One day, the world faced a camity. Out of nowhere, towers and dungeons began to appear, bringing with them terrifying creatures known as monsters. These monsters plunged the world into chaos, attacking anything in sight—human or not.
Nowhere was hit harder than the Korean Peninsu. It became infamous for the relentless appearance of dungeons and towers. The monster attacks there were fiercer and more brutal than in any other country.
It was hell.
But even in darkness, light finds a way to shine. In this story, that light came in the form of Heroes.
Korea fought back with the power of these heroes. Bit by bit, they began to contain the towers and dungeons. They even used the industries born from this crisis to fuel their recovery.
Over time, Korea rose from the ashes, becoming a global powerhouse—rivaling even the United States. It turned into a beacon for aspiring heroes from around the world.
As the number of dungeons and towers continued to rise, Korea established a countermeasure: a state-of-the-art institution that combined magic and advanced engineering.
They called it Cube.
[Cube] became the training ground for elite cadets—those few who beat impossible odds to earn a pce there. And it’s where this story begins. The pce where the hero destined to save the world, and his rival, will meet. That's the setting.
"Someone might ask—what do you mean by story setting?" "The one who created this world isn't some god… it's me. The author." "...But there's a problem.
Scene shifts to a host calling out names.
"Top of the first-year cadets—Cadet Kim Suho!"
A handsome young boy walked onto the stage as his name was called. The crowd stirred.
And I could only think— The world I wrote in my novel… it's unfolding right in front of my eyes. The Cube, the cadets, Kim Suho… What the hell is going on?
Then I began to hear voices. Whispered comments from all around me:
“I hope this ends soon.” “Is he really that amazing?” “He probably lucked out because of his talent.” “If only I had that kind of talent…” “Kim Suho’s pretty handsome.” “So who’s ranked second?”
These voices… they’re from the cadets.
And then suddenly, something shifted. My senses sharpened—like my field of perception had expanded. I heard a different voice. Clearer, more confident.
“The students accepted this year are all incredible. But among them, Kim Suho… He’s unbelievable for a 17-year-old.”
Kim Suho he is this worlds main character. The person to lead this chaotic world dominated by heroes and monsters. He has the traits of an upright hero that holds good and justice. And he also has a secret he's hiding from everyone.
The host starts again by calling the 2nd ranked among the 1st year cadets.
“2nd pce among the cadets. Shin jonghak.”
A boy stepped forward —- strikingly handsome, with glowing white hair and amber eyes.
He was Shin jonghak. The 4th generation of a major company. Jinsung Corporation.
He has a potential rivaling the main character. But he is a future vilin. They all may be cadets right now. But in the future jonghak Becomes a vilin due to his inferiority complex against suho. And they faced of like light and darkness. For the two central characters to stand right next to each other like that….. I really must be inside my novel. Then a thought crossed my mind.
“Who am i? If it's a character i wrote for my novel he should atleast have a name….”
Then someone called for me and said
“Why are you spacing out like that? Did you go bed te, Chundong?”
It was a fat and chubby boy who was calling.
“A-Are you…. talking to me?”
The boy replied “Of course im talking to you! I don't see any other kim chundong around here.”
“K-kim chundong???! Was there a character with that name?”
I dont recall writing such a character… Maybe i will remember if i see his face. But who was kim chundong supposed to be?
When the face was shown in the big monitor in that was there. All that could have been the face was repced by a question mark.
“My… my face. Is a question mark…? Wh…what is happening?!!!
That is when i realized, i became a character i never wrote about. I dont an appearance and the name is old fashioned. And i barely have presence. No one cares even if i dont have a face.”
I had felt soo dissaponted and despair. Im normal except the fact that im now a cube cadet, a character with no point or interaction with the main cast.
“This guy is bascically an audience filler character….”
Thats right. I…. Became an extra in my novel. No! A speck of dust in the novel.
Authors note: from this point on the changes i mentioned will start. And there willb major changes. And up until now everything i wrote was the same as the original story. Which was needed for the basic start.
