Rachel’s Phone:
Jiamin: The Park
Jiamin: 4 am
Jiamin: Please
Being outside in an empty park at 4 am wasn’t a smart idea, especially for a 14-year-old girl, but here Rachel was doing just that. She took a seat next to her and waited quietly. The only sounds that could be heard were cicadas and the occasional whimper from Jiamin.
“Mom left,” Jiamin whispered.
“When will she be back?” Asked Rachel.
Jiamin shrugged.
Rachel didn’t need to be told. She stood up and embraced her. Jiamin sniffled, then sobbed, and then finally broke into tears.
“She took all her belongings.”
Rachel hugged her tighter.
