In 2010.
A terrorist organization that had once clashed with EISC reappeared on their radar. "The Hand of Gabriel," abbreviated as HOG, was an extremist group founded by rogue agent Arthur Pheromone. Around 2002, EISC had engaged them in Sicily, North Africa, and the Iberian Peninsula, ultimately crushing their operations. They had assumed the group would scatter like startled birds, yet now, years later, HOG had risen from the ashes.
In Budapest, Hungary.
A police armored vehicle plowed relentlessly into a building, crushing three unlucky thugs into pulp. The leader, Manfred Varys, narrowly escaped by rolling aside. His stunned henchmen quickly drew weapons, aiming the gun at the vehicle. Suddenly, a barrage of flashbangs erupted from the driver's window. Blinding explosions flooded the room, leaving everyone sightless for ten full seconds. Amid the chaos of screams, only Varys instinctively dove behind a pillar. When the smoke cleared, a nightmarish figure stood before him.
Frank Worden wore black combat gear, wearing a gray skull coated mask on his head. Glowing eyes pierced through the haze like spectral lanterns – though in reality, it was the mask's infrared system scanning every enemy position in the room.
His gaze locked onto Varys. Twin battle-axes slid from his belt, their polished silver surfaces gleaming with superior craftsmanship compared to his previous weapons. T
As Frank advanced, one recovering thug raised a Glock 17. Frank swung his axe in a fluid arc, severing the man's wrist. Before the scream could form, a reverse stroke cleaved the head from its shoulders in a spray of gore.
Other henchmen rallied, bullets ricocheting harmlessly off Frank's reinforced suit. Unfazed, he whirled through the crowd like a dancer wielding steel ribbons. Limbs, weapons, and viscera carpeted the ground until only Varys remained, scrambling through a window toward a waiting Mercedes E300.
By the time Frank finished his crimson ballet, the fleeing leader had retrieved an AT-4 rocket launcher from the car. The weapon's barrel swung toward the armored figure framed in the shattered window.
Frank: "Oh, shit!"
Authorities tracking the gunfight began scouring the city for the shooters. Using traffic cameras, they pinpointed Varys' location for EISC.
Frank staggered upright from the rubble, ears ringing. By the time he remembered his target, Varys' taillights were already vanishing down the road. A familiar voice crackled through his comms.
Rita: "Frank? Do you copy? Frank!"
Frank: "Still breathing... That bastard RPG'd me!"
Rita: "He's getting away! You can still catch him - move!"
Frank: "I need wheels..."
Rita: "Head 50 meters at your twelve o'clock. There's an escape vehicle prepped."
Frank sprinted to the coordinates, finding a glimmering Audi S8. Rita's team remotely disengaged the locks as he slid into the driver's seat.
Frank: "Hell yes! Where's the key? Nevermind - old tricks."
He yanked the folded rearview mirror above him, sending a key clattering into his palm. The engine roared to life, tires screeching as he fishtailed onto the main road.
Frank: "Status! Where's that cockroach?!"
Rita: "Two klicks ahead. Cut through the textile market - left then immediate right onto the M7. You'll intercept him before the Danube bridge."
Within ten minutes, Frank closed in on Varys' Mercedes - along with half of Budapest's police fleet.
The desperate crime lord spotted Frank's Audi in his rearview. Without hesitation, Varys leaned out the passenger window with reloaded AT-4, firing at his pursuer. Frank swerved violently, the rocket obliterating a trailing police cruiser instead. The remaining law enforcement vehicles fell back, but Frank kept charging forward like a bloodhound.
As Varys fumbled to reload, Frank pulled alongside on a mountain pass. Gunfire erupted from Varys' driver-side window, bullets pinging off the Audi's reinforced glass. Frank ducked below the dashboard, both vehicles weaving dangerously at 160 km/h.
An oncoming fuel tanker forced them to split - Frank veering right while Varys took the left lane. During the tanker's thunderous passage, Frank popped his MP5 through the sunroof. As visibility cleared, three controlled bursts punched through the Mercedes' windshield, turning Varys' driver into crimson mist.
The careening Mercedes collided with guardrails, Varys' misfired rocket cooking off in the backseat. The explosion launched the wreckage skyward before it tumbled down the cliffside in a fireball.
Rita's whoop of triumph echoed through Frank's smoking vehicle:
Rita: "Whoo! Clean finish! Any holes in that pretty hide of yours?"
