Dear Risa,
This evening we made it to Setemup. The Guild is kinda full, so we’re in a room with two sets of bunk beds. Which sucks. But oh well.
So, I need to preface everything I’m about to write by saying Cali Shenanigans was granted Permit #GV1206A to use charm magic. She was questioned and tested, and found worthy.
In Stoneford, the priest gave her a giant, uncarved rhodonite with the purpose of turning it into a boost stone. And not a little boost, no, a 100-level boost.
I really wish I’d paid attention to their conversation. But hey, whatever she said must have been true and had a pure intent behind it, or else he wouldn't have handed it over.
She didn't want to tell us cuz it’s super illegal. Which, fair. But she has a permit and a priest’s blessing, so who am I to not trust her?
Luke absolutely refused to have anything to do with it. Which, also fair, he could get his class scrubbed and sent to jail forever if she uses it for evil. I don't want my boyfriend to go to jail forever, so I approve. Besides, if Cali messes up the rune engraving, then she’ll just be left with a worthless, not-illegal-at-all rock. Which she didn't even pay for, so nothing lost!
If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
We kinda forgot to ask what she wants to do with level… 150-ish charm magic. I feel like it might be best if I never find out.
To repeat: Cali was given the gem by a priest in Stoneford, and she has a permit to use its associated magic.
Wiiiith that out of the way, I haven't heard anything from the Goddess lately. She said if we weren't doing a good enough job of warning people within fifteen days of getting the message, she’d tell us and then get more people to tell everyone. Fifteen days was yesterday, so we must be doing a good job.
It’d be kinda interesting to see a map of how many people have been warned. And I’m not just saying that because I want to know if we’re doing the best job of spreading the word.
I bet we are. I mean, sure, it took a few days to get to the city and start, but now governments and churches are involved. Not just random teenagers with glowing hair.
Since we got here kinda late, we have to wait until tomorrow to take the documents to the king. Meaning we’ll probably spend all day here. I might have time to get my claws done. That would be good. They’re getting ragged.
I mean, a full spa day would be lovely, but you know how hard it is to find a good spa that allows unknown walk-ins. Even if I scoured the city tonight for an appointment tomorrow, I probably wouldn't find one. Settling for a claw filing is fine.
I’m loving traveling, but it would be good to stay in one place for a week. I'll bring it up when we get to Mouse.
Long-clawed Regards,
Maeve Zee
