Chapter 83

The absence of the portal from the clutches of those insects did not alter their plans in the slightest. Lawrence returns to the Inferior Plane and brings with him the female portal, the only connection to the portal he lost that day.

It all happens again. The threat they thought they had overcome through level compression does not vanish, it holds strong, the comprehension of the Way becomes relevant from level 700. They belatedly grasp this fact.

The elders approach them, demonstrating that, against their Ways, their levels mean nothing.

"Coldness Divine, answer me. Is this the first time we've faced them?"

Lawrence thinks he knows the answer, otherwise, she wouldn’t have allowed these men to appear before them. But her answer is far from his expectations.

"No. This is the second time."

Everyone turns their gaze toward her. Amazement, uncertainty, all kinds of emotions are reflected in their faces upon learning that there was a day like this. A day that only Coldness Divine can remember.

"Listen to me, Lawrence, we don't have much time. There is a way to avoid all this, you are the only one who can make those words a reality."

Lawrence is surprised to hear her next statement.

Coldness Divine says: "The prophecy of Prescribed Dream, do you remember what it was?"

"...Not everything that exists causes harm, rather everything is an opportunity. That you have retreated will cause more good than harm."

All sound fades from Lawrence's mind. That conversation he had with Prescribed Dream, the mention of the Sacred Rock Sect, and how she reacted.

Today all of that seems to make sense.

As Lawrence tries to decipher the remaining message, Coldness Divine turns her gaze toward wives one and two, returning the enlightenment they achieved only after facing death.

"Sky, there is more than one. They exist for those who observe them."

Serene Will takes a deep breath. A myriad of questions and answers clear the landscape. Indistinctly, an illusion appears behind her, undergoing radical changes as it gains an understanding of her words.

"Under its waters, hidden life lies."

Coldness Divine waits for changes in the Way of Sky Petal just as with Serene Will, but contrary to expectations…

  "Oh."

  She receives that response.

Sky Petal does not seem different at all, as if the message has not been transmitted correctly. Coldness Divine wonders if her words contain any error, but the smile and gratitude from Sky Petal let her know that is not the case. She has understood perfectly.

Lawrence thinks for a few seconds and then opens his eyes. "I see, that is the only answer."

As the confrontation with the elders was about to erupt, Lawrence regains his senses and looks at those men as nothing more than a borrowed knife.

"Entertain them! I know what I must do!"

His arrogant words are misunderstood by the elders. Elder Cloud is the one who would respond and was about to mock him, when he sees Lawrence activate his teleportation ability and escape alone, leaving his women behind.

  "That trash of a man!"

Opposite to his arrogant and youthful appearance, Elder Cloud feels pity for those women who fell in love with the wrong man and a deep disdain for that man who yearns for life and fears death.

"Tell me his real name and his background! As long as I can find that man, I will make sure to incriminate him and clear your names!"

Sky Petal and Serene Will are astonished at his response, only Coldness Divine maintains her expression, she is the only one who knows the true personality of these men. She knows that only circumstances made them their enemies.

Elder Ash remains silent waiting for their answers. Different from Elder Cloud, he still has his doubts regarding these women, but if the talent demonstrated by that woman is common among the others, he is willing to delve into the truth of this matter and be able to rescue what is salvageable.

The temporary manifestation of the Way of that woman with a long braid left a deep impression on both, they did not believe they could be so condescending in such circumstances, but it is Coldness Divine who destroys their hopes.

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

  "Forgotten Memories."

  "Eh?"

A look of surprise appears on Elder Cloud's face. He expected that speaking ill of that man would provoke some reaction in them, but he did not expect that this dragoness would not only ignore his word but attack him with murderous intent!

Coldness Divine suddenly appears before him, while a second Coldness Divine appears at his back. Both advance and retreat are blocked.

"I hate being the only one to remember this enmity."

She attacks with the intention of ending his life in a single strike, the manifestation of her Way in that regression gave her a deep understanding in this life. Elder Cloud clenches his teeth tightly and tries to deal with this unexpected attack, perhaps due to his initial disdain for the level difference, he did not defend as if his life depended on it, and because of this…

  "Kuh..."

His left arm flies through the air, and a new person appears before Coldness Divine.

"Elder Cloud, never trust anyone. Someday your life will end because of it."

Were it not for the help of Elder Ash, Elder Cloud would easily have died from his negligence.

‘Does my Way not affect others?’ The commotion quickly fades from Coldness Divine's face, and she decides to move away from them. This attack should have stopped time, but not only did that not happen, a third party interfered without being affected by it.