Frank: "Just,scratched the paint."
Rita: "Relax, I'll clone this armored angel for you."
Frank: "Thanks, Rita!"
The Audi accelerated into dawn light, leaving the inferno and distant police sirens far behind.
Back in Paris, Frank and Rita immediately reported to Jefferson.
Their seamless coordination had secured a flawless operation, earning Jefferson's approval. Yet worry lines creased his brow as he gestured at intelligence reports.
Jefferson: "Four outposts hit! Four! I can't have everyone operating at your level, Frank. These HOG terrorists are nothing like Lucifer's crew – they'll drown cities in blood if it suits them."
Frank: "Which is why we exterminate them root and stem, Jeff. No quarter."
Jefferson: "There's more. I've... uncovered something worse."
Frank: "Worse than rocket-wielding maniacs?"
Jefferson lowered his voice, leaning across the mahogany desk.
Jefferson: "I suspect moles within EISC. Multiple."
Frank: "Who?"
Jefferson: "I don't know, It could be anyone. They made preparations in advance, someone must told them you were going there, someone within us. but eventually, they still can't stop you, Ghost Wolf.
You may be able to easily handle them, but what about others? They are completely unbeatable against these lunatics. A lot of stronger Grey Runners retired early, the quality of them is constantly declining."
Rita: "Then let's hire more new crew, Dad. Isn't that 'The Banshee' woman doing pretty well lately? "
Jefferson: "That's not enough either. People like her are like one in a million, not that easy to find."
Frank: "I don't mind you hiring new crew, but I think that's the problem. Someone sneaked in with ill intentions, just like those coyote spies wandering around us. They may collude with the people at HOG. You have to learn to distinguish good from bad."
Jefferson: "Uh! I'm starting to miss Charles. Chairman is really not a good job."
Frank: Hehe, I told you."
Jefferson: "Anyway, I'll take care of these things. You two can enjoy your vacation. I'm proud of you, girl. You've become an excellent accountant. And you, Frank, are a good partner."
Rita: "Not just a partner, right?"
Jefferson: "What."
Frank: "Uh, nothing. Not just a partner, but also a good friend."
Jefferson(Chuckling): "Hmm, alright."
Rita felt confused as to why Frank didn't want to confess their relationship to her father now.
At night, in Frank's apartment.
Frank: "Your ID, stop leave it here again."
Rita: "It's okay, I've already made a backup. You can keep that."
Frank: "Fine."
They are lying in bed together watching TV. Today's news is repeatedly reporting the "deeds" of HOG, and an invisible war has begun.
But their thoughts are not here. Rita gathered her courage and asked first.
Rita: "Why don't you want to tell him?"
Frank: "What?"
Rita: "You know what I'm talking about. How long will we continue like this?"
Frank: "I... really don't know."
Rita: "Are you afraid of him, Frank? You've also seen his opinion of us, and he's very satisfied. He might have known earlier."
Frank: So there's no need to say anything."
Rita: "No, that's different. I hope to receive his blessing."
Frank: "He's very busy now, maybe his mind hasn't been on us. If we confess in front of him, wouldn't that add to his trouble?"
Rita: "But we can't escape from this! This isn't like your style, Frank Worden."
Frank: "Uh, it's really fuck up... Okay! Let's schedule a time with him, like next week?"
Rita: That's right! Do you want me to be present?"
Frank: No, no, just wait behind me. I'll make sure he's not stressed after listening, and then you'll show up."
Rita: "Damn, you think so clearly?"
Frank: "Oh, who said I'm not thoughtful."
Rita smiled, and then she gave him a deep kiss.
On that day, Frank waited in the car outside Lasse Manor for a long time without getting off, which made Rita in the passenger seat start to feel impatient.
Rita: "Seriously? You planning to telepathically beam the news to him?"
Frank: "Maybe just give him a call."
Rita: "Christ! why are you so like a coward? You're like a coward now, you know? Just like that guy... what's his name again?"
Frank: "Alright fuck it! Let's finish the job! Maybe just let him kicked me out the door, no big deal. "
Rita: "He won't. Come on! Hurry up!"
Frank got off the car and walked slowly towards the gate of the manor. He walked while mentally reviewing how to talk to Jefferson about this matter, and repeatedly rehearsed several possible outcomes in his mind. But just as he walked to the entrance of the manor, he suddenly sensed a slight deviation.
