Agares City, Divine Plane.
“That bastard…”
Lawrence tries to push away these useless thoughts as he looks out the window, but there’s no way to erase that damn deer’s smile.
“What is he doing now on the Inferior Plane? What are his plans?”
The only one who missed the party was that clone, the same one who ate the arm of Serene Will in front of her, who was an identical copy of his original body. Lawrence later realized that the qilin always had the winning card, whether in life or death, both options granted him victory.
Now that the clone is free, figuring out his plans seems impossible.
Sighing, Lawrence closes the window and then leaves his house heading in an unknown direction. At least, it would be unknown to anyone watching, because after walking down a certain alley, he mysteriously disappears.
He walks calmly through the protective barrier and after successfully passing through it, the guards lose interest in him.
“Four days have passed since I skipped work, there seem to be no changes at the Unquenchable Fire Brothel. Everything is the same as always.”
It feels strange to witness this kind of landscape when just a few days ago he was risking his life, going back to work now seems somewhat ridiculous.
After signing his attendance, Lawrence forgets about all the bitches under his charge and focuses on just one of them. He must get an answer today, tomorrow he will worry about the repercussions of his actions.
Facing a spectacular garden and a beautiful mansion, he takes a deep breath before speaking.
“Miss Prescribed Dream, I have returned.”
Seconds later, the door of the mansion opens and a beautiful woman with blue eyes and long hair of the same color appears.
“Lawrence… You should be happy, you don’t seem to be.”
“My appearance has never been the best.”
“Your dark circles look more pronounced.”
She rarely receives him personally, but even less often does she come out of her mansion stopping before him, smiling at him like a friend or even a loved one. If not for the little time they had spent together, Lawrence would be fooled by her behavior.
“Did you know what would happen?”
Once again, those memories come to his mind. Does this woman…?
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. If I had such an ability, I wouldn’t be in this place.”
Not knowing if their conversation ruined the mood, he can only watch as Prescribed Dream turns around and heads back inside her mansion, while he obediently follows her. Once more, he has time to appreciate the curvaceous body of this woman, the beauty behind those thin layers of clothing, but he immediately bites his tongue.
‘Looking at this woman for too long is dangerous.’ Her charm ability slowly corrodes his mind. If he weren’t accustomed, he would fall under temptation.
Their journey ends in the living room, but neither of them takes a seat. Lawrence feels uncomfortable in the face of this woman’s unpredictable behavior, but who does not risk does not gain.
“I’ve known many women, but I still don’t know from which plane you come from.”
He decides to try to answer one of the questions that bothers him the most.
“Oh? Wasn’t it in the documents they gave you?”
“Do you even know that?”
Lawrence feels foolish interacting with this woman. If he weren’t trying to win her over using frankness, he’d fear that hiding things from her would only turn it into a double-edged weapon with which he would eventually be stabbed in the back. Because of this, those dao protectors will never reach his level, as he sees much further than others.
She smiles and says: “Those women, how do they view the Inferior Plane?”
Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.
For a moment Lawrence believes he has obtained the answer.
“Oh, my. And the Divine Plane?”
But soon he falls into despair seeing that this woman was curious about the perception of both planes, ruling out the option by elimination. The answer she desired was not about how it looked externally, but about how each of them felt or understood it.
Recognizing that the opportunity has been lost, Lawrence does not insist on the topic and reveals the main reason for his arrival.
“What must I do to obtain a new prediction from your lips?”
The way he articulates his words incites a smile from Prescribed Dream, whose next action would leave Lawrence bewildered.
Her hand approaches him and one of her fingers gently caresses him from his neck to his chest. The smile on that woman’s face is presumptuous, even flirtatious, her charm ability activates unconsciously infuriating Lawrence internally.
“Look around, do you really think I need anything?”
Lawrence clenches his teeth and tries to be as objective as possible, but quickly his body freezes when he realizes a very simple and superficial fact.
“Art, books, and various items... How could I not notice before?! This phoenix girl has forbidden items!”
Only then did he understand the depth of Prescribed Dream's charm.
