Chapter 10

There were three extra points that it shouldn't have.

He had only noticed these extra points of physique this noon. He doesn't usually open his status panel, so it was only after seeing them that he noticed something strange.

'Let's start from the beginning,' Wang Yun thought.

First, how does he increase his physique?

Because he is a Kryptonian, he can absorb a star's energy to nourish his body. That means it's all because of the sun. Then, then...

The answer hit Wang Yun as his body trembled in mid-air.

One that he hadn't thought about because he cked the ability to fly then...

  "Could it be?" he muttered.

His heartbeat raced. During the past few days, he had always been finding excuses to run on his own just so he could fly. And although he tried to stay low, he did spend a few minutes to half an hour high up in the sky flying on some days. If the sun was what gave him strength, then what would happen if he was closer to it?

He hadn't thought much about how to increase the physique points he earned, mostly because he felt the increase of his physique each day was already ridiculous enough. But now that there was a way, naturally he had to take it!

The incident with the mountain king made him realize that this world wouldn't give him much time to grow. He had to find a way to become much stronger quickly himself!

He couldn't wait for tomorrow because if his theory was right then...

  "Hehe..."

The mountain king would be the first foe he would test his strength on.

For the entire night, he was filled with excitement. In the end, he forced himself to sleep. His body might not need it as days passed, but his mind wasn't indomitable.

Morning brought news that a captain of the outer city guards, a supposed rank 10 warrior, would be sent to deal with the mountain king that had gone out of its territory. It was supposedly the vilge head who first reported it because he was the first person to arrive in the city.

Hearing the news, Wang Yun sighed internally. He wasn't sure what he sighed about. Was it because the danger that nearly killed him and probably destroyed vilges could be resolved so easily? Or was it that even the outer city could casually send out a level of expert that had previously almost killed him?

He didn't know. All he understood was that, truly, even in the outer city, martial artists were really nothing! Only when you became a cultivator did you truly become significant.

Wang Yun tried to find an excuse to go out on his own, but his father wanted him to guide his siblings and his new cousin, Xun Shen, around the city. His mother and uncle wanted to advise against it because they might encounter danger, but his father's eyes held trust in him, and Wang Yun nodded.

At the same time, he cursed. Even in the city, you could still encounter danger?

After thinking about it, it made sense. Although there were officials controlling the outer city, people were still arrogant and with strength, even more so. Hence, the city was no different from a jungle.

Wanting to explore the outer city too, Wang Yun easily agreed. With the kids behind him, they roamed around the city. People with swords behind their backs or spears and shields casually roamed around the city.

The buildings, the mystical beasts pulling the carriages, and most especially the people made the entire scene picturesque. Wang Yun felt like he was looking at an extremely realistic picture of ancient eastern fantasy civilization.

Well, he was. Wang Yun shook his head as he led the kids around.

"Wow, I've never seen so many people!"

"Look look, that man has such a cool staff!"

"There! I recognized that pce! The candies they sell were delicious!"

The siblings chattered excitedly. Even Xun Shen had gotten in better spirits and joined in. By now, it seemed his uncle had talked to him and had stopped calling Xiaosi, sister-in-w and instead called her sister now.

Wang Yun turned his head towards the candy shop and for a moment took a step towards it before seeing its prices and continuing on.

His father had given him copper coins to spend. They had square-shaped holes in the middle. Anyway, he saw the prices were pretty high and couldn't afford them, so he went on, lest they embarrassed themselves.

"Come, let's explore more. In the future, I'll buy you all candies from there, alright?"

  "Alright!"

Soon, they lined up and bought dumplings and sat on a bench, resting after nearly an hour of exploring.

  "This is good!"

  "Mm!"

  "Mine's still hot!"

They were eating some dumplings when little Cai suddenly tripped. His dumpling fell to the ground and spttered onto a person's boots.

The person scrunched up his face in disgust and moved his feet to kick the kid. Wang Yun, who was always watching the siblings, immediately moved.

The person kicked empty air as the kid was suddenly nowhere to be seen. His eyes bulged at what had just happened.

"Sorry for that, sir," Wang Yun said, carrying his brother in his arms as he bowed in apology.

The person stammered, looking startled, and immediately waved his hand. "No, no, it's alright," the man said, quickly leaving.

Wang Yun shook his head at the man as he snorted.

"Wow, how did you do that?"

  "You suddenly, like, disappeared!"

The kids looked at him with admiring eyes as Wang Yun ughed. Soon, however, their little adventure ended as they headed back to the inn. Afterward, Wang Yun found an excuse to be on his own.

Wang Yun flew towards a small mountain in the distance and then headed towards the top. He saw predators on the way, and they had seen him too, but they all ran away.

The wind was powerful at the top. He looked for a pce he could sit before looking towards the sun. He opened his status panel as he sat there, waiting.

Today, he was going to spend the entire day here!

He had already made an excuse, and while his mother and uncle weren't really willing for him to be gone that long, his father had allowed him.

"He's getting older," his father said. "He needs to be able to look out for himself." Of course, Wang Yun knew it was also because of the strength his father had seen in him, so he trusted him.

It took only an hour for him to be bored, however. "I should have brought something to read or something..." Wang Yun sighed as he sat there looking at the scenery before him.

He reckoned he was more than 5 kilometers high from the ground right now. Up to some distance below, he saw a giant wolf chasing after a giant brown pig with his incredible eyesight.

  "That's neat.."

Time passed just like that, and when the st of the sunlight disappeared, Wang Yun was in the air, taking deep breaths to calm himself.

His heart raced with excitement. His fist clenched, containing more strength than before.

He opened his status panel again, which he had already seen this past hour. Still, he couldn't help himself...

  K'el

  Race: Kryptonian

  Css: 0

  Physique: 156

  Abilities:

  Flight

His physique was just 128 this night, yet when the day ended, his physique had increased by 28!

28! That's about 8.4 tons of strength added to him in just a day! Adding in all his physique, he had the strength of 47 tons!

How many days had it been since he had awakened Dean's memories and his physique? Not even a month!

Wang Yun couldn't describe how exhirated he was at becoming stronger. At the same time, he couldn't help but feel a little guilty at feeling it, as he hadn't exactly sweated blood for it.

But hey! Some people have cheats, and he has his!

It seemed he needed to visit the outer city martial hall soon and compare strengths. Wang Yun was excited by the thought when suddenly...

  "How do you fly?"

A woman's voice suddenly sounded, startling him so much he nearly fell.

'How did she sneak up on me?' Wang Yun thought, and he turned towards the speaker. He was stunned. An ethereal woman was floating not far from him. Her face was blurred, and her robes fluttered in the air.

She looked like a ghost fairy.

  "Who are you?"

The fairy didn't respond and seemed to only look at him. For some reason, Wang Yun felt chills as if she were seeing through his soul.

"Interesting..." she muttered before disappearing into the wind.

Just as she disappeared as if she had never appeared, causing Wang Yun to doubt if what had happened was his imagination...

'Cultivators... I really need to be wary of them,' Wang Yun thought, as he experienced the myriad things a cultivator could do.

Soon, his figure also disappeared into the sky.