The glass door in the manor hall is half open, and there are windows on the second floor of the house. The surveillance cameras that were originally hanging next to it were all smashed off. A strange smell of blood suddenly emanated from inside the house, making Frank feel extremely frightened. He cautiously pulled out his USP and slowly walked into the room, with every pore on his body paying attention to his surroundings.
The room was silent, and Frank could hear nothing except his own breathing. He searched all the rooms on the first floor, including the living room, bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom, but not a single one was left behind. Then he slowly walked to the second floor where Jefferson's office and bedroom were located, feeling a chill in his heart. Eventually, what he was most worried about happened.
Jefferson lay on the armchair in his own office, looking at Frank with a daze, while his head was pierced and blood was spilled all over the desk. Frank was so scared by this shocking scene that he couldn't speak, but he still didn't forget to search the entire crime scene, trying to find some evidence.
Soon, he discovered that the window on the right side of the body was open, which was the same window he had seen downstairs. There are obvious traces left by someone escaping through the window, and the debris outside the window also seems to have remnants. As he walked over to take a look, he was unaware that he had already fallen into the trap left by the real killer.
A gust of wind howled, and Frank thought someone was standing behind him, just about to turn around and check. With a bang, he was pushed out of the window by an unknown force, rolling and falling from the second floor, hitting the ground.
The commotion finally caught Rita's attention in the car not far away. She vaguely saw that something had happened at home and quickly got off the car and walked towards Manor. At that moment, a vehicle suddenly passed by her and stopped in front of the manor gate, completely blocking her view.
On Frank's side, he was still trying to stand up. His right foot had just been injured from a fall and he was walking unsteadily. Immediately afterwards, Mark Grane and the accountant Neil Mars got out of the car, holding SIG p226s in their hands. When they saw Frank, they raised their pistols and aimed them at him without hesitation.
Grane: Don't fucking move! Frank!"
Frank: "Mark! What's going on?"
Grane: "I want to ask you the same question!"
Frank: "Listen, someone killed Jefferson! He's dead!"
Coming from afar, Rita heard the news and was shocked, standing still in place.
Mars: "You did it, right?"
Frank: "What the fuck are you talking about?"
Grane: "Then why are you here?"
Frank: "I had an appointment with Jefferson to talk about something! Who knew he... shit! Then someone pushed me out of the window."
Mars: "Don't defend yourself, we've found evidence."
Frank: "What fucking evidence?"
Grane: "We need you to lay down your weapons and cooperate with us to investigate this matter properly."
Frank remembered what Jefferson had told him before, that there were hidden moles in the EISC, and it seen likely the two of them. He pretended to obey and suddenly grabbed Grane as he approached him, then pushed him towards Mars. Mars ignoring Grane and kept shooting at Frank, but didn't hit a single shot. Watching Frank roll over from the nearby wall helplessly.
When he turned outside, Frank noticed Rita in the distance. The two looked at each other, but neither of them approached each other. Then, the siren sounded as police cars appeared behind Rita, heading towards Frank. Frank was very helpless and could only turn around in despair, limping away from the scene.
Frank is suspected of conspiring to kill Jefferson. Mars and Grane both provided evidence that Frank was bought off by someone at HOG and became a rebel agent. Many people who know Frank hard to believe such thing, including Rita. Rita testified that she was indeed with Frank that day, but Frank entered the manor alone and she had no idea of what happened inside. But when others talked about Frank's relationship with her, she remained silent and did not reveal anything about their relationship to anyone.
The senior members of EISC immediately took action to elect a new successor to replace Chairman Jefferson among the other eleven knights. This matter should have been notified to the former chairman Charles first, and a new chairman should have been elected after consultation with him. But others sidelined Charles and started their election without authorization. Before selecting the new chairman, Charles still knew about this matter and felt very sad and angry about Jefferson's death, while also being very puzzled about the fact that Frank was a suspect. Although Jefferson and Frank had some minor friction before, he didn't believe Frank had the courage to kill Jefferson.
Other senior executives are aware of Charles' relationship with Frank and Jefferson, and use this as an excuse to suspect that Charles may also be a member of the mole. Charles is willing to investigate with the Prosecutor in order to prove his innocence. Simultaneously expressed willingness to stay at home until the investigation is completed.
At this time, there have been many changes in his family, with both children gone and his wife Yuling returning to China. In theory, he was the least afraid of anything happening now until Frank secretly visited him.

Charles: "You! How dare you appear here! How did you escape?"
