Chapter 2

Unknown Island Arc -- Chapter 2

The world of Il'Rithe, a beautiful world with endless blue sky, majestic mountains

with peaks that pierced the heavens, verdant and vibrant rainforests home to the

many different creatures of the world, the vast and boundless plains where giants

roam, and lastly the deep blue sea, the bottomless abyss where who knows what

  creatures lurks within.

In this beautiful and enchanting world, on an unknown island located at who knows

where, 8-10 meters below the surface, a young man was sleeping soundly. Tucked

in comfortably in his sleeping bag, Arren made no signs of waking up.

Yesterday, after getting his hands on the shovel, Arren exerted all his strength digging

his temporary housing tunnel. Using the inventory to store away the dug up soil,

he then used it to block the path starting from the outside forming a meter tall mound

up until halfway through the tunnel.

What about air? How was he supposed to breath underground you ask? Well look

no further, Sys got him covered.

With the Inarri Dwarfed Tree creating breathable air, Arrens need for oxygen underground

was easily solved. With it, the need to create air passageways was eliminated making

it more safe and secure for him to sleep at night. Going back to the sleeping beauty,

  Arren moved.

Twisting and turning himself inside the sleeping bag, Arren slowly opened his eyes and

surveyed his surrounding. Seeing that it was dark, he propped himself up into sitting

position. With a still droopy eyes, he yawned.

  "Sys, what time is it?"

[Its already 5:41 in the morning host.]

Hearing Sys, Arren made an oh sound and opened the inventory window. Taking

out the lamp that he had bought together with the Inarri Dwarfed Tree yesterday,

he flipped on the switch and instantly it illuminated the place brightly. Because

of the sudden brightness, Arren could not help but look away and squint his eyes.

After some time, Arren who had adjusted to the light, looked around and sighed

emotionally. Yesterday, he went all out digging completely forgetting everything else.

Though the space was small, it was after all big enough for him.

Shaking his head awake, he suddenly heard his stomach growl and then felt intense

hunger that came along with it. Rubbing his empty stomach, Arren opened the system

store window to check what food being sold.

"Are you f*cking kiddin me? WTF is this? 1 Life Point for a set meal? Is this like some

super secret recipe that could make one become stronger? Sys, hey Sys, what

the hell is this? Whats with the food price?"

Roared Arren. It was only natural that he flipped out since 1 Life Point is equal to

  1,000,000 Zirin.

[Host, the system set the prices justly. Host should remember that being able to buy

food in the middle of nowhere where no edible things exist is totally the advantage

  the host have for survival.]

After hearing Sys, Arren rolled his eyes.

"Oh please, in the middle of nowhere? No edible things? Didnt I kill a crab just

yesterday? Dont tell me thats not edible."

After saying that, Arren closed the window and got up. Crawling on all fours to one

side, he kept the sleeping bag, the stone dials and the small tree. Afterwards, he

hung the lamp around his neck, took out the shovel and started digging his way out.

You were wondering about the small tree right? You remembered that living things will

die if stored inside the inventory right? Well guess what, its dead as f*ck. Thats why

it now has a hole where mana stone is inserted in.

Since the soil was already loosened, it only took him about 15-20 minutes to make

his way out above ground. Oh, and by the way, if you were wondering about the tunnel

as well, it was dug angled downwards and not straight down.

Getting himself out of the hole, Arren looked around. From where he was standing he

could see footprints all over the place. Going close to some not far from him, he began

checking it to see if he could identify what creature left it.

"Damn, this thing is big. Small ones and larger ones? Is it a pack roaming at night?

Hey Sys, what kind of creature left this? This is the first time Ive seen these prints or

  maybe I forgot."

Asked Arren as he had read some books about magic beasts, demonic beasts,

Stolen content alert: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences.

divine beasts and other creatures that could not be classified on any of the categories

back when he was still at the Cyne Clan.

[Host will know in the future when host have enough strength.]

"Come on, dont be petty. Just tell me already."

[Host will know in the future when host have enough strength.]

"Damn it Sys. Fine, a clue, a little clue should be enough."

[Host will know in the future when host have enough strength.]

"Fine, just forget it. Dont tell, like I care."

Annoyed with the repeated answer, Arren decided to stop asking. Rubbing his stomach

with one hand, he looked around to find things he could use for cooking. Seeing the

forest not far from him, he decided to go and take a look. Making his way into the forest,

slowly moving about while looking left and right to make sure there were no danger, just

a few feet away before entering the forest, a window suddenly popped up right in front

  of him.

Frightened by the sudden appearance of a quest window, Arren could not help but

  curse.

"F*ck, could you not do that? Are you trying to kill me Sys! Could you please tell me

first before you pop something up right in front of me."

But his anger was met with silence, annoyed, he cursed and cursed while walking in.

After entering the forest, Arren felt the air around him changed. Sniffing around, he

could tell that the smell coming from the sea was gone and what replaced it was the

smell of trees, the fallen leaves and some flowery scent that drifted around him.

Taking in deep breaths, Arren felt himself calming down, he felt relax and free. Going

back to what he was doing, Arren now had a smile hanging on his lips while humming

a tune, hopped around like a little bunny in search of firewood.

Going deeper inside the forest, Arren was able to pile up a lot of fallen leaves and

branches. Content after seeing the pile, he decided to put all of it inside the inventory

and with a thought, everything in front of him disappeared. With his initial goal done,

he checked his left forearm to see if theres a tattoo for the quest.

