Returning to the original purpose of this experiment, I tested the wand in various settings. While it would fill with Mana the keyword to activate the spell only worked in Harry Potter. Annoyingly it appears I would need to understand the principles that magic operates within each world. (I wonder if there might be some kind of universal principle?) As for Ki, it appeared that worlds rejecting it caused it to get sealed, the severity seems to vary between them and while I want to check the extent, "I probably shouldn’t fully enter right now.” Testing it right now might cut off the Ki flow going to my Bloodborn. If I did and my Ki was sealed off what would happen to him? For as much as I wanted to know, I should leave it for now.
Checking the time again, it was already 8 PM. I sent him off a while ago, I wonder what he's doing?
“I guess I have time for another small project,” before I rest for the night. But the question was, what to look at? Looking over my notes again,
Notes:
Items taken from anywhere are transpnted into an image with an Art Style they take on the same technique/style as any other thing contained within the image.
If I connected two different mediums with different art styles what happens? What happens to an object in the middle of coming out of the screen if said screen gets turned off?
Either the object returns to the screen or is ejected from it.Or it gets cut in half brutally. What happens if I'm on the Otherside when the screen is turned off?Do captions work?
Maybe?Keeping the door open = True
Determine the possible safety implications.Avoid leaving free-standing mediums lying around.
Research Otherworld properties.
Ki sealing? What can and cannot be used in different worlds?
What are the dungeons?
Where are they coming from? How do they work? Are they reted to someone's ability?I added a couple things while looking over the list. Besides the first one, seeing what happens when two different images interact, it should be retively easy to check. I don’t think any of the others are something I can do in a couple minutes or without some safety precautions.
Combining two images with distinct art styles in an editor, a snip from a Renaissance painting connected to a panel taken from a manga. Pcing my hand into the ptop's screen s moved my arm from one side to the other and watched the reaction from the shared image on the TV. “It feels fuzzy,” I noted as I watched the difference in real-time going from a stylized painting to a comparatively harsh bck and white as my arm moves from one side to the other.
“What happens if I tried it with two separate mediums instead of stitching them together?” Opening both of the images I lined them up on the screen. Pcing my pinky in one and index finger in the other I sat for a moment watching. While it felt a little odd, (a tingle in my fingers), I couldn't see anything happen. "It needs time?" Sitting for a couple minutes with my fingers in both images I wondered what would happen. Slowly artisanal color spread into the manga panel and bck and white began to consume the painting. Giving it another few seconds before taking my hand away from the screen, both images had been infected with the other's art style. After a couple minutes, the two images had only changed a small portion from this effect, if given enough time the art style of one image would bleed through to another image.
"Interesting," but I have no idea what this would be useful for. And I question the mechanics behind it. (The hand of God?) Regardless, this experiment was over, for now. Closing everything, I looked at the desktop.
My eyes slowly drifted across the icons that now dotted my once clean desktop before settling on Blender a modeling program I downloaded to compare some things.
3D objects: 3D objects are strange, and they must be broken down into two categories, those taken directly from a modeling program and those taken from fiction with a 3d model-based design.
Programs: 3D objects taken directly from a program are strange. Depending on the program they take on a unique color of unknown matter. Regardless of the program this object, if shaped in the program can be turned into a desired form. A sphere, cube, or more usefully given its properties a morphic stress ball or a spring. Once this object is removed, if squashed or stretched it returns to its original shape shortly after.
However, when a texture is applied to this 3D object it mimics the qualities of the material. For example, a rocky/stoney texture makes the item simir to a rock. It gains rigidity to pressure, weight retive to its size and will sink in water.
But if you cut it in half, you will find it is hollow inside (unless another object was pced inside before removal). Its inner properties remain that of foreign matter now with a hardened outer shell.
A metal texture applies a metal coat and with an edge/wedge shape, the object becomes sharp. If a ‘hot’ texture is used the object becomes a heat source (until it cools off).If a water texture is used the object falls apart into water after exiting the screen (applicable to other liquids).
3D-based media: Unlike in an editor, things taken from media with 3D models as a base are quite different. Seemingly made manifest through my interaction.
A commonality in games is the use of guns, tools, and other assorted items all made and designed by a modeler with the intent of being within said game. Under normal circumstances, a 3D modeler would not go through the painstaking process of recreating each and every single tiny minutia of a model. Since there isn't enough time and money to create every single piece and part only for a model of a gun. A model is considered complete once it's good enough to pass. This results in the inside of these models typically being hollow.
But for some reason through my interaction, they become complete. Various weapons and tools all become complete creations with highly complex structures. Even consumables with unique chemical makeup. And while a good number of these items break due to unknown reasons, design fws, or strange manufacturing errors. Something about them coming from fiction seems to grant them realism.