Frank: "I thought it would happen one day, but I didn't expect it because of this. Listen, that can't be me, you know it."
Charles: "Even if I willing to believe you, would those people? They found the shell, which was fired from your USP! And there are traces of you on the roof."
Frank: "Those evidence are forged. Jefferson told me the day before he died that there were many moles hiding in the organization. I had arranged to talk to Jefferson that day. Rita was also present at the time, you can ask her too."
Charles: "God,damn it!"
Frank: "Listen, Charlie, why should I betray EISC? It doesn't make sense! I've already got everything I want here. Those bastards trying to destroy me! You must help!"
Charles: "I have no choice, those people are staring at me very closely, and I no longer have real power!"
Frank: "Then why did you ask me for the meeting?"
Charles: "Me? I didn't!"
Frank: "Then how did you... oh, fuck!"
When he realized it, the trial army of the Prosecutor had already approached him. Frank quickly ran away, knowing that he couldn't defeat these indestructible steel soldiers alone. At the same time, he glared angrily at Charles, feeling that he had let him down. But Charles was in a confused state, completely unaware that he had been used.
Frank used all his might to escape from Woodhart Manor, braving the gunfire of the Trial Army, and then walked into the nearby park. In the corridor of a wooden Chinese pavilion, he was once again blocked by Grane and Mars. They appeared on both sides of Frank at the same time, raising their guns to confront him.
Frank: "You two bastards set me up, right?"
Mars: (laugh contemptuously) "Still try defending yourself, take him down, Grane."
Grane: "No, I'd like to hear what he's trying to say?"
As soon as these words were spoken, Frank felt that Grane was unaware. He's just a little bit stubborn and foolish.
Frank: "I saw what you called the evidence. Hmph, it doesn't hold up at all."
Grane: "Then why did you run?"
Frank: "Because I know if I stay and cooperate, I will definitely end up like Jefferson."
Grane: "No one will take action against you until the Prosecutor confirms your guilt."
Frank: "Hmph, the Prosecutor? The Prosecutor may have been corrupted a long time ago. Those people are hiding among you, and you don't know it yet."
After speaking, he looked at Mars on the other side. This guy is the most suspected and seems to have been fanning the flames.
Mars: "So what's your idea? Let you be the chairman."
Frank: "My idea is to kick your head off, kick out all the conspiracies and tricks inside, and let this guy see clearly."
Grace looked at Mars with confusion, but he never understood or believed what Frank was saying.
Grane: "Put down your gun, Frank. I promise no one can touch you."
Frank: "How dare you speaking to me like that? Beat me up first, coward!"
He suddenly turned sideways and tricked Grane into shooting him. Then he lifted the pistol and slapped it, knocking out the weapon in Grane's hand. He didn't continue shooting at Grane, turned his head and aimed the gun at Mars on the other side. Mars immediately hid behind the nearby pillar. Let Frank kept firing and never fought back.
At this moment, Grane suddenly bumped into Frank head-on, pushing him down and wrestling on the ground. Although Grane may be reckless, his combat effectiveness is on par with Frank's. The two of them were entangled for a long time, and Frank still couldn't escape.
Then, Grane suddenly took out a dagger from his waist and stabbed Frank, seemingly intending to kill him. Frank immediately became stressed, punched Glenn in the abdomen, broke free from his restraints, and then grabbed his dagger, starting to compete. In a moment of panic, Frank accidentally exerted too much force and pushed the dagger into Grane's neck, causing blood to spray out.
Frank panicked and threw away the dagger, then looked at the dying Grane. His entire neck was cut and blood kept gushing out. He kept convulsing, looking at Frank in despair. Frank was stunned, even though he was wearing gloves, he didn't squat down to check Grane’s condition.
And then, Mars suddenly appeared from the dark and took out a SIG p226 to shoot Frank. Frank instinctively rolled and dodged, causing the bullet to hit Grayne's body. This bullet became the last straw, completely ending Grane's life.
Frank looked at Grane, who was still in his eyes, and suddenly felt sad for him. When Mars saw this happened, he suddenly shouted angrily at Frank.
Mars: "You will die here today! Worden! Pay for his life."
At this moment, Frank heard other noises in his ear as the trial army approached him. Although he really wanted to kill Mars right now, for the sake of his innocence and to find the truth, he had to seize the opportunity and escape from here.
