A day after Eclipsaras make up birthday.
Vals POV(day 1)(first person point of view)
I groan... and beside me, Eclipsara groans... we both lie on the bed after a long day yesterday.
"Val... can we just... sleep for the whole day?" Eclipsara groaned and yawned beside me on the bed. A bit of drool slipped out of her mouth.
"You too, huh... Yeah, I want to sleep the whole day as well."
Yesterday, Eclipsara and I had a bit too much fun and accidentally used up a lot of energy pying games all night at our house. Tag, chasing each other, reading books, pying board games, and a lot of other things... we were finally done.
Also, Eclipsara apparently decided that she would sleep on the rge bed in my room from now on. Apparently, she felt that the house was too big and empty without seeing me. So, Eclipsara used her former room as a clothes and changing room since it had a closet. She also put some of her things in the bathroom closet of my room, since it was big, and she’s zy like me and prefers to change nearby. I didn’t mind it because I understood her feelings as well.
As Eclipsara and I were sleeping, we both yawned at the same time and ended up sleeping the whole day... Of course, there's one thing to note... Eclipsara and I? We have bad sleeping habits... Whenever we sleep and wake up, we find ourselves either lying on top of each other or, in some cases, with each other's legs across our stomachs... It seems we sleep comfortably despite it all, so neither of us minded or felt discomfort. Apparently, we are both so comfortable with each other that we don’t mind small things like this.
Day 2
I woke up hungry but still sleepy. I dragged myself out of bed to make some breakfast.
As Eclipsara woke up right after me, she said in a weak, sleepy voice,"Val... can we... can we have breakfast?"
I yawned before speaking. "Sure, what do you want to eat?"
Eclipsara replied zily from the bed. "Cereal with chocote milk and biscuits."
I raised my eyebrows. "Same as me, huh?"
"You were the one who introduced me to it!" Eclipsara pouted and raised her voice as she y zily on the bed. "It was delicious!"
I ughed. "Gd you liked what I made you st time."
Eclipsara's stomach growled. "V... Vaaaal... Foooood... please..." Eclipsara groaned on the bed, holding her stomach.
I snickered. "Yes, yes, I’m making it. Don’t worry."
"And Val?"
"Yes, Eclipsara?"
Eclipsara dreamily said, "I want to eat noodles tonight, with extra cheese."
I paused and sighed before replying, "At this rate, we’re both going to get unhealthy."
"We can just not eat anything fatty for the next two days!"
I looked at her as she y down on the bed. "You do realize we’ll be using that excuse a lot, right?"
Eclipsara peeked under her bnket, and I could see the mischievous grin on her face. "But you’re on board, aren’t you?"
I immediately became serious and said in a confident manner, "Heck yeah, I am. But we do have to eat vegetables if we’re going to eat that tonight."
"No carrots, Val. No carrots."
I rolled my eyes. "Yes, yes, I get it."
Day 3
"Val... I washed the dishes and clothes. You don’t have to work today."
"HUH?! But you didn’t have to?! You’re young! You’re supposed to have fun, silly head. Besides, you could have—"
"Pyed? Read? Lazed around? Nah, I won’t do it if you’re not free. It’s boring without you."
I sighed but felt quietly happy. "I guess from now on, you're just going to help me with some of the chores, aren’t you?"
Eclipsara grinned, closing her one visible ruby eye. "Yep! Besides, I want you to py with me once we’re done. That way, it’ll be way more fun!"
I ughed. "Okay, fine. You win. But I think you did everything for today’s chores."
"Yep! So that means you must read a book with me!"
"Alright, sure. Let’s do it. What book are we reading?"
Eclipsara then had a devious and mischievous grin.
OH NO. That’s bad news.
Eclipsara pulled out a horror murder mystery novel. Oh, maybe it's not so bad?
"Soooo... ready to read at night?"
I blinked. "Why, if I may ask, night time?"
"Because it makes the experience of reading a horrific mystery novel much scarier with the lights off in such a big house, after all."
I knew it. This girl did this to mess with me. But you know what? I can handle a horror novel. I’ve already read so many of them in my st life, especially the most disturbing ones to the point that I’m not even terrified by stuff like this. There’s no way I’m going to be spooked by this novel.
"Also, I heard rumors about it having dark romance, but I haven’t read it yet. Apparently, the main character is so dense that that’s the real horror because to the readers, he should have noticed it, but his decisions make the readers scream in frustration at night."
"Huh? So the real horror is the main character’s poor decisions?"
"Yep, apparently."
When I thought about it, the book didn’t sound so bad just from Eclipsara’s description... It can't be that annoying.
"OK! Let’s do it!" I replied, thinking it wouldn't be that bad.
"Heck yeah, Val!"
