The Night Death Comes for the Messiah

Mist did know however that Monovalent was in contact with Mary and Lemmings the scientists who created him and Shiver and they all had a plan to use Shiver and Mist to create this ruling class of perfect, immortal virus-humans. Mist, Monovalent( and Shiver to a lesser extent)had grown tired of being Aryan’s secret servants and subservient even subordinate to him and his dubious ideals. So, in near silent whispers Monovalent told his nefarious plans to Mist and together they plotted Aryan's downfall.

“We shall attempt it once Aryan’s endeavors fail and believe me, they will falter,” he told Mist. As soon as he has taken over enough industry and government, they will fail for the simple reason that we will kill or at least deal with him ourselves at that point Monovalent laughed metallically.

Monovalent was keen to obliterate Aryan’s influence because Aryan soon planned to unveil his “new” technology whereby all children could be engineered to be healthy and immortal in the way Shiver and Mist were.

With it, he planned to enact legislation regarding a mandated drug, consisting of computer-controlled, artificial, virus-cell hybrids that would lodge in the brain and completely block the signals from the hypothalamus that controlled fertility in males and females. Men and women could only have one child each from now on to keep populations down. Fertility could be temporarily restored as the artificial viral cells could be dissolved with another medication that organic cells were immune to.

Monovalent however loathed and derided humans’ ugly, stupid vile beings and did not think they deserved this technology. He preferred a future in which beautiful, talented, highly intelligent Shiverla and he ruled as overloads over androids and humans and used them as slaves till humanity could be wiped out utterly.

“Emanuel can safely reprogram me so I don’t have to obey Aryan’s wishes anymore; he is the only one who can reprogram me and then can finally hurt Aryan. I’ll put Aryan out of the way probably by rendering him dead. Once Shiver realizes Aryan doesn’t truly care for her, she'll be on board too.”

If he didn’t Mist and Shiver would die as soon as Aryan’s task was fulfilled.

Emanuel ever-waiting for a chance both to reclaim his Sibyl Farling and to change the world to something sustainable and worthwhile as dreamed since childhood and commissioned Monovalent partially to achieve said goal was quite glad to help topple Aryan of his throne where he was ever pontificating with that sanctimonious zeal.

Upon Monovalent’s urging and after he successfully tracked them, Mist and Shiver went to see Mary Karin and Lemmings who helped create them use their scientific prowess. They planned to graciously offer them a place in their new regime once Aryan had been successfully overthrown. Monovalent owed them a debt: was ever grateful for the strands of living essence they gave and which sprang forth beautifully to become his wonderful Mist.

Upon entering the grand manor, and settling on the great, snowy cushions of a sofa, Lemmings, a man from old money and endowed with the neat eloquence that often adheres to the privileged, sat down with a predatory grace. Smiled and shook the silver of his hair.

“Like my dear friend Mary Karin, I accept your offer. Aryan is bright and beautiful…And a bit of a bore. I look forward to seeing my rainbow serpents spread. What a grand, poisonous, and efficient species they will be. As dangerous and beauteous as my greatest holotoxins. With all their loveliest rings. Humanity will pale to nothing. Mist, you are indeed ours, even Mary is proud of you and she abhors all that isn’t perfection. Whereas myself, I like a little, tricky poison here and there but only if it flies colourful.”

Jacob prepared to knock on the door of Emanuel. As a rainbow broke through the clouds. Signifying the light of the covenant. Whether it emerged for him or this New World Order that would end humankind but also all pain, illness, and poverty for a society of immortal Shiveral dancing forever in gold, he had no clue. Who was the true bringer of the devilry? He was certain enough that the so-called Messiah and his Shiverla monstrosities were indeed the wicked ones, that the telltale Virtualiser was held defiantly in his hand. Ready to be handed over. He was the last one left who could do anything to save humanity. Before he could hand over the virtualizer as his nemisses slithered his way out of a doorway of grand oak, the scaled giant of a man, spoke.