Mars watched his fleeing figure and showed no intention of continuing to catch up with him. He looked at Grane's body, at the dagger stained with his blood on the ground, and slowly revealed an evil smile.
The situation is getting worse and worse. The entire committee is searching for Frank Worden's whereabouts, and almost all Grey Runners have been mobilized to conduct a comprehensive search in Europe and the United States.
Although Frank believed that Mars was causing trouble, there was no evidence, and his other friends, including Charles and Rita, could not uphold justice for him. He can only rely on himself.
Fortunately, he was prepared and used his accumulated wealth to buy a dock warehouse in Brooklyn, New York as a hiding place. There, he had a considerable amount of firepower and ammunition, a pile of fake passports, spy equipment, and escape vehicles that could help him overcome difficulties and pursue the truth. But now there is no source of income, coupled with the crisis outside, he has been staying here for a long time and will eventually be discovered. After careful consideration, Frank chose to bring some equipment and left New York by boat from the dock, heading east.
A few weeks later, Frank sneaked back to Paris alone and began investigating the first suspect, Mars. He sneaked into Mars' residence in Paris while he was away. After a search, he found nothing and felt very disappointed. Perhaps he guessed wrong? But he had always heard that Mars was a thoughtful person, not quite like someone who left evidence at home. So he took even greater risks and sneaked back into the underground headquarters of EISC in Paris.
At this time, the chairman of EISC was replaced by Alexis Komnenos, a Greek and one of the twelve knights who governed the Balkan Peninsula region. Frank doesn't know much about him and suspects that he, as a vested interest holder, may have colluded with HOG. But he didn't have that much thought to investigate Komnenos and focused on Mars.
He relied on Rita's previous identity card to successfully enter EISC's archives room and began searching for Mars' files.
Neil Mars, Dutch, was born in Amsterdam in 1978. Served in the French Foreign Mercenary Corps before retiring in 2003. Joined EISC in December 2004 and successfully passed the assessment within a year, becoming an accountant and working under Jefferson de Lasse.
Frank didn't have many opportunities to meet him either, usually only seeing him when he went to find Grane, because Grane was under his jurisdiction, and there were also a few newcomers with Grane, namely the succubus and the others. And according to the description on the file, Mars was an extremely capable warrior before joining EISC, but he chose to become an accountant, a profession that does not require physical force, probably to make more friends. And among these people, there may very well be someone with the HOG.
Then, Frank discovered doubts from Mars' deeds. Not long ago, Mars reported a suspected traitor to the committee, Byron, and asked the trial army to arrest him at his home. Byron escaped like Frank, but he was not so lucky and ultimately died on the escape route. And all of his family members were brutally killed, and the Prosecutor even determined that it was Byron who killed him when he fled out of fear of guilt, bringing the entire case to a hasty conclusion.
Frank found Byron's file and opened it to check, learning that he had also worked for Jefferson de Lasse, possibly sent by Jefferson to investigate the issue of the mole. But now he has been charged with attempting to leak committee intelligence to HOG branch leader Varys, and has also been photographed standing with Varys. Frank suspects that this photo may be fake, and the committee members do not seem to have confirmed its authenticity repeatedly.
Then Frank learned about his original residence and planned to go there to investigate. Both being charged with killing colleagues and having Mars present, he felt that Mars was repeating his old trick of eliminating those who posed a threat to him one by one.
Although this place had just been seal up by the Prosecutor, Frank always felt that Byron would leave him with some clues. Previously, he saw in Byron's file that Byron was accustomed to leaving marks with invisible ink during actions to facilitate his search for targets. Frank knew that the invisible ink was revealed through a special fluorescent lamp. And he happened to know where to buy this fluorescent lamp.
After buying the fluorescent lamp, Frank quickly returned to the house to check. Turning on the fluorescent lamp, Frank began scanning the entire room and indeed saw the deliberate markings left by Byron. Many arrows were guiding him in one direction, probably to help others find the truth.
Soon, Frank arrived at the master bedroom of Byron and found that the last marked spot was a wooden board under the bed. He immediately lifted the bed and used a pry bar to pry open the wooden board, discovering the box hidden underneath. Just as he was about to pick up the box, he immediately heard footsteps coming from outside the house. He quickly put the box into his pocket, escaped through the window, and then went outside to observe.
The visitor was none other than Mars, with two armed henchmen. They found the master bedroom with fluorescent lamps, only to find that the things had already been taken away in advance. Mars got angry and kicked the door, then immediately returned to their car with his men.