Day 4
"I regret everything, Eclipsara. I truly do regret it all."
"You know what, Val? I agree. I regret everything too."
Eclipsara and I had dark circles under our eyes. We both read what seemed like a horror mystery novel that wasn't horrific in the way it’s typically known. But the protagonist’s densest and most foolish decisions made Eclipsara and me walk around at night, contempting the true horror of the densest protagonist we had ever encountered.
"Val, I am sleep-deprived." Eclipsara looked down, dark circles under her eyes.
"Me too. Me too." I also looked down, dark circles under my eyes.
We both wanted to erase the protagonist’s decisions from our minds. I mean... the protagonist had every clue that the reason behind every murder was his own freaking assistant! It was even btantly told to him!
"Val... Val..." Eclipsara hugged me and dramatically cried, the fact that we wasted st night reading a dumb book that kept us awake gnawing(distressing) at us.
I patted her head and also dramatically cried. "I know... I know. What a horror show."
That day, Eclipsara and I just slept on the bed, wishing we could forget about the most horrific dumb book in existence and having dreams to erase it from our memories.
Day 5
Eclipsara and I spent the day cooking as an activity. Apparently, Eclipsara wanted to learn how to cook, so we went and made simple food—eggs, baked chicken, bread, and even noodles. I only helped a little.
Eclipsara groaned. "Val... this is hard."
I smiled. "Yeah, I know it’s hard, but it’s actually simple once you get the hang of it."
Eclipsara carefully studied the recipe book while she worked by herself. Eclipsara told me she wanted to try it on her own first, and if she had any trouble, she’d call for me.
Eclipsara cracked the eggs and tried to open them carefully, but some shell pieces got into the pan. She got frustrated. This had been her fifth attempt. She desperately wanted to make the perfect eggs.
"Val... can you...?"
I immediately massaged her head to relieve her stress. As Eclipsara finally rexed, she became determined to make good food for the day.
As Eclipsara finished cooking and presented the meal to me, she proudly decred, "TA...DA! Welcome to Master Chef Eclipsara's awesome and splendid cooking..." She then muttered, "And hopefully no food poisoning."
I heard what she said, but you know what? Everyone learns, and she had taken her time to make this food for me. So, I ate it regardless.
As I took a bite, I immediately noticed a lot of good things, with some areas that could use work.
As I chowed down, I said, "This is really good for your first time cooking, Eclipsara."
"Re... really?" Eclipsara softly asked, watching me eat the food she had made.
"Yeah... I mean it. We need to work on a few things, but overall, this is perfect."
Eclipsara finally sat down in the chair and let out a massive sigh of relief. "I am... so... so gd."
And thus, the day when Eclipsara started cooking ended with a passing score for her first attempt.
Day 6
Today? Today, Eclipsara and I studied. We studied a lot.
Eclipsara was looking at and reading a book about math and physics. She was very diligent and even helped me understand some difficult concepts in physics and math. What can I say? She’s a genius. Apparently, Eclipsara is also a really good teacher. I tried to tell her that if I was bothering her studies, since she was helping me learn, she could stop at any time. But Eclipsara simply said that it’s fun teaching me and that she actually gets better when she teaches the concepts of high-level physics to me.
"Val... here are some easy definitions of some terms," Eclipsara said. She paused for a moment before calmly continuing, "Also, I realized you’re very quick at understanding concepts if we use examples, so I put a lot of examples underneath the terms."
"Thanks, Eclipsara. Really." I smiled happily as I looked at the examples, finally able to grasp the concepts that had been escaping me for so long.
"No worries, Val."
And thus, the rest of our day went like this. We obviously took breaks, napped, or read books, but overall, it was a fun day-even though studying can usually get boring after long hours. I felt extremely grateful to Eclipsara for helping me understand alot of things. Ill get her a present as thanks when I go into town is what I thought at that moment.
Day 7
As Eclipsara and I woke up to start a fresh day, I went outside to check the mailbox to see if there was anything new. Apparently, there was a map in front of our doorstep. It had a red "X" marking a location in town that Eclipsara and I had not yet visited.
Eclipsara rubbed her eyes as she came toward me. "Val? What is it?"
I looked at her and showed her the map. Eclipsara took it and carefully observed it, blinking in mild surprise.
"Hey... should we go today?" Eclipsara asked.
"We’ve been pretty zy around the house all week, so let’s go. We’ll buy some dessert while looking for this mysterious location."
"Who do you think it’s from?"
I quietly thought for a moment before replying, "Maybe that doctor who trained Dr. Trauss?"
Eclipsara nodded thoughtfully. "I see. When should we go?"
"We can go anytime you’re ready."
"Then after 4 hours, okay?"
"Sure."
And so, our next trip to town was about to begin.