While these items break for many reasons, they were made from technology that surpassed the understanding. And it became one of the reasons why I think my ability connects to other universes. Each one required time dedicated to understanding their functions and I created a shooting range to determine these functions.
My eyes lingered on the icon, “If I can pull things out, I can go inside…" I felt heat rising in my chest, "Can I enter a modeling program?” I had never tried it before and my curiosity outweighed my rationality, “What’s one more test”?
Opening the app, I was greeted with Blender’s default screen, a ft pne of gray with a white cube at the center. Swiftly deleting the cube, clearing the program I looked at the dispy on the TV. “I should rotate it.” The orientation of a medium affected how gravity would work once I was inside. On the otherside, I would naturally be pulled towards the ground, whatever direction that happened to be (even in static mediums). Rotating the screen just made it easier as I didn't trip over myself adjusting. (Did those squares even count as ground)?
Pushing my way through the screen I was suddenly hit by a ck of sensation. I stood on a pne of gray squares that stretched on into the distance. But I couldn't feel anything, taking a few steps in this endless gray world, I wasn’t wearing any shoes, but the only thing I felt was the pressure I put on my own feet, there was no sensation coming from the gray tile floor. That wasnt all, my chest was moving but no air was expelling nor was it entering. (I’m breathing, but... I’m not?) My mouth opened but nothing came out “…” (No sound either), this has definitely been the strangest one yet.
Continuing to walk in the strange pce of endless gray tiles, sensations felt fuzzy at best. My feet were about the size of one and a half of these rge squares, had the scale changed once I entered? (Am I bigger? Is this pce smaller?) The empty gray was the only thing here, and it would keep its secrets.
I continued walking and walking for, I don’t know how long. It felt like it took maybe a few minutes? Maybe it took a dozen or so? I couldn't tell. But I had to stop. My feet could take me no further.
I stood on the edge of the gray tiles, looking beyond into an endless void of gray. Peering over the edge it seemed that everything just seemed to stop here. Looking around the only thing I could see in the distance was the strange screen that followed me when I entered images. (I should consider a name for it too). It spun around me going over the edge and back again.
Having found the edge, I was about to take a few steps back before calling the screen over and wrapping up for the day…
Maybe it was because I was tired after everything today. Maybe it was because I couldn’t feel anything. Maybe it was because I had walked for far longer than I thought. Regardless of the reason, I fell. I fell backward off the edge into the endless void below.
The next thing I knew I was looking around an endless void of gray, I couldn’t tell my left from right, and only after looking up, and seeing the ptform growing smaller did I realize, I was falling. "####".
As the ptform grew further and further away the only thing, I could see in the void was the clear screen shining brightly in the dull gray void. Reaching out my hand I tried to get the square to come to me but - I was falling faster than it could keep up!
“****” I cursed but no words came out, (Ah, so I’m fucked. Well at least I’ll get to find out what happens if the program crashes while I’m inside…If it doesn’t kill me)
Panic immediately set in. I did the first thing that I thought of, I raised my arm to my mouth and tried to bite into it. Not only was it ineffective my arm passed through my mouth as I bit down. (I really am fucked…)
With the realization setting in I tried as many ways could think of to pull the damned screen closer, without any success. Nothing worked. I couldn't speak and it hovered several feet from me unable to catch up. I kept trying and trying anything, but it remained out of reach.
Eventually, I had been falling for so long that drowsiness got me, I tried my best to push it away, but I eventually succumbed.
Opening my eyes to the same endless gray I had seen before I didn’t know how long I had slept or how long I had been falling. My eyes scanned the endless gray, looking for anything. My eyes were naturally drawn towards the screen as it glowed in this gray pce and the red rope hanging from it.
(!!!)
Seeing the rope slowly decent I grabbed hold, immediately the rope went taught and I was hit by sensation; I could feel the rope and I could feel a heartbeat. Having grabbed onto the rope I had stopped falling and the rope had started pulling me upwards towards the screen. Now that I had stopped falling the screen was quickly approaching as the ropes distance shortened. Reaching out my hand I jumped through to the other side.
I found myself on the wooden floor of the capsule house, “I’m alive!” I shouted as air once again filled my lungs. Turning back around I saw the ptop blue screen. Juxtaposed to the blue screen was a small red figure slowly reconstituting into a humanoid form looking at me with pure red eyes full of concern. My Bloodborn had rescued me.
“I’m… fine… what time is it?" Waiting for the ptop to reset before I could check, it was already 3 in the morning! "I think I should rest for today”...
