Xingjin removed her robe without her resistance. Hong Cha bit her lower lip. Her urges were the same as him for now. What's the use of resisting? Isn't this her mission? To break the main characters apart? Lin Xingjin was satisfied she didn't make it difficult.
