  Skill points - 24

Time seemed to slow down as the skills effects came into py. Slow enough that I could see the trajectory of her strike with ease and the arm in Araths face from behind the Amazonian.

I had roughly two seconds of Limitless Primordial and I intended to use it all to my advantage.

Ducking to the right out of her strike range I grabbed her left hand with my own while pcing my right on her elbow. Using my elevated strength I ripped her hand towards me as I pushed on her elbow.

The outcome was a snap of the bone in her arm but I didn't stop there.

My give came to me as I called it and I sent it's tip through Seveneths knee not stopping until it pinned her to the ground. Hopefully that would keep her down.

  [Willows devotion] 3 acquired.

I'll take it. Especially as I felt the effects of Limitless Primordial end.

Seveneth let out a bellow of pain as she clutched her broken limb, her knee tried to buckle under the pressure but she stubbornly stayed standing.

I left her there, blinking over to Feru. The fairy seemed to think she wasn't part of this fight as I shed out with a hook to the side of her head that seemed to daze her slightly.

"Wait!" She tried to yell out, taking to the air to avoid me.

I didn't bother responding instead using Arath as a spring board to jump high enough to get the retreating fairy. This time I called my give back to my hands intended to catch the fairy in her chest with the bde.

Feru panicked and began throwing the same pink ribbons that were around my girls at me with the intention of binding me as well.

She succeeded somewhat in that the first few slowed my momentum enough that I wouldn't reach her and wrapped around my arm that I was holding my give with.

  Copycat 1 (Weavers bindings 40)

Well now that would definitely be useful. I almost couldn't contain the glee in my eye as I used my new skill.

Unlike her pink ribbons mine came out bck as night and seemed to act mote like snakes, that didn't stop them at all as four of them manifested in front of me. Seek. I mentally commanded focusing on the image of Feru in front of me.

The fairy seemed to be taken by surprise by this as she just stayed hovering in pce right up until they touched her. Like a switch had been flipped Feru tried to dodge them to no avail. The fairies distraction had given the snake like ribbons enough time to close the distance and wrap themselves around her arms and legs. One managed to get itself around her wings bringing her to the ground with a thud.

Even through all that her pink ribbon remained firmly around my arm and even started to expand to cover the rest of my body. Arath, Kayalett and Willow weren't fairing much better as their own bindings had almost completely covered their limbs leaving only their heads free.

I gave the two Paragons the full force of my gre, the promise of a slow death by my hands if anything happened to my girls. Seveneth seemed a little shocked while Feru was struggling to breathe through the ribbons.

  "Enough."

Raynas voice boomed through the room pushing the two Paragons into one side while I was sent to the other. Arath and Willow came with me while Kayalett took the opportunity to recloak and climb the wall till she found a corner to hide in. Even after the lingering effects of her voice kept us all pinned to the ground.

Copycat also decided to end it's duration right then freeing Feru.

"Next time you wish to duel him Seveneth be more clear. I will not stop Lazarus next time he should try and kill you."

And with that the pressure was released and we all stood up brushing ourselves off while giving the other group a healthy amount of space. I wasn't too keen on getting into another fight as with Limitless Primordial on cool down my odds weren't that good. Especially when Seveneth pulled out a potion and downed it in one gulp.

One guess as to what type it was.

Seveneth growled as she repositioned her broken arm to it's correct alignment and already I could see some of the muscles in her arm repairing itself. It was slightly unnerving to watch but I refused to look away or show any weakness.

Arath for her part took a step forward trying to put herself between the Paragons and myself. I let her for the most part but made sure I could still see past her.

After a good few seconds Seveneth took a breath and spoke. It gave me enough time that blink was off cool down.

"Yeah Raynas right I was trying to duel you."

  "Bullsh...."

"And binding my girls was a good way to achieve that?" I interrupted Arath.

"Most don't fight to their full extent of they think it's a duel. Putting the illusion of stakes makes people fight with everything they have." Seveneth replied acting a little sheepish.

She was of course entirely correct. If it was a friendly duel I wouldn't have used Limitless Primordial, even the fight with the centaur soldier I only used it because he was trying to kill me at the end. Still though.

"I'll admit wasn't expecting you to go after Feru that quickly. Don't even think she was expecting that." Seveneth let out a ugh that no one joined in. "But it's also why Rayna didn't stop it straight away she knew I was testing you."

"You do realize if she wasn't watching Feru would be dead right?" Willow chimed in. My brown mare slightly unsure of herself in this scenario as she didn't have a bow or any melee skills.

"Yes. Don't worry I've learned that lesson with Lazarus now. Especially when he can beat me in almost a complete fist fight."

Only once a day right now. I silently thought.

"But apologies are in order and I've already prepared a cart with some supplies you don't already have for your trip." Seveneth said pointing outside. I'd not noticed anything there at first and gave the Amazonian a raised eyebrow.

"Well I might have known this would happen so I prepared in advance and don't worry it wasn't just because you might have been a god, I just really wanted to know how strong you were."

Bloody battle hungry species. I knew from experience that they needed to be beaten often as any new skill or technique they picked up made them think they could beat you so it became a cycle of get better try to fight everything you lost to previously and lose for them again. While that could be good for my method of getting stronger I really didn't feel like becoming friends like that with Seveneth. At least right now, Rayna didn't want me to kill Feru so maybe their friends? That would give me one reason not to hate them too much. Too much being the key words there.

"Then we will take our leave." I said moving towards the door but keeping them in the edge of my vision.

Neither of them stopped us as we left and while it looked a little strange when we held the door open for an extended duration to let the invisible Kayalett through, we all made it out. True to Seveneths word there was a covered cart waiting for us outside in a very obvious position that had to have been moved after we went inside.

What struck me rather quickly was that the cart didn't have a horse to pull it, this question of mine was answered when Arath got in front and picked up two pieces of wood that came out in front with a smaller piece joining the two together. The middle piece had a slight curve that made it sit comfortably on Araths back with a decent amount of padding while the longer parts reached far enough that my head mare could grab and hold them.

Willow got herself into a position besides Arath but made no move to help pull just yet and Kayalett pushed me slightly until I was inside the fabric roof of the cart. My arachnid the followed me before she went around studying every item inside like it might jump out and stab us, but at this point I understood and was not going to be surprised if she did I find something off. I tried to make myself as comfortable as possible towards the back out of her way as she maneuvered her abdomen around while also keeping an eye out just in case Seveneth tried to follow.

The two Paragons came to the door of the tree house but didn't come any further as Arath began to pull us along. We stayed in a duel of the gazes until we were far enough away that I couldn't see them and only then did I look away.

Kayalett had done her best to make a seat for herself in amongst the boxes because the walls of the cart didn't seem to be the most stable. She'd also taken the time to pull her now liquifyed web meal out and was drinking slowly as she watched me.

"Not the best introduction to other species was it?" I asked trying to make a joke.

Kayalett chuckled with a mischievous smile. "It was definitely something I will remember for a long time, my mate."
