Coldness Divine sees the paper on the desk and sighs, despite her attempts to mull over the matter, she simply can't find a way to resolve the dilemma.
During one of her walks through the mansion, she notices a garden filled with spiritual herbs, none of which belong to the Inferior Plane. How is it possible that they have perfectly adapted to this environment so devoid of mana?
Whoever did it must have deep knowledge in the field.
“One of them must have done this.”
Coldness Divine wanted to minimize her contact with Lawrence’s wives, but apparently, it was impossible from the start.
“Maid.”
“Do you need something, lady?”
Initial Spark still doesn’t know how to interact with the new ranker who has just arrived. If she were human, she would feel more at ease, but she isn’t! She is a noble dragon! How can her little nanny speak to a dragon? Is it an honor or a boldness to stand before her?
She fears that just one wrong word might end up costing her head, because in the eyes of a dragon, she is no different from an ant.
“Who cultivated those spiritual herbs in the garden?”
“It was lady Sky Petal, my only job is to care for them as per her instructions.”
She politely answers her question, to which the lady nods and leaves the place. Initial Spark breathes a sigh of relief, having successfully navigated this tribulation.
Coldness Divine walks through the wide corridors of the mansion until she reaches a certain room. Upon opening it, she is amazed by the view before her. The item at the center of the room is clearly of the highest quality, just what she was looking for.
“Ah…”
Their gazes then meet.
“Do you need something, Coldness Divine?”
“Sky Petal, is it yours?”
What her eyes point to is none other than a pill furnace. The Twin Phoenix Furnace that Serene Will praised for its rarity and uniqueness.
“It’s not, but I’m the only one who uses it.”
Since she stayed in the Inferior Plane due to her pregnancy, Sky Petal has not been separated from this pill furnace. In a way, interacting with the processes carried out inside it are just as interesting as interacting with the flora of the world.
They bear a strange resemblance.
Coldness Divine can tell that the furnace has been used repeatedly, so she looks closely at Sky Petal and decides to hand her a piece of paper.
“This is…”
Sky Petal immediately understands its meaning. “A fertility pill.”
Coldness Divine is amazed at her quick response, but does not show it in her expression.
“That’s right. Dragons possess one of the worst fertilities, elves are nothing in comparison. But… This recipe loses its effectiveness above level two hundred, I’ve tried updating it without any success.”
This recipe is no different from a national treasure, if revealed, the archetypal dragons would overpopulate the Inferior Plane. That she is handing it over so easily implies that her trust in Lawrence is enough for some of this trust to be inherited by her.
Coldness Divine laughs at herself as she considers this idea.
“Its reconstruction would involve herbs from the Divine Plane…”
Rather than talking to her, Sky Petal seems to be talking to herself.
“The ones I currently possess are not enough, I require the herb… the herb… Wait a bit, I haven’t memorized their names yet, but I know with this at least we could give it a try…”
Sky Petal searches through the pages of a book and then stops on one of them.
“Here it is, Mediterranean Sap herb. It’s a miniature tree, with golden leaves and red flowers. In addition to the Twilight Green herb, but that we could replace with…”
If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
Coldness Divine narrows her eyes as she sees Sky Petal mentioning spiritual herbs one after another, as if…
“Do you know how to update this recipe?”
Sky Petal stops and nods with a smile on her face. “It’s not difficult.”
“…”
For a moment, Coldness Divine almost coughs blood.
Pill refining is not her thing, now she is sure that Sky Petal’s knowledge far surpasses hers. What follows is to find out if she really can come up with the answer, if so, this diamond in the rough is worth polishing.
During one of Lawrence’s visits, they make him aware of their needs.
“Mediterranean Sage herb?”
He doesn’t remember hearing that name before, but understands that it’s not an herb that novices can experiment with. Coldness Divine clenches her teeth, if she explains why she needs it she’s sure this ape will mock her, but given the circumstances, there’s no choice but--
“I’ll pay for it.”
Unexpectedly a voice comes from behind her, it’s Serene Will.
“You misunderstand me, Serene Will, money is not of importance.”
“Progress requires sacrifices, even if they squander a high-grade spiritual herb, this opportunity will serve as a learning experience.”
Lawrence knows that something has been hidden by wives one and two, but he is surprised that wife three joins them. He has been playing dumb to foster their growth, it pains him that they trust a newcomer more than himself.
‘Is it time to interfere?’ After thinking this, Lawrence shakes his head. So far his method hasn’t failed, he will let them do what they want. Sooner or later the rewards will come.
