6. Rewards

I should make my way to the Tanner now, right? Or to Olga? Tannery first, I guess. Even though I am tired now. Maybe I should take a break before Olga’s home instead? Yeah, let’s do that.

  ~30 Minutes ter~

Should I go to the Tannery by now? I am fully rested and have only a hour left to py for the day.

Lorelei looks around from her bench, were she sits mostly idle, and sees the group of three walking to were she is. She waves at them no everyone approaches were she is.

”Honey, where were you? We waited an Eternity for you.”

”Ara, weren’t you just rexing here whip we dealt with the mess Gelbert created?”

  ”Yes, I did.”

”Haha, a good attitude, missy. We want to talk about the rewards. First is pying errand boy for nearly all of us, afterwards exposing Gelbert and then dealing with the Guards, giving us all the time we need. Should amass to something pretty nicely. Could we see your card?”

  “This one?”

  ”Yeah.”

Brock took control of the Situation and asked for her adventurer card. He is surprisingly meticulous, even noticing the time of registration was after she was escorted by the guards. It seems it left a good impression by Brock, to deal with “important” things first, while the tailor is worried about her priorities. Olga is very passive, but seems to have something to say, just not now.

”Okay, how about this. Currently, you are too weak to even wear a breastpte or heather shield, sooo… wait, you want a heather one, right? Not some weird tower shield.”

”I thought of either having a kite or heather one.”

”Can’t recommend kite shield. To much effort to maintain, to expensive and not effective enough against monster. If the little f*ckers are too small to block, just thank them with your boots. A kite also wouldn’t do much difference.”

Lorelei nodded seriously at the advice. It came from a dwarf, the number one Bcksmith and Heavy Armoured race.

”Ah, but my Weapon right now…”

”A short swords is it? What about it?”

  ”Ahem, my inclination is, well…”

”Ah, your serious about, huh, don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone. Is any other weapon types?”

”It was two handed great weapons.”

”Oh, don’t worry to much about that.”

  ”Are Halberds included in that?”

”Yesn’t. There is something like a heavy halberd, but the standard editions is still fine.”

  ”Aree~ aren’t Halberds heavy?”

”Yes, but they are two handed pole arms, so don’t worry about it. Okay, now from beginning. The (revised) pn now is giving you a standard editions are casted sword, and having you do some tasks for us. Slowly, you will earn yourself some iron armour parts. Tai here will make you undergarment for it, regardless fin what you accomplish, fine?”

  ”Yes.”

”Then, your first task would be to get stronger. At level five I will give a you graduation gift, what about it?”

  ”Thank you.”

Lorelei bowed to Brock and the Group. By the way, the Tailors name is Taile, spoken like Ta-I-, not Tai-.

”Don’t worry about it missy, we got the goddess guidance for supporting the first on who does this job right.”

Brock left with that, but Tai soon picked up were he left.

”Olga, darling, we need to get her measurements. Would it bother you if I take her into your house?”

  ”Help yourself.”

Not like that she was reserved, as she already pulled me into the direction before she asked. And soon after I was led into a side room that seems to be exclusively for studying or writing. Only a chair and desk with some papers, ink and quills on it.

”Please hold still for a bit.”

I don’t know were she got the tape measure from. And for your information, she doesn’t have any pockets or a bag. At least it don’t see anything.

”Are you already experienced with getting measured?”

  ”Yes.”

  …

  ”Where?”

”A tailor store from where I come.”

  …

”It’s only a faint inkling, but could it be, taut you are bad at socialising?”

”Generally yes, but I do get Alton with some nice people.”

”Thats nice. A good friend is worth more then a hundred average ones.”

  …

  “Are you always like this?”

”No, when o talk to a good friend, I tend to add needless stuff into the conversation.”

  ”Aha.”

… this time it was your fault!

”Ehem, what do you tend to say than?”

”Random bits of general knowledge, or what I think about it.”

  …

”Okaayyy, that’s it. You can go now.”

  ”Thank you.”

Instead of leaving the house, Lorelei walks into the living room, were she drank tea with Olga. Seated on the table is said Alchemist, drinking Tea. Mint, when one had to guess. Without looking explicitly at her, Olga points at the chair opposite to her.

”You wanted to talk with me?”

”Yes. First, I would like to ask a question. Why a Knight?”

”I was curious. And I wanted to try.”

”There are many csses which are a better fit for satisfying curiosity, or for you.”

”Well, I stand for my decision.”

”Fine. But I must say, it bothers me.”

”Anything else you want to discuss?”

  ”Yes. You remember the Tea.”

  ”Hard to forget.”

“I want to make various concoctions which taste good. You are one of the Wanderers I ask for cooperation.”

”Fine by me. But what did bother you so much before? At the bench, I mean.”

  ”You weren’t this talkative before.”

”No, I am not, as long as i am not interested.”

“It’s nothing. Just an old dy’s rumbling.”

”Hmm. For your concoction, did you tried iced tea’s or milk tea’s?”

Olga looked a bit dumbfounded. Why did she switch the topic so fast? Isn’t she interest at all?

”The first thing you did after entering the town was trying to complex the “Quest” involving us Craftsman. Why?”

  ”First come, first serves.”

”Let me rephrase. What was your goal?”

  ”The Rewards?”

  ”Are you unsure yourself?”

  ”Guess so.”

*sigh* “Fine. You won’t tell me. For your question, I tried cold tea, but didn’t think of milk tea. Anything else?”

”No, I am not a tea expert.”

  …

”Your seriously cutting off our conversation like that?!”
