The once clamorous battlefield is now as peaceful as a tree by a lake. All knights in silver armor lie on the ground unable to harness their mana, not just them, even Serene Will and Sky Petal find their mana disrupted whenever they attempt to use it.
Only one man remains unscathed in this situation, the same one who is in the air looking down on everyone.
He casually glances towards the two women, but a profound thought can be glimpsed in his eyes behind his actions.
"This should be a Day of Silence for the kingdom. How can those who protect order be the same ones to stain it with blood?"
No one can respond to his words. More precisely, no one dares to. Everyone present knows this man seeks no answers.
"Who is the commander?"
A knight in silver armor stands out from the rest and bows respectfully.
"Explain the situation."
The knight recounts how he was punishing criminals who dared to murder on the Day of Silence, when he learned about four hunters slain by two huntresses, Serene Will and Sky Petal.
"Excuse me, may I know the name of the esteemed ranker?"
"Dire Passage."
The man states his name as if it were unimportant, yet the commander's reaction is vastly different.
"The elder from the Eternal Wind Sect?"
The third major sect of the Heavenly Path Kingdom? Why would such an elder be in this remote location?
The commander is nervous, the Eternal Wind Sect is considered the most prominent of the three major sects of the Heavenly Path Kingdom. With such an elder present, whether god or devil, they must bow their heads!
"The witnesses had left the scene, so I took the trouble of sending someone to bring them back."
With a wave of his hand, one of Dire Passage's men brings along three men. None of them follow of their own will, powerful magic hinders all their movements.
"Esteemed elder, the sentence has already been pronounced."
The commander interrupts hastily, there are facts that must not be revealed. "These women are accused of murder, if the esteemed elder would allow us, we--"
Dire Passage cuts him off. "Do not think I am unaware of your deeds. Keep quiet, and we will settle this calmly."
'Damn! Curse it!' The commander clenches his teeth and falls back into silence.
"Speak, what did you see?"
The three men recount the events with nervousness, most astonishingly, none of their words contradict, a very well-crafted speech.
"Is that so?"
But what could escape the eyes of an elder who has lived for hundreds of years? Internally, Dire Passage knows who the criminal here is, but he has only acted out of curiosity. Whether or not the scenario satisfies his interest will depend on those two women.
His gaze shifts towards them, without a satisfactory answer, he himself will kill them! Because here, the truth is not important, but the gains he can extract from this situation are!
Serene Will takes a deep breath and looks discreetly at Sky Petal. Her gaze says it all, so she responds with a smile.
"We have evidence that they are the real murderers."
"Oh."
Is that all? Dire Passage sighs, expecting more than this.
Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
"Seven kilometers away is a dry well, inside which is a storage ring containing all the belongings of the dead hunters."
"You lie!"
The three men do not hesitate to interrupt her, unaware of the elder's smile.
"Even if true, how would you know? Do not be deceived, they themselves could have hidden it there to evade the scrutiny of the authorities."
Before they could continue to attack her, Serene Will intervenes.
"Impossible, we have not set foot in this city for days. You will say we have accomplices, but I regret to inform you that the time we have been in this city does not exceed five days."
Dire Passage watches the situation cheerfully, deciding to speak once he gathers the information he needs.
"Let's head to that well, few things can escape the eyes of this old man."
The three men tried to stop him, but what authority do they have to do so? Dire Passage does not even look at them, it is his servant who silences the men and forces them to walk.
During the journey, the curious eyes of the crowd remain on them, no one wants to miss the conclusion of this drama.
Upon reaching the well, Dire Passage expands his mana, and from the well, a dirty ring appears.
"As the lady said, the belongings are inside."
"That changes nothing!"
"Of course it does. By fluctuating the mana in the environment, it's possible to discern traces of those who were here. Their traces are vile, hidden under the guise of piety."
Dire Passage closes his eyes and then looks at the three men. "For committing murders on the Day of Silence and for lying blatantly, your sentence is death."
"Elder! Mercy!"
"Gray Army, execute the elder's order."
"Damned bastard, if I'm going down, I'll take you with me! I'll tell everything--!"
"Cut out his tongue! Do not let him continue to dishonor the Gray Army!"
The knights in silver armor sense the oddness in the situation, but as it involves their commander, they dare not speak out for fear of losing their modest jobs.
Just before executing his order, a woman with black hair stops in front of them.
"The sentence has been pronounced, you are innocent, do not interrupt the Gray Army's duty."
Still, the woman remains there. Only this time, she looks towards the elder Dire Passage.
"May I?"
Dire Passage is taken aback for a second, then he nods.
"Proceed."
"Bitch! All this is because of you!"
Serene Will silently approaches the three men and unsheathes her sword.
"Ah, no… Ah! AAAAGH!"
Again and again, her sword slices through their flesh, blood spattering the ground without a drop touching her delicate body. All the people in the crowd are shocked, for although the woman's beauty is unmatched, so too is her cruelty!
Minutes pass before the men die, having endured a hellish existence. In response, Dire Passage shakes his head, but at no point does he intend to stop her.
"This belongs to you."
Before they leave the site, he tosses the storage ring of the three men along with the one found in the well.
"Hold no grudge, I will clean up this city while I remain here. In the coming days, everything should return to normal."
Serene Will directs her gaze from the elder to the commander of the Gray Army, then turns and walks away with Sky Petal. She knows those three men did not act alone, but her strength is insufficient to act at this moment.
"The City Lord wishes to speak with you."
The commander trembles in fear upon hearing the elder's words. He swallows before asking, "Elder, if I may… Why did you do it?"
"..."
Dire Passage moves away from the commander, everyone would think he left him mid-sentence, but then the answer reaches their ears.
"The Eternal Wind Sect would never turn away such talents. Even if they were guilty, as long as their attitude was right, the outcome would remain the same."
The commander is startled, now everything is clear. After taking a deep breath, he decides his next moves.
He will betray everyone to save his own skin! There are many cities, but only one life!

Two days pass in the blink of an eye.
Lawrence memorized dozens of lines to say to Coldness Divine. At first, she wouldn't listen to him, but as the days passed, her dragon instincts prevented her from continuing to ignore him, so she reluctantly decided to make Lawrence her guest again.
Their relationship seemed to have regressed, but in exchange, it headed down a new path. One very different from those taken by the men in her reverse harem.
"A week… I must check on the progress of those women."
He spares no resources to disguise his appearance, while also making his destination difficult to discern. He does not know if eyes are still on him, but it never hurts to be cautious.
Habit becomes custom.
Upon arriving at Ice Petal City, Lawrence deviates from the path several times before reaching his destination.
"Lawrence…"
Upon opening the door, two beautiful women greet him.
"Lawrence, we have something to tell you."
He interrupts them and creates a Dimensional Rift. "Not here, let's talk in the Inferior Plane."
After crossing the Dimensional Rift, Lawrence listens to their report of what happened in the week they were apart.
"You!"
Then he presses Serene Will against the wall.
"Congratulations, you've reached level 360, but do you know what? In the Divine Plane, such a level is nothing! Just a speck of dust! What would you have done had you not caught that elder's attention?"
The woman who fought fiercely against dozens of knights in silver armor allows her husband to speak to her face without any consequence.
"Get rid of your protagonist role! In the Inferior Plane, you could do whatever you wanted, not here. Understand once and for all, you've returned to level one! A mortal facing gods has only one outcome!"
"...I- I'll be more careful."
"Tsk."
After releasing her, Serene Will looks at her husband's back.
Without showing a trace of hatred for the man in front of her, her master.
