Chapter 10 Fight continues? Or not?

Amanda was soaring through the sky with Suzi right next to her. The two of them were blown away by the fireball but they weren't eliminated.

Amanda was falling down at increasing speeds if she hit the ground at this velocity she was sure to be eliminated... "Damn it!" She cursed through her teeth as she gripped her rapier as hard she could pouring as much mana into it as she can. She had to time this perfectly to avoid any injuries.

Suzi was screaming all the while they were falling but Amanda's attention was on the ground. Her rapier's blade glowed in a bright light and it was sure to bring the attention of any nearby players. It looked like a shining star, the brightest in the night sky.

"Radiant strike!" She thrust her weapon down against the ground, tearing up the grass and throwing dirt around. The resulting recoil managed to twist her trajectory into a nearby bush. The bush managed to cushion her fall well enough for her to breath a sigh of relief.

As for Suzi. She didn't have any way to tank her fall except for well... take it head on. Suzi smashed right through a boulder, shattering it into small pieces. She sat there groaning in pain as Amanda stepped out of the bush she fell in. A few sticks were protruding from her hair and she spat a leaf out of her mouth. "Damn it, that was still a hard fall..." She rubbed the back of her head.

She walked towards Suzi who, seeing her, attempted to step up on her feat only to fail. Leaving her vulnerable to an attack. But Amanda didn't attack yet.

"Just get it over with," Suzi closed her eyes letting out a pained moan as she awaited the incoming strike. Amanda let out a long sigh before she swung her rapier down on Suzi's head causing her to burst into blue particles and disappear.

  25+ Points!

Amanda saw the blue screen in front of her. She turned away from the crash sight and walked. Heading south where she saw a few built huts. Maybe she can fish a few points from there...

It had been three days now since the start of the exam. Evelyn made it to the middle after fighting Alice for a while and eliminating her. She encountered a few groups after that and swiftly disposed of them.

Evelyn found that the center had significantly calmed down since she heard a massive explosion. Most of those who were in the center had been eliminated or fled the scene.

Evelyn encountered a few injured individuals which she eliminated both for herself and for them as well, as the arena instantly healed anyone who was teleported out.

As she walked the area around her became increasingly desolate, until she finally came face to face with a familiar figure. "Ah, your highness." Evelyn spoke up. In response the figure in front of her jumped up and recoiled away, startled at the sudden disturbance.

"Who-" Evan snapped his gaze towards her, turning around, his movements wary and cautious. Evelyn came face to face with Evan, the prince of the stellar empire. However once he recognized her he calmed down significantly before he brought his guard up once again.

"Evelyn... hehe... It's nice seeing you here..." He said as he took a few cautious steps back. "It's nice seeing you're still not eliminated as well your highness." She took a step forward causing Evan to flinch and take a few more steps back.

Damn it... Why do I have to face her?! Evan cursed inwardly as he glanced back preparing an escape route. He had took a roundabout way to go back into the center and had been the one to cast that fireball spell to send Amanda and that brown haired girl he saw away from the center, both to help Amanda escape the chaos of the center and to rid himself of her constant attacks.

Now he regretted coming back to the center.

"It looks like I am quite late." Evelyn glanced around at the empty center. "What a disappointment. I had hoped to get a few good points from here..." She turned back towards Evan, and he could have sworn he saw her eyes glimmer, the flames on the ground reflecting on those azure irises.

"Evelyn! Why don't you... Head north, yeah! Head north I heard a big commotion happening there when I passed by a clearing. Evan offered his most convincing smile and took another step back.

Of course, Evan wasn't lying. He had seen a big fight happening there, a lot of people were ganging up on unsuspecting individuals and it seemed like they encountered some strong people who were giving them a run for their money. Evan hoped to divert Evelyn's attention to that group. He had seen they made a small army, that group was doing a good job in terms of sheer numbers.

They probably based themselves around an artificer of sorts. He saw them use some enchanted items.