After checking both arms, not seeing anything new or different, Arren was puzzled.

"Hey Sys, I just remembered. How do I check the quests? Wheres the tattoo for it?"

[Host needs to be at least level 5 to access the quest function.]

"What do you mean needs level 5? Then where did the 1st and 2nd quest came

from then? How am I going to check my progress then?"

[Host needs to be at least level 5 to take quests directly from the system and not

from me. The host can freely choose what quests to take and not take as well.

The 2 quests that had been given to the host directly came from me as your system

support. Host can ask me for the current progress of the quests.]

  "Arent you the system Sys?"

[Host, I was created by the system with the sole purpose of giving the host support.

This system support is only but a small part of the system.]

Feeling himself getting more and more confused, Arren asked Sys to show the quest.

"Clover Leaf Mushrooms? Is it a clover or a mushroom? Which one is it bro."

After mumbling, he walked forward to look for it. Taking a step, he halted remembering

that he didnt know what it would look like and how to find it. Scratching his head while

  looking around, he asked.

"Hey Sys, um how do I find this mushrooms and what does it look like by the way?"

[Host, the skill Gods Obeservers Eyes will help host on the problem.]

"OMG, how stupid! Hey Sys why didnt you remind me earlier?"

Hearing what Sys said, Arren slapped both his cheeks making them red. Indeed, he

had bought a skill and some other cool items. Not only he had armor for protection,

  theres weapons as well.

Being reminded, Arren opened the inventory and took out all the items that he had

bought. Seeing it in front of him, he could not hide his excitement and hurriedly

donned the armors. Body armor, pants, boots, helm, armguard and the gloves,

Arren checked himself wearing the armor.

"Hot damn, I look good. Damn, it perfectly fits as well. If only there was a mirror this

bro definitely looks awesome in this."

After admiring himself for a few more moments, Arren loaded the crossbow deciding

on it to take while storing the spear. Picking up a book on his side, he could see

the words "Gods Observers Eyes" on the cover. Turning to the first page, he saw the

book glowing then suddenly, hundreds of specks of white light flowed out from it and

  went into his head.

Feeling the sudden forceful imprenting of knowledge into his head, Arren could not

help but moan weirdly and closed his eyes.

"Ohhhhh, ohhh..... This feel so f*cking weird. Ohhh..."

A minute later, opening his eyes, the first thing he did was to slam the book on the

ground. But before he could slam it down, the book suddenly became tiny specks

  of light and then vanished.

"F*ck! Hey book, come back here, you hear! You brain r*ped me, let me f*cking

  destroy you!"

After howling he went to check the inventory to see if the book was there but

after doing a close check, he could not find it anywhere.

"Hey Sys, what happened to that book?"

[Host has already gained the content of the book, the book already disolved.]

"Fine, tsk. Then how do I use the skill then?"

[Host, go to the skill function and activate it. Skill is currently turned off.]

"Turned off? Its a passive skill right?"

Murmuring to himself, Arren opened the skill window.

Scratching his head, puzzled to why theres an "On and Off" on a passive skill, he asked.

"Hey Sys, this is a passive skill right? Whats the On/Off for?"

[Host, Passive and Active skills are different. Active skills requires energy from the host

to use while Passive skills requires only the level or none at all. Host, I will give you a

scenario on which host will definitely want the On/Off option. Gods Observers Eyes at

level 7, host would be able to use X-ray vision. Although it is good for peeking at the

ladies, would host like to see naked men running around in front while there D*]

"STOP!!!!!! STOP STOP STOP, STOP!!! I get it, I get it now! Please stop already!"

Panting like he had ran a marathon, Arren wiped the non-existent sweat from his

forehead. Thinking about again, definitely, no, "absolutely" the option is needed.

"Damn, I hope I dont have nightmares tonight. And what energy are you talking

about anyway? How come I dont see it on my status?"

[Host needs to be at least level 10 to use energy.]

Making an oh sound, he turned the skill on and his vision blurred for a couple of

seconds, after that, everything around him had a small window display. Looking

around, he noticed that informations displayed by things around 5 meters ahead

of him were clear while everywhere else around were blurred. Moving forward,

new displays clears up and backing away, those blurred again.

Doing a few more experiments, he figured out that, 5 meters in front of him, all

displayed informations will be clear. In order to see informations far away clearly,

he had to focus his eyes on a target for about 5 seconds but at the same time,

other windows around blurs. Also theres a limit of 15-20 meters focusing on a far

  off window displayed.

Finished with his little experiment, Arren went to look for the said mushrooms.

Though he was very hungry, he thought that since he was already there, he might

as well do it. Walking a few tens of meters, under a gigantic tree, he saw a few fist

size mushrooms, and just like the name implied, its a mushroom at the same time a

  clover, well maybe.

A four leaf clover shaped mushroom the size of an adults fist drooping down

forming an umbrella. Squatting down, instead of picking it up, he read the displayed

information first making sure that it was safe to pick.

Arren blinked a few times, surprised.

"Ohhh.... Its good for the body, might as well find more to keep some for ."

Picking it all up and storing it inside the inventory, Arren managed to gather 7 pieces

in one go. A smile hung on his lips as he felt that he was very lucky. Looking around,

he walked towards another direction to try his luck.

Walking tens of meters towards that direction, having a feeling that he would find

something good behind the tree in front of him, Arren pranced his way around.

After getting around the tree, he who was prancing about came to a sudden halt.