“Hah, tomorrow you’ll have it in your hands.”
The next day Lawrence arrives enraged.
“It cost two million gold for the damn bonsai! I know I rejected your proposal yesterday, but today I gladly accept it, Serene Will.”
“…”
Even Serene Will frowns upon finding out that the spiritual herb costs more than she originally thought. She looks at Sky Petal and, after reading her mind and knowing she has confidence in the success, she sighs and pays half for the herb with Lawrence.
She has the most money in the group, she feels a bit of remorse seeing Lawrence worry about the drop in his funds, but she will continue to remain silent.
Money can pave the way.
“This spiritual herb is unique, impossible to cultivate and reproduce. It can only be found in swampy lands that have a cliff nearby, that herb grows there. An abundance of mana is not strictly necessary, but… that’s all that is known about it.”
Lawrence recounts the words of the seller. In his quest for a discount, he swallowed the story of this bonsai in the process. He doesn’t want to accept it, but he fears he will remember it for a long time.
“Refine it once you’re sure of the success, finding a similar one will be difficult.”
This herb was about to be sent to an auction because nobody had enough funds to buy it. If it weren’t because Lawrence showed cash, the seller wouldn’t accept offers!
Upon receiving it in her hands, Sky Petal falls silent for a moment and then smiles.
“Lawrence, I think I found a way to recover your money.”
Not only he, but the others are also surprised.
“The Mediterranean Sage herb knows its origins. If you provide me the necessary resources, it’s possible to cultivate this herb and replicate it.”
Everyone takes a deep breath. What Sky Petal just said is akin to cultivating two million gold and harvesting them like radishes and cabbages. If that’s not surprising, then what is!
“Hahaha, are you serious?”
Lawrence can hardly control his smile.
“I wouldn’t lie to you.”
“Hahaha! Ask for whatever you want, I’ll make sure it’s in your hands in the coming days.”
Sky Petal returns from the mansion with a list in her hands, Dead Sea flower, Subtle Dusk herb, Hope Flower, and Alicante Flower. After receiving an explanation from her part, Lawrence returns to the Divine Plane fearing these plants might lose their stock. He’ll go buy them even if he has to skip his sleeping hours.
After their husband leaves, the three women remain in the place.
Coldness Divine looks at Serene Will and says: “How much did you hear?”
Yesterday Coldness Divine didn’t give it importance, she thought that Serene Will interfered in their conversation because she wanted to help Sky Petal, but as the hours passed she changed her mind.
“Everything.”
Serene Will knows why they require the Mediterranean Sage herb.
Serene Will smiles. “Don’t worry, I won’t tell him. In return, don’t speak of Sky Petal’s hidden talent. It won’t be for long, Lawrence believes he will obtain a great profit from the cultivation of this spiritual herb. He doesn’t know that, if one is successful in refining that pill, its sale will easily far exceed the value of the materials.”
Coldness Divine watches Serene Will leave with narrowed eyes. Not until she was about to enter the mansion did she say: “That Ruk eagle, it belongs to you, right?”
Serene Will stops and looks back in silence.
Coldness Divine then says: “I know how it can break through level 100.”
Not all demonic beasts can level up indefinitely, the species to which Ruk belongs has a limit at level 100. No matter what resources are used on him, he cannot surpass a barrier that lies in his genes and not in a plane.
“What’s your method?”
Coldness Divine smiles seeing the interest in this human. “Draconization, my blood isn’t a precious material for nothing. You should be proud, I have never given my blood for something that didn’t benefit me.”
Despite her arrogance, Serene Will doesn’t even blink. She simply turns around and enters the mansion leaving a few words behind her.
“If that makes you feel more at ease, I accept your bribe.”
It never crossed her mind to tell Lawrence that this pill recipe came from the hands of Coldness Divine, but if she feels more secure this way, so be it.
“Tsk.”
‘How can Lawrence stand having his mind read? I still have no countermeasure for that, it’s infuriating to know that nothing can be hidden from her eyes.’
Very annoyed, Coldness Divine walks away from the place.
Just before doing so, she hears the words of Sky Petal.
“When will you meet Ryan?”
She immediately stops walking.
It has been more than two weeks since her arrival in the Inferior Plane, the same time she has been aware of the words of Lawrence. Since then, she has shown no indication of wanting to meet Ryan.
Coldness Divine looks towards the mansion, even when the walls interfere, she knows that in that direction Initial Spark is taking care of Ryan.
“I’m not ready yet.”
Only she knows the true meaning of her words.
