Tonight’s encounter was a girl in her early twenties with a big backpack and a messy appearance. When I walked past her she called to me and asked if I had a cig. I told her I didn’t as I left the packet at home.
She was already leaving when she turned again towards me and asked “do you know a place where I could sleep?”
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
I proceeded to tell her the way to the nearest hotel and the nearest hostel to which she said “I have no money on me, can I sleep at your home?”
I couldn’t host her.
I told her I was sorry but she couldn’t.
I wished her good luck and kept walking my dog, glancing now and then at the troubled girl as she went away while looking for people.
