Chapter 5: Departure And Inn

Chapter 5: Departure And Inn'It's time baby! Time to sp some face!'

A young boy seemingly fifteen or sixteen years old was moving down the road. He had blonde hair, inherited from his father and silver eyes inherited from his mother.

That's ten-year-old me. I've used a Magic Spell, I created to appear older than I actually am.

In case you're wondering what Magic is, for that, we first need to talk about the rules of the World.

The rules of the world are the rules that govern this world. Everything in this world follows these rules. Whether it's gravity, heat, the sun or even humans.

These rules are made of very pure Mana. It has zero impurities. Furthermore, these rules exist on a different pne. And are physically impossible to touch.

Magicians use the Mana generated in their bodies to write rules on this different pne. That is a magic spell. For example, let's say, a magician writes something like this on the pne:

  {There is fire here.}

Then a fire will appear at the pce of the writing, more specifically centred on the 'here'.

However, the pne devours Mana. This means that you will have to keep a steady stream of Mana active to keep the fire unless you make something catch the fire.

There are also permanent changes. Things like:

  {This wood will turn into gold.}

This will permanently change the wood into gold.

So I had already said goodbye to my parents. They were very sad to let me go, and I was also very sad to go, but I still decided to do it.

After all, I didn't come to this world just to stay with my parents, but instead to have fun, spping some arrogant young masters in the face.

What? You're asking, how I could trust my parents? That's simple. I couldn't. Even to the end, my distrust continued. But distrust doesn't mean that I can't have affection. Even when distrusting somebody, you can still show them affection.

And so I started my journey after changing my appearance to not affect my parents with my face-spping.

Looking forward, I finally saw a town in the distance. Up until now I only lived in a small self-sufficient vilge, so I had never seen a town of this world before.

Arriving in the town, the first thing I did was find an inn. After all, even if I had developed subspace magic (which I did btw), I still wanted to stay in an inn to maybe find a jade beauty and a young master to face-sp.

Asking for directions, I quickly stood in front of a luxurious inn.

  'This must be a sign!!!'

I thought, looking at the sign on the front, which boldly procimed:

  "Soaring Dragon Inn"

'How many thousands of inns have this exact name in this world.'

I wondered as I moved in. I chose this inn since it seemed luxurious and was apparently frequented by the city lord's son, a notorious vilin around here, as I was told.

I had no worries about not being able to afford it, as my parents had given me an enormous sum of money.

  'Talk about overprotective!'

I had a smile on my face, as I reminisced about that scene.

After entering, I steered straight toward the counter.

"Hello, I would like to rent the best room for a week."

Another strategic move on my part. There was a unanimous agreement not to take the best room as it was the room the city lord's son always took, whenever he came. Moreover, I rented it for a whole week. This was plenty of time for the city lord's son to come and notice that his room was taken.

As such the female employee had a startled look on her face as I made my wish.

  "A- Are you sure, sir?"

She asked, stuttering a bit, and with an unsure facial expression. I could understand her hesitation. If that guy came here and found out about how the inn booked away his room, then the inn too would get in trouble.

"Yes, absolutely. Or are you saying, that you won't serve your guest?"

I watched as her facial expression turned to panic.

"Of course, we will serve you. But are you sure you can pay the price?"

A voice cut in from the side. A sharp young man in a butler uniform. Looking at him, it was as if the employee had seen her saviour.

"Of course I am. How much is it?"

I could see the double meaning but chose to py ignorant.

"Then one middle-grade Magic Stone per night, please."

He answered with a neutral expression. This was his st attempt to throw me out. After all in this world, one hundred lowest-grade Magic Stones would be equal to one low-grade Magic Stone and one hundred low-grade Magic Stones would be equal to one middle-grade Magic Stone.

If one considers the fact that two lowest-grade Magic Stones equal one loaf of bread making the lowest-grade Magic stones approximately as valuable as dolrs, then the cost for one night alone would be equal to approximately ten thousand dolrs, an astronomical price clearly not meant to be afforded.

By the way, Magic Stones are Magicules condensed in the physical pne. Why Magicules sometimes change pnes is unclear, but it's a fact that they do. Absorbing the Magicules in the Magic Stones is helpful for cultivators.

Unfortunately, these stones have a lot of impurities, making the absorption very slow, especially for Mages, tho it is still faster than absorbing Magicules in the air. In fact, they have so many impurities that even Warriors, who normally don't care about purity, wouldn't dare to absorb the whole stone with the impurities.

A higher grade means purer Magic Stones making the absorption easier.

Magic Stones are also the only things that can't be created with Magic and also can't be affected by direct Magic, meaning things like making the stone into iron.

Lighting a fire under it is possible and it will even be affected by that fire.

Because of these properties, Magic Stones are the perfect currency.

"Sure.", I said, accepting his ridiculous price with a smile and handing him seven of them.

After that, I moved past his shocked face, taking the key and moving up the stairs to my room.