"Oh really?" Evelyn turned north and stared directly at the thicket of trees in that direction. "Are you sure your highness?" She asked turning back towards him, her expression that same accursed stoic face. Evan hated it as he couldn't tell what she was thinking with her always stone faced and such. Even as children he barely saw her break her stoic demeanour.

A small bead of sweat rolled across Evan's face. What he was about to attempt might either get him eliminated or might help him succeed and survive till the end. Evan figured out long ago that five days from now was the limit the exam could go on for. Because the entrance and welcoming ceremony would always be 10 days after the entrance exam would be held. And it had already been three days.

So five more was the limit and two days would remain for preparations and invites to be sent out. I just need to survive five more days... I had already gotten a lot of points so surviving will only boost my chances of making it into the royal class.

Evan shook his head breaking out of that train of thought as he took in a deep breath trying to steel his nerves. Evan smiled at Evelyn before he pulled out his bladed spear and swung down encasing the tip with light magic causing a light slash to shoot out towards Evelyn. The blue haired girl's eyes widened and she swiped a hand creating a pink barrier which blocked the light slash and broke.

The moment the barrier dispersed into thin air Evelyn was ready to retaliate. She glared at where Evan used to be however. "He escaped." Evelyn glanced around, scouting the area with her eyes alone.

Evelyn hadn't expected the prince to do something like attack her. He seemed a bit nervous she wasn't really looking to eliminate him. He would have given me a good sum of points though... She mused to herself before she turned north where the prince had pointed out. "Let us see if he was telling the truth."

Regina let out a long breath as she finally let the hammer fall and picked up two one handed axes. She turned around facing the last remaining enemy... Or well, second to last as Adam was still there.

She approached graciously, relishing every step. "Oh~ how much points is this gonna be~ I'm excited to see!" She let out a manic laugh before she swung down and eliminated the last player. Regina had purposefully disregarded any notification she had to build the suspense into a satisfying end.

She turned around to face her final opponent. "So, pretty boy. Why didn't you run when I told you to do it?" Regina tilted her head to the side menacingly staring at Adam who met her gaze with his own intense stare. He sneered as he spread his arms apart, showing off his dual daggers.

"You take me for a coward? I won't run. Especially after someone ordered me to." Adam chuckled as he took his fighting stance.

"Are you serious?" Regina spoke up, her voice trembling in amusement as she stepped forward. "You saw what I did to those idiots with my magic right?" She chuckled almost mockingly.

"I know you can't use it too many times." Adam cut her laughter short as his blades began to glow in a whisp dark green flame. "If you could, you wouldn't have bothered with hand to hand. What's a mage like you even doing with weapons?" It was his turn to chuckle as he took another step forward. "Is it an ability?"

"No, no. It is magic... Though you're a little wrong about my usage of it." Regina shook her head. "Enough chit chat." She pointed at him with one of the axes in her hand before she lunged forward. She swung down. A simple move that was met with a simpler parry.

Adam tried to strike with his other dagger but he was met with a kick to the stomach sending him back a few steps. Regina threw a horizontal swing as she leaned forward as much as she could. Adam barely had time to dodge and throw a swing of his own. But Regina had already pulled back. "Nice defence pretty boy~" Regina cooed.

Adam's brows furrowed, "You know just the right way to piss people off..." He smirked, "I like that."

"Hm~ I have a feeling I will hate working with you in the academy..." Regina's face fell from amusement to boredom. She didn't get as much of a rise from the boy as she wanted. She lunged forward once more only to receive a knee to the stomach. "Agh!" She grunted.

He attempted to stab her in the head with both his daggers in a trap jaw motion. However she brought her axe up to block her right side and grabbed his wrist with her other hand, dropping the axe in the process.

Regina twisted around, pulling the boy along with her and throwing him over her shoulder, slamming him to the ground by his wrist. "Ah~ I'm getting Deja vu for some reason." She chuckled before she jumped back.

Adam groaned before jumping up onto his feet, regaining his balance. "Impressive throw," Adam's grin returned. "I have to admit... But honestly I still hate your face."

Regina let out a loud laugh. "Same!"
