The light rapidly faded from my eyes as I found myself standing upright, with the remaining kinetic energy from the car flinging me forward a few steps until I stumbled to a stop.
As soon as I managed to come to a halt, I heard a high-pitched scream from above me as something entered the top of my vision. Not wasting any time, I threw my arms out in front of me and barely managed to catch the small two-legged menace who had a stuffed bat fall into her p a moment ter. The bat did not stay in her p very long, however, as she instantly grabbed hold of it, squeezing it tight to her chest.
I couldn’t bme her, given what just happened. A random teleportation gate was not something anyone would have expected, especially in the middle of the street. This was also something that we wouldn’t have told Mira about yet either. In fact, I don’t think any of us have told Luna about things like this as well.
My thoughts stopped as I heard the loud crashing of hooves off to my left, along with the shouting of a man. Looking over in that direction, I saw an old-style hooded wagon which I had not seen in over a hundred years, careening towards me and my sister at a speed that should not have been possible back in the day. It was too close to dodge out of the way at this point, so I turned my body to bare the brunt of the impact with my shoulder while carefully shielding my little sister.
It was only a fraction of a second ter that the wagon impacted my shoulder, causing the entire side of the wagon to be blown to splinters as the wooden board making up its construction could not handle the impact. The collision itself only caused me to barely move when the axle impacted my leg before it too snapped in half. After the axle broke, the wagon tilted and fell to the ground with a crash, leaving me inside the wagon with whatever survived the crash. My sister, on the other hand, was now shaking in my arms with tears running down from the corners of her eyes. Getting her to calm down so I could expin things after this was not going to be easy.
At least I could be gd that she was ok, otherwise I would eventually have to deal with my parents, who would now be trying to dismantle whatever country I’m now in. Honestly, they could be worse than my brother on a bad day.
Lifting my head, I looked around the wagon and found that the way I entered was now blocked by a massive amount of debris, with the only exit being the intended entrance at the back.
Pulling my legs out of the floor, I walked to the back and exited the wagon were I was able to get a better view of the area were we teleported to.
All around me was what originally appeared to be trees with some sort of green skin or bark, but when I followed there trunks up towards the tops of the “trees,” I finally saw what they actually were. I was apparently standing beneath a massive crop of flowers whose petals spanned out like tree leaves, and stems looked like trunks. On the grounds was a covering of normal-height prairie grass with smaller normal flowers spread throughout. It was clearly not a pce that could be found on Earth.
Pulling my mind and sight away from the surreal surroundings, I looked behind the wagon to find another simir one behind it, with what were clearly guards rushing towards the wagon I just walked out of. These guards were dressed in chainmail and hardened leather armor, with each one wielding a set of cold weapons, and based on my experience, they looked like they knew how to use them. Thankfully, they did not pull them out immediately upon seeing me, and instead, one of them walked forward with clear intentions to talk.
This was a very smart move on their part, as I probably would have eliminated all of them if they tried to harm my sister. Though it was probably best if I spoke first and got a lot of the misunderstandings out of the way first.
“Hello, good sir, I am very sorry about the wagon, but my sister and I were teleported here without our prior knowledge, and we did not have enough time to dodge out of the way. If you would like, I can try to find a way to pay you for the damages to any of your goods. Though I feel I must warn you that I do not have anything on me which would suffice.”
I honestly thought that this was one of the more cordial and neutral responses I could give, but it seemed I was mistaken, as in the next moment the man who walked forward dropped onto his knees and started shouting, “I am sorry, great immortal! Please forgive me and my men for whatever it is that we have done! We did not purposefully try to harm you!”
This honestly confused me as I have never encountered something like this before. Most often, people would either be too scared to do anything or run away in terror after witnessing me do something like this. Instead, this person was now apologizing to me and even started to offer me things that I was too surprised to say no to.
Soon, my sister and I found ourselves in a carriage heading towards the nearest town with a pte of food in the center of the trading caravan.
This day was turning out to be one of the weirdest ones I have ever lived through.