Frank quietly approached to check again and found that there was still a person sitting in the passenger seat of the car. Through the rearview mirror, he could see the person's face clearly, it was Byron's partner Hegel. His face was covered in wounds, and Frank guessed that he must have been severely tortured by Mars before betraying his teammate and revealing clues about the highlighter. Unfortunately, Frank took the lead. Returning to the car, Mars said something to Hegel, who was very scared. Then he drove away, leaving all his doubts to Frank.
Frank returned to his basement, opened Byron's box, and found a diary. He carefully read the contents of the diary and was shocked by what he found inside.
The first half of the diary mentions the infiltration of the committee, and HOG is gradually replacing the senior members of the committee with their own people, ultimately gaining complete control of the committee. If they succeed, the consequences will be unimaginable. The latter half of the content is a completed assassination plan that has already been formulated.
Byron's partner Hegel will assassinate the newly appointed chairman of the committee, Komnenos, in two days, and the person who instructed him is none other than Neil Mars. Although the diary did not explicitly state that Mars was a member of HOG, it was revealed between the lines that Mars had met Arthur Pheromone. And Hegel was coerced by HOG to participate in this plan, with the purpose of acting as a tool. After killing Komnenos, he was arrested by the trial army and then shifted the blame onto another Twelve Knights, Vladimir Petrov. They claim to have prepared enough evidence to falsely accuse Petrov, as long as Komnenos dies. In this way, HOG has eliminated influential high-level officials in Eastern Europe and can also sow discord between the EU and Russia. Hegel may die, but his family can survive.
Hegel's partner Byron learned about this matter and secretly confronted Hegel, telling him not to help Mars. He would find a way to solve his problem, collect evidence, and bring Mars and the others to justice. But what happened later was clear to Frank, Byron was probably betrayed by his partner.
Now Frank knows almost everything, but these pieces of evidence are not enough to bring down Mars and clear his name. He still needs to follow the clues and find the real mastermind Arthur pheromone, bring him to justice, and make everyone sit up and take notice. And now what he needs to do is to rescue the new chairman Komnenos from assassination.
Although Komnenos was the target of the assassination, Frank did not trust him, and it would be foolish to directly hand over the evidence in his hands to Komnenos. Then he thought of Rita, who had not returned home after her father's death and had been staying in a Continental Hotel. She probably still struggled to face the "fact" that her father had been killed and her secret lover was the culprit. Frank really wanted to meet her, but he felt guilty about running away alone before and didn't want to embarrass himself. And now handing over these pieces of evidence to Rita undoubtedly puts her in danger. So he can only do it himself.
On the day, Komnenos appeared at the the Elysée Palace, the presidential palace in France. EISC has always had a close relationship with the French government, and the French president will receive the news as soon as the committee changes its chairman. And when the new chairman takes office, one of the first things he needs to do is to visit the French president and inform him of the committee's situation.
As the top leader of the intelligence organization, Komneno's actions are very low-key, and only a small portion of the committee's senior members know about his meeting with the president. So if he were attacked here, he would only suspect that someone around him was playing tricks, and that's exactly what Frank and Mars wanted. As for who he should suspect, it depends on who fired the gun first.
Frank disguised himself as a special police officer and set up a FR-F2 rifle in the tower west of the Elysée Palace. He knew that HOG would arrange for another assassin to ambush nearby. If Hegel failed, assassin would kill Komnenos first and then kill Hegel to silence him. So Frank must find this assassin for Hegel and solve him in advance.
He first estimated the current wind speed, starting from Hegel's position, and mentally simulated a trajectory. Which position can simultaneously kill Hegel and Komnenos. Soon, he found the first suspicious person. A nervous man in a suit, with a beard, was leaning against the window, observing the outside scenery, looking like a killer. But not long after, he left and went to chat with another staff member on the side. Frank doesn't think he's a assassin.
Then he continued to search according to his feelings and found the second and third suspicious individuals, but none of them were real assassin. Time passed quickly, as Komnenos was about to leave the Elysée Palace, Hegel was ready. Frank aimed the rifle at Komnenos's side and fired three shots in a row.
he bullet flew through the air and hit the ground around Komnenos about a second later. The stray bullet grazed Komnenos's body, but missed the vital point. Komnenos immediately woke up in shock and quickly retreated into the house to avoid bullets. For a moment, the alarm sounded at the Elysée Palace, and the French special police in the entire area mobilized and rushed to the president to protect him, then began searching for the location of the gunner.