"Simon, Shiver's second Prince is madly, hopelessly beguiled by her. He hasn't even spoken to her of Aryan's betrayal. Whenever his lips move to speak of it, her eyes silence him with a weeping gaze. So he has yet to tell her of Aryan's plans to eliminate her from existence. Though she does now know of this plan. Simon still sees a dear, loveliest, rescuable Shiver, with heaven in those irises but Jacob you have viewed the blackened hindwings and the clouded yellow swallowtails and brazen, pinkish demons who thorn the sweetbriar." He paused.

"Yet if she contains but a single string of my beloved, and indeed she does, I will forgive all transgressions." He took the offered virtualizer and soon crumbled it into pieces with disgust. it filtered and blew forlornly upon the ground.

Since setting up their worldwide governance and speaking the grand words," The Earth is ours," they were in office for precisely three days before Mist got tired of his duties.

“I thought Emanuel promised he would free us from our weary burdens by reprogramming you to take out your master,” he said. “ Patience,” Monovalent said sympathetically. Emanuel won’t do it without Shiver’s go-ahead but worry not. Aryan’s over forty, still not a settler even for his loveliest little Shiverla, and on just about his seventh affair. Even Shiver with her childish devotion, is clearly growing tired of it. I think I can get her to come around. Particularly when she finds out this woman, this creature has the mind, mouth, and charms of a neighing horse.”

Shiver came home in tears: “At the dinner party this hideous night-lady he’s defiling instead of me, talked about her shame in being a blonde-haired, white woman: she isn’t even a natural blonde.”

  “Do it, she then said.”

Must turned toward Monovalent. His eyes gleaming in the dusk-light. They lighted a tempest below the beginning curtain of night.

  “Call him.”

They called Emanuel. “ You see the thing about Aryan is he is so ingenious he outplays himself. He bid me to do a backup so that Monovalent attempting to override his programming would have two lines of defense. The trouble is in order to do so, he needed me to know how the gate-locking worked in the first place which I would mostly anyway I am the most gifted of the pair of us at programming. Two-thirds of the programming is mine.”

“ How did you persuade him it was safe to trust you?”

“Aside from our long-standing history and somewhat shared goals ( which aren’t enough since he is a rightfully suspicious man as all-powerful men should be) he knows my heart. He believes I’m terrified Monovalent would sever his connection to Shiver and I would lose my beloved again, so I needed the safety in place. Which was true at first but when Monovalent and his Shiverla because essentially one being, melded more wholly and beautifully and tenderly than I could ever have imagined, I felt assured she was safe.”

“As safe as she would be in the embrace of a mother. Aryan that cold creature barely even noticed the bond happening at all; so singular-minded is he. Be warned he will have one more fail-safe: I guarantee he would not trust us not to usurp him: He will have devised a scheme to send the government all secret Shiverla documents on his death, so they might attempt to end our reign.”

This proved quite prophetic and as the rich little horror of betrayal gleamed in Aryan’s Alexander Gray’s handsome, red eyes, upon sensing the failing beat of his heart, a little device went off and sent every scrap of information it had.

As Shiver and Mist fled to one of Mist’s childhood holiday houses, whilst Emanuel secretly backed up all Monovalent’s data at his place, allowing him to fall at Aryan’s business headquarters as he was essentially fire-bombed by the government.

Unaware of the backup, Emanuel was apprehended by two men in very serious, blue suits and with very solemn eyes. He was essentially offered a deal: a more luxurious prison to dwell within provided he sold his science and aided various governments and business enterprises with cutting-edge. bioweapons and biotechnology.

Mist and Shiver were found a few days later, shivering and complaining about the lack of reception, at a place recommended by Emanuel: the former home of one Sibyl Farling. Mist had promptly pointed out they couldn’t use the reception anyway, since they couldn’t afford to be discovered.

Numerous people broke in with a terrifying array of guns and weapons: likely people with beloveds killed by the Shiverla plague. Their connection to Monovalent was weakened as he had not fully-resurged and so when Shiver was shot the wound did not automatically heal as it ought to have. Mist activated a hand stunner Emanuel devised to interfere with brain waves and death swept the crowd.