If it had been another woman, he wouldn't have made a similar mistake. He thought he had control over this woman's ability, but the opposite was happening. Without knowing when, whenever he was with Prescribed Dream, his eyes were fixed on her, preventing him from noticing that this woman had what was considered forbidden for others.
A bell is in the distance, at first glance a magic artifact, but the most important thing is not this, but what can be inferred from it.
‘The servants of these women are only around in the morning, that's the only time when the women can acquire information and make their requests, but they will only see them fulfilled the next day. Whereas Prescribed Dream...’
That bell serves the purpose of bringing a servant at any moment she desires, fulfilling her whims at any time and place.
“What can you offer me that others cannot?”
Her beautiful face with elegant features gets so close to him with the sole purpose of tempting him. Lawrence still can’t understand which behavior really comes from her, but for the first time he decides to take the risk.
He brings his face close to hers and then retracts it, their noses touch for a fraction of a second, rubbing gently just once. Whatever the real personality of this woman, he is sure of something, this action would have serious consequences.
Prescribed Dream stops her game and moves away from Lawrence immediately.
‘This is the only way if I want to see her true face.’ He knows that with this decision he has gone back a lot, but he cannot allow this woman to continue playing with him and see him as nothing more than a toy.
It’s easier to deal with her hatred than with her vanity.
He was prepared to receive a mortal attack, which while at his level would not harm him, would demonstrate the true personality of Prescribed Dream. Even at the cost of having lost his only opportunity to acquire a prediction from this woman.
None of this becomes reality.
“The sun will shine, decisions you must make. In the end something to regret, but more will there be to celebrate.”
Lawrence stops all thought.
“A prediction?”
“Why didn’t you look at my feet, despite how much I showed them to you?”
His question is answered with another question, to which Lawrence can only frown. She smiles again at the same time as she sits on the sofa with her bare feet.
“Give me a foot massage.”
Her only request is to see him reduced to her feet.
“Tsk.”
Lawrence clicks his tongue, but quickly realizes the error he has made. Until now he has shown servitude, never his discontent. That now he has exposed his thoughts only makes him appear as a man who only wishes to receive but not to give.
Something very soon to reveal.
“I can change my request if you wish.”
But her words again leave Lawrence bewildered. Does this woman not want to humiliate him?
“No, that’s fine.”
He shakes his head and kneels before Prescribed Dream, proceeding to caress her soft feet with the indicated force and in the right spots. As he progresses with the massage, Lawrence understands a very important fact.
“Why are you so well-disposed towards me?”
No matter from which point it is observed, Prescribed Dream is inclined in his favor. Whether with any other woman he has been in charge of, he knows that an offense like the previous one would not be overlooked, one with which Coldness Divine would have made his life impossible.
‘Why is it different with this woman?’
“It gives me satisfaction to manipulate destinies, whether changing their bearer or influencing them by merely a few words. For you I mentioned those that would grant you the greatest gains, did you acquire them?”
Only in that instant, when their gazes meet, does Lawrence feel his heart beat with a threatening feeling. Whether due to his previous error, this time he is more aware of not revealing it. He hides this thought internally, avoiding any sign of it.
“Yes, thanks to you.”
“Hm.”
Her flirtatious look disappears and returns her moderate attitude, with which she nods with a pleased smile. After achieving his goal, Lawrence tries to be on the favorable side of Prescribed Dream, before leaving her residence without changing his cheerful expression for this auspicious meeting.
All this disappears as soon as no one is watching.
“That phoenix girl knows about my Dimensional Rift!”
The feeling of that moment was none other than hatred, disgust, Resentment!
“That bitch predicted I would try to make her mine!”
Blood oozes from his fists as he understands that, neither hate nor love, with this phoenix girl no emotion will be of any use. From the beginning, Prescribed Dream knew the reason for Lawrence's arrival. And it wasn't he who made the first move.
It was her.
“I can't approach her like the others. If obtaining her love is impossible, it will have to be her gratitude. She will owe me so much that in this life it will be impossible to repay the favor.”
Once he reached this conclusion with Serene Will, today he has no choice but to apply it to Prescribed Dream. The problem lies in how long this friendship will last.
Will he ever have to silence her?