Hegel immediately panicked upon seeing the situation and ran away before the assassin could take action. The assassin hiding in the dark just saw Hegel make a mistake and aimed the rifle at Komnenos as planned, but missed due to Frank's interference. Now he is aware of the presence of a third party on the scene and has no plans to continue chasing Hegel. He quickly put away his weapons and left.
Frank quickly descended from the western tower and moved towards Hegel, trying to save his life. Not long after leaving, he arrived at the tower on the east side. Suddenly, someone shouted at him from behind. It's a young woman's voice, and she speaks French.
"Hé! Vous! Ne bougez pas! Levez les mains!(Hey! You! Freeze! Raise your hands!)"
Frank stood still and slowly raised his hand.
"Enlève ton casque et laisse-moi voir ton visage!(Take off your helmet and let me see your face!)"
Frank didn't listen to her this time, put away his hands, and ran away. The young woman immediately fired a shot at him, hitting his shoulder. Frank bumped for a moment, but still didn't give up running away. He sprinted forward regardless of everything, and then at the end of the corridor, he climbed over the railing and jumped down from the second floor.
He fell onto a car and made a noise. Fortunately, there was no one else around, and he ran towards the other side of the road without stopping, slowly moving away from the Elysée Palace. After entering an alley, he slowly took off his disguise and then sneaked into the nearby clothing store through the back door of a room.
He changed into casual clothes at the clothing store and paid the staff to buy these clothes. After leaving the clothing store, he found that the entire Elysée Palace had been surrounded by special police, who were still searching the surrounding buildings for the location of the killer. It's not advisable to stay here for long, Frank should walk away from here immediately. After he left, two Grey Runners walked into the clothing store and found Frank's discarded SWAT uniform in the garbage bin near the back door of the store.
Frank's rescue plan was considered a success. With the protection of his subordinates, Komnenos successfully hid back in the underground headquarters and began screening who leaked the information. Frank stayed in his hiding place, cleaning up the wounds left today. He was well aware that the young woman who had previously discovered him at the Elysée Palace was a Grey Runner, but he couldn't see her face clearly.
After treating the wound, he immediately turned on the TV to watch today's news, and then immediately saw his unremarkable figure appear on the news. Such news was like a medal of honor for him. Unfortunately, Frank was unable to find Hegel in time. He estimated that this person was still killed by the assassin and died somewhere.
Then, through the surveillance footage of the shooting scene played in the news, he unexpectedly discovered a person who had already "died" - Manfred Varys, the HOG branch leader he had teamed up with Rita to kill in Budapest, Hungary.
Frank was immediately stunned. He had clearly witnessed Varys accidentally blow up his car, and afterwards the police confirmed that there were indeed two bodies inside the car. Unless, at that time, what he saw was not Varys at all, but someone who looked very similar to him. After all, he was not familiar with Varys' voice and had not observed him up close. It is likely that the person he was fighting with at the time was just a fall guy.
The next day, Frank infiltrated the Paris police station and obtained the video tape of yesterday's road surveillance. Soon, he found the trace of Varys in Saint Denis, a suburb of France. He followed Varys to the vicinity of Saint Denis Church and found him conversing with a mysterious person. Frank disguised himself as a tourist and quietly approached them, arriving near the top floor of the church. Immediately after, I finally saw the person's face: it was actually Ludwig La Fontaine, one of the Twelve Knights!
Like Charles, Ludwig was also the founder of the committee, overseeing North Africa and Italy, and played a crucial role in the committee. And the origin of HOG happens to be Sicily, Italy, no wonder they were able to easily come into contact with it.
Through their conversation, Frank could easily see that Ludwig and Varys seemed to be on the same level. When Varys spoke to Ludwig, his tone and attitude were both very firm. Their conversation did not mention Mars and Pheromone at all, but the simultaneous appearance of Ludwig and Varys had convinced Frank that Ludwig was the biggest traitor planted by HOG in the committee. And he happened to be able to use his spy camera to capture evidence of their crimes, which is more direct than Byron's diary. But what he didn't expect was that HOG had ambushed so many assassins around here.
Frank's behavior was immediately noticed by HOG's henchmen, and all the assassins rushed towards him. Frank immediately smashed open a window in the church, jumped from the second floor to the ground like a parkour athlete, and then ran briskly in another direction.