"You return kindness with hatred, you dragons have no honor! You blind your mind with arrogance! Because of this, the Luminare River Kingdom has such rumors around it!"

Elder Cloud does not worry about the severed limb, instead, he remembers his visit to the dragon kingdom and his anger increases, he unsheathes his sword and a golden armor along with a crown appear on his body. This is the trigger for this battle unlike the previous one, but Coldness Divine is unmoved by this.

She wishes to make these men her enemies, only then can she quench this thirst for vengeance.

The ensuing battle required the full concentration of all its participants, the attacks rapidly destroyed the environment, but none were as lethal as the initial one. No one knows how much time passes until a new person appears.

  Lawrence.

The first to discover his intentions is none other than Serene Will, she immediately flies in his direction. Sky Petal and Coldness Divine do not take long to follow her and leave all fighting behind, the elders are puzzled by this, but they quickly understand its meaning.

That teleportation ability again appears before that man and they head exactly to that place.

"Do you think I'll let you escape after all the damage you caused?!"

  "Wait--!"

Elder Cloud follows them without mediating in the matter, while Elder Ash tries to stop him but fails. He sighs and shakes his head, before chasing after him.

Lawrence is the last to cross the Dimensional Rift. Elder Cloud's hand was moments away from touching his body, but that man had already teleported before him. His hand enters the strange rift followed by his body, Elder Ash does the same next.

  "What--?"

For a fraction of a second, both elders manage to see a lake and a mansion in the distance, even those women were there watching them emotionlessly, but the next moment their bodies are again dragged into a new teleportation.

At the end, the environment changes once more, but this is the final destination.

"I predicted this would happen, but not that it would be so fast. Lawrence... How dare you bring strangers to this place!"

Both elders tremble in terror as they see a huge beast heading towards them.

  "A- A qilin!"

"Its level is 600! Our current level is not enough to deal with it!"

Elder Ash retreats trying to cross the portal that transported them to this place, but his hand trembles as he realizes that, the man who once escaped and now holds the portal, grins vilely.

  "Don't you dare!"

His desperate attack is in vain, Lawrence creates a Dimensional Rift and escapes along with the portal, thus eliminating any way to leave this place.

Had he not successfully overcome the Forbidden Area and exited it at least once, it would have been impossible for Lawrence to activate his Dimensional Rift.

  "Bastard!"

The next moment the attack of the Qilin falls on them without mediation.

"Your enemy is that man as well as ours! There is no need for confrontation Qilin!"

With difficulty, they dodge the attack of the legendary beast and try to appease its fury, but all attempts prove fruitless.

"Do you think I don't know that, human?!"

"Then why do you do it!"

The Qilin launches a new attack, exasperating the elders' limited patience. If they do not obtain a reasonable answer, they will have to follow their will even if this results in a battle to the death with the beast.

"Because that is the only meaning of my existence, all intruders must die!"

  "This stupid rampaging beast, King!"

  "Moonlight!"

The foundations are set. The elders manifest their Ways and confront the rampaging beast, the upcoming battle will bring someone's death, and the elders do not wish to be the chosen ones.

  Divine Plane.

  "His level... increased?"

Lawrence, who escaped to the Divine Plane, turns deathly pale.

"The damn level of that deer increased, what the hell is going on here!"

Whether it's his clone or the original body of the Qilin, both have the level 550, it has always been so the times he checked. Or rather, it was. Lawrence did not show it at that moment, with the sole purpose of establishing enmity between both sides, but he was taken aback to see how the level of that beast increased with the arrival of Elder Cloud, and increased again with the arrival of Elder Ash!

"I always believed that the Forbidden Areas existed not for the beings of the Inferior Plane, but for those returning from the Divine Plane, but with this, all conjecture disappears."

"The Forbidden Areas adapt to their challengers!"

This brings with it many questions, but no answers. If so, what do the natives of the Inferior Plane need to overcome them? All the preparations that Lawrence made back then hardly served him to achieve victory, but with much luck.

If Sky Petal could not communicate with the plants, if Serene Will was not willing to sacrifice herself for him, had they not brought only three raiders, if they had not previously known Celestial Firmament, and among many other minor events. Any one of them missing would have meant death, their failure.

The questions weigh heavily on Lawrence's mind, but at some point he notices his surroundings and clicks his tongue. 'It's not time to think about this'

"I must return. If I started all this, I must end it."

Lawrence creates a Dimensional Rift and returns to the Inferior Plane, to the Forbidden Area Cloudsea. There, two men and a legendary beast continue fighting without a clear winner.

"Until that damn deer dies, this won't have ended."
