Fog flooded the streets, a lifeless neighbourhood drowned in ambiguity. There at the top of a hill at the end of the neighbourhood, a rge manor with a huge garden as a fountain sparkled water from its tip. Trees cut perfectly into cuboids flooding the path to the manor. Sprinklers shooting water all around the field as crows swarmed around the bushes and botany. Voices could be heard from inside the manor, they habitted Miranda Bosely and George Bosely, infamous politicans and figures that have been under fire due to their recent changes of homelessness and tax cuts.
Miranda rushes around the manor, a brown furry scarf wrapped around her neck with a bck hat and dress as if she was attending a funeral. Sungsses and glossy lipstick with delicate expensive earings from Gucci, equipped with another Gucci handbag. "George hurry up or else we're gonna be te!" Miranda bellowed as she stood idley at the door. Footsteps can be heard from upstairs in a quick succession as George can be seen running down the seemlessy endless stairs carring two suitcases and an abundance of bags yed upon his back. George wore a tuxedo, equipped with prestine gsses with a thin frame, his moustache groomed to prestige, and his golden watch incorrectly dispying the time and a polka dot pattern flowed across his tie. His shoes poshed clean, not a single smudge could be seen as George began to do his ces.
And finally Lydia Bosely, the child of Miranda and George, began to slowly go dance the stairs, a grin illuminated across her face as she giggles due to her parents absence for the next upcoming weeks. Her golden blonde hair reach to her shoulders, with her illuminiscent blue eyes and her gorgeous smile. She wore a blouse with roses pattern across, her hair nightly tided into a bun with a red hairband.Upon reaching downstairs, she observes her mother, who's looking at the mirror adjacent to the door, applying makeup as she dabbled highlights across her cheek. George rummages through the suitcase, checking if everything is in pce."Alright darling we'll be gone for a couple of weeks, no parties, no sleepovers no pydates; NOTHING! Barry will make sure you don't mess about and will be occasionally visiting." Miranda stated as she began to pack her makeupand George began to zip up his suitcase."Don't worry mother, I shall not mess around and complete my homework accordingly," Lydia replied giving her mother an irresistble smile that no mother can be angry with. Miranda gave a smile and pinchinh Lydia's cheek and giving her a kiss. Her father doing the same as they began to open the door and leave."Okay sweetie there's leftover chinese in the fridge and if you need to cook anything hard ask Barry and he'll do it for you." Miranda said putting on her sungsses even though it was the middle of the night."Yes mother," Lydia answered eagerly, pratically anticipating the moment her parents leave the door."Bye sweetie love you!" Miranda said, not batting an her as she began to cross the path."Bye Lydia!" George said rushing to catch up with her father.
Silence filled the room, as Lydia shut the door gently and stared at the door. The silence broke as Lydia screamed with excitement and began to spin like a ballerina across the room. She rushed up the stairs into her bedroom as she immediately began to message her friends on her phone, her legs kicking up and down in a repeated motion, squealing as she did so. Lydia switched off her phone as she gazed at the full moon and glistening stars outside her window like a canvas. She smiled as she already knew these werer going to be the best few weeks of her life. Her nose fred as a revolting aroma began to swim around the room, Lydia eventually realised it was her and she hadn't had a shower since the morning. She began to strip as she collected her towel from the back of her door and wrapped it around her chest. She switched off her bedroom light and paused.
The hallway, so full of life and noise. Silent. Empty. Dark. There a long hallway dispying her parents bedroom, the bathroom, guest room, a second dining room and a second kitchen. The doors closed and the hallway engulfed in darkness. Lydia, sort of scared but still careless, ventured deep into the hall as reached the ending to the bathroom. She opened the door and switched on the light, as the bathroom's scent of strawberry shampoo and mint bodywash nestled in her nostrils. She squealled in joy as she left her tower by the rack and entered the bath. She pced her phone opposite the shower head and began to py a cheesy song from popur boy band. She rushed to the shower as she adjusted the water's temperature to the perfect amount of heat. She began to sing along to her song her voice delicate and comforting like a mermaid across the sea. Steam began to engulf the room, creating a fog leaking outstide the bathroom, the door slightlty ajar. Lydia opened the shampoo and wiped her strawberry shampoo across her long hair. Her eyes sealed as the shampoo cascaded across her face, carless and innocent as she sanged louder in the chorus of the song.
The guest's door opened, slowly. No noise. No creak. It began to be fully opened. Heavy breathing. As it stared into the bathroom. A glowing light gring out. Steam pouring out and engulfing the hallway. It reached into his coat pocket, and got it's knife. The bde sharp, think and long. Reaching from the its hand to its ankles. He began to slowly creep into the bathroom. The steam making his vision blurry, yet it followed the light. Lydia's voice becoming more recognisable and louder the more the man crept.
Lydia began to empty out the mint bodywash. Her aroma so strong yet so pleasant. The chorus repeated once more as she coated the bodywash across her body. Singing proud. Singing loud. Dancing along as she returned back into the showerhead. Water pushing down against her eyes as it flowed throughout her body mixing with the bodywash and they both mixed and fell to her ankles. The aroma stronger. A smile could have never left her face in this current moment. Lydia began to start a minimal dance as she began to move her arms left and right. The chorus hit, which she began to erupt, holding a fake microphone as she swished her head around.
It peered into the bathroom door, staring at Lydia's silhouette. Patiently waiting for his strike. Slowly, and steadily, pushing the bathroom door open. The steam still englufing its face which he wiped away.
Lydia, completely oblivious, began her final act. The conditioner. The song reaching its final solo before the final chorus to wrap it all up in a nice present. Lydia began to put the conditioner on her hair reaching to the sides and streching her hair to reach the ends. She could vaguely hear creaks but assumed it was her intense dancing. Once more, she returned back to the shower head. Conditioner flooded to her eyes combined with the water, which Lydia winced harder to prevent the few seconds of blindless. The song once more reaching its chorus for the st time. Lydia singing. Dancing. Blinded. Oblivious.
The curtains swished open as an arm wrapped around her neck. She screamed in agony but her screamed drowned out by the chorus of the song.
"Shhhhhhh"
Lydia heard a voice whisper right next to her ear. Facial hear itching her ears, its arm firmly locked around her neck, as she tried to flee like a innocent deer. She screamed but it was muffled from it's arm, with a thick bck coat.
"Go to sleep, Lydia."
Perplexed. Lost. Fear. Lydia began to scream as she felt a bde sink into her stomach, her screams loud and vigorous. Tears flooded her eyes and she closed her eyes and try to endure the pain. Yet, no amount of endurance can save her. The grip began tighter. The bde sinking deeper. Her breathing slower and her vision blurry.
"Good girl."
It said, kissing her on her scalp and stroking her hair like a dog. Lydia eyes sealed. Her breathing gone. Her body dry. It felt her pulse dissipate as his grip became looser. There Lydia lied. Lifeless. As it stood upon her, and gazed at the blood leaking out og her stomach.
"Goodbye, Lydia."