The assassins closely followed him all the way, even Varys joined the pursuit team. As before, Frank would have turned around and killed them all, but in order to preserve the evidence in his possession, he could only try to get rid of them.
Soon, he was forced by the assassins into a high-rise building by the Seine River. Varys instructed his men to block all exits of the building, while he personally led ordinary people to rush into the building to search for Frank.
Now it's Frank's home field, he has retreated into the shadows, waiting for his prey to come knocking on his door. Varys is also ambitious, daring to act separately in such a place. Frank, like a cunning lion, ambushed and killed his prey one by one, slowly leaving only Varys.
In the end, Frank blocked Varys on the rooftop, who was alone. This guy was both surprised and delighted when he saw Frank appearing in front of him, completely devoid of the fearful expression he had seen in Budapest before. This made Frank even more convinced that the person he killed at the time was not the same person as the one in front of him.
Frank: "Let me guess, that's a fall guy, you're the real one."
Varys: "Which one did you say? That time in Budapest?"
Frank: "I knew it, how could someone who dares to assassinate the Russian president be so cowardly."
Varys: "You have surprised us, Mr. Worden. You have such great ability to sabotage our actions alone. You should join us, Arthur will definitely value you."
Frank: "And then I became a Rogue agent like they said? Hmph, No fucking way!"
Varys: "You can't beat us. Our scale is beyond your imagination."
Frank: "Are you saying there are other people besides Ludwig and Mars?"
Varys neither affirmed nor denied, but changed the topic.
Varys: "Do you know what happens to people who are too persistent? Look at Jefferson de Lasse, Grane, and Byron."
Frank: "They are all innocent, you guys killed them!"
Varys:"So what? Are you gonna to kill me or interrogate me? You should know that one of us can't leave standing, right?"
Frank: "Oh, are you really capable to get rid of me?"
As soon as the words fell, Varys suddenly pulled out a SIG P226 from behind and aimed it at Frank. But Frank was faster, shooting Varys in the chest early and piercing through his body. Varys suddenly felt suffocated, stumbled backwards, and finally slipped and fell from the rooftop into the Seine River. Frank watched his body sink into the Seine River and couldn't help but exclaim that the water was getting dirtier and dirtier.
Ludwig informed Komnenos of Frank's appearance and pinned the blame for the attempted assassination at the Elysée Palace on him. Combined with the evidence from surveillance footage, Komnenos truly believed what Ludwig said and immediately dispatched all Grey Runners to search and arrest Frank.
Frank knew that Paris couldn't stay anymore, and the evidence in his hands was still not enough for him. The insiders that HOG has installed within the organization are interrelated. Even if Ludwig falls, other people like Mars will still step in to replace him, and their own grievances cannot be cleared up. Helpless, he could only choose to temporarily leave here to avoid the limelight. He set his next destination on the other side of the ocean, the United States. Specifically, it is the southern United States, a place full of opportunities.
Before leaving, he secretly visited de Lasse Manor and coincidentally met Rita, who had already returned home. She looked very melancholic, as the death of her father and the disappearance of her lover had a huge impact on her. She doesn't want to talk to anyone about this, so she's always alone during this time. Without their support, she became increasingly confused.
Sitting alone in the manor, she began to reminisce about the moments she had with Frank before, and couldn't help but shed tears. Frank, who was watching her from a distance, also felt very sorry for her current situation. Now he could go straight over and confront her, telling her that everything was a huge conspiracy. But this will completely put her in danger, and even if she believes in herself, she won't be able to help much.
Frank spoke his last words of love to Rita through the air, then turned around and left. The next second, Rita seemed to have a telepathic sense and immediately looked in his direction, noticing the back of him as he left. She rushed out of the manor at all costs, hoping to catch up with him. But when he arrived outside, he disappeared without a trace. She leaned helplessly against the wall, her negative emotions finally reaching their peak, and she couldn't help but cry out.
After a while, she looked up and saw a postcard pressed against a stone under the street lamp on the corner.
Every time Frank comes to pick her up, the car will stop at that streetlight. She quickly walked over there, took out the pressed postcard, and then saw the content written on it with a pen. She could tell at a glance that it was Frank's notes, very messy.
"I will come back for you, and make them pay for everything they have done to us!"
This sentence did not admit or deny the charge of being pressed down, but the moment Rita saw it, she understood that her beloved man had not lost himself, he had been striving hard. As for the outcome, she could only quietly wait for news when he returned, whether it was good or bad.
