Their morning started like any other would- a hearty meal alongside their guild members, happily chatting as they took in plenty of nutrients for the day ahead of them, plenty of jokes and teasing were thrown around, though all in a light hearted manner. Better still was the fact that both Mika and Kate were opening up more and more, their excitement and nervousness about the coming outing clear as day to all present. None teased them for it though, not when everyone here knew just how great an effort and will had been needed to bounce this far back from the terrible things they had lived through.

  Of course, Jack being the man the kids had learned to appreciate and love, did as expected, pushing that extra bit of grandiose gesture and flair as he gifted the two girls their own, temporary equipment. As he had said it, due to the lack of proper information, he had chosen rather standard choices, making quite the nice looking pair of spears for them to use as their primary weapons for now, accompanied by a shield for each. "Similar reach, if a bit smaller, but with extra protection from the shield. A perfect choice for fresh adventurers in the making." He said as he proceeded to remind them that the only thing that truly mattered was for them to come back safe and sound. If they could find it in themselves to actually enjoy the process as well would be a pleasant bonus. He had not sugar coated it at all, warning them that adventuring, for all the supposed and rumoured fun that it entailed, was quite the bloody and brutal business. Still, once he was satisfied with the crash course he had delivered, he allowed them to depart, waving goodbye and once more reminding them to be careful over anything else.

  Almost as soon as the group left their mansion and entered the city, it became quite clear that Mika and Kate might never truly recover from their horrific experiences. As soon as they saw any other man besides the ones among their own 'guild', they became extremely tense and wary, their hands reaching for their shields and spears as if expecting any of the men to lunge at them and try to capture them to drag into some dark cave to resume what had been done with them. Kenji, being the lovable nerd with ever growing body of a proper tank, noticed immediately- thank whatever gods were out there for this sharp sense- and stood closer to them, as if using his own body to shield them from the possible attackers, earning quite the brownie points from the duo no doubt. A gesture Kaede was more than happy about. If there was one thing she loved about her man it was his protective nature over not only her but their entire group. By this point, Kaede was more than sure that the same sentiment was coursing through the veins of everyone in their party.

  Leaving the city was easier than ever before, even with quite a few of the guards still around- either for cleanup or because of the high alert state the town's leadership was still in, most of whom made a small nod as their group passed by. Apparently their efforts to hold back monsters as they blocked the exit from the tunnel already had circulated around, at the very least among the city guard. said suspicion was confirmed at the gate as well, as the last guard made a more distinctive nod and spoke, thanking them for the good job they did in reducing the casualties the town suffered. If not for their courage, the town would have lost more than just a dozen or so residents.

  And so, the party once again left the town, guided by Chiyo towards what could only be called the very beginning of a route they would likely take often. Chiyo had been marking her map every time they left the town, noting the places they encountered monster groups, calculating the habitats and likely places of nests for the monsters and beasts alike, as well as what could only be the optimized routes, both for maximum probability of encounters to the bare minimum one as well. The party was well on their wat to level twenty when they would, hopefully, be able to farm level 20 orcs with consistency, providing Jack with plenty of matter for him to make level appropriate gear so they could keep on pushing further and further.

  Sure, the experience required would only grow and grow, demanding more and more dangerous encounters and formidable prey, but thanks to the existence of Jack, the party was more than sure they could keep on pushing. And once strong enough, they could start making some changes, if not the world at large then at least to the region around them. And the first one to go would be slavery. That too was something their small group had agreed on. Jack did complain when their decision was brought before him, demanding exemption once they manage to bring their plan to fruition. As he had put it, once of his long term plans was to collect his personal animal girl maid corp for obvious reasons- something he could achieve if they did not make that exemption for him. Whether he was actually joking or not was not something the group could actually tell, thus the expressed question was shelved for the time being.

  Mika and Kate were half distracted as the group headed deeper and deeper in the forest, their gazes darting around in both wonder and anticipation. Their hands clutched their weapons as if they were too afraid, or excited, to be even a second late to respond to the monster arrival.

  "Ten goblins incoming from west." Came Chiyo's voice, slightly startling the two new girls. The party knew they had killed a few goblins each back in the tutorial, though they had been caught soon after and then abused, basically leveling any experience they had formed so far.

  "I'll taunt all but two! Lead them further izumi, Fumiko." Kenji spoke confidently, tapping his shield with his mace lightly and creating a small chiming sound of sorts as he stepped forward.

  "Roger/ O-key!" the two responded at the same time, taking flanks and watching for said two that would slip past Kenji's blockade. With so many beauties, it was guaranteed that those goblins that would be left to their own devices would unquestionably dart of said beaties, doing their very best to knock them out and drag away to their lair do do with as they pleased.

  Unfortunately, the goblins were a tad slow and dumb, and that was quite the understatement, as they were easily intercepted by either Kenji who used his taunt, or then led by the nose by either Izumi or Fumiko, leading the two chosen little green shits closer towards Kate and Mika.

  "Shields up girls." Kaede spoke confidently from right behind the duo, helping the two newbies to adapt and get used to the situation quickly, with Carla right next to them as well, preparing to cast some soothing spells, only to be surprised by the ease with which she could do that now.

  "Holy shit, what's with the speed of my casting now?" she could not help but cry out in surprise, the spell already all ready to go as a smile crept on her face.

  "That's what Jack's stuff will make you wonder. Don't worry, you will get used to it way too soon." Emi smiled as she calmly spoke from the side, surprising most around, since she seldom expressed herself, save for mealtime and whenever she was snacking on the goodies she held in her special snack bag.

  "As I said, shields up, but keep your eyes open and on the incoming enemy. Never close your eyes hoping for a miracle- we make them happen ourselves. Once the little green shits are in range, stab with your spear, aiming for their torso." Kaede continued the instruction, calling for the two little buggers to be brought over.

  "Izumi, Fumiko! Bring them over!"

  With practiced ease the two loose goblins were led closer, though their focus was still stuck on the two, just a bit too fast, yet unreasonably tantalizing targets. Anyone seeing the spectacle would not blame the green shits however, since both izumi and Fumiko were wearing only what looked like sports bras on their upper bodies, revealing plenty of skin for the goblins to become unable to look at anything but the beautiful funbags in front of them, their detestable nature overtaking what little thinking power they might otherwise put forth.

  A relatively low sound of two separate instances of a sharp metal object piercing flesh and the sharp pain assaulting the little monsters nervous systems did mercilessly smash them out of their lust clouded rampage, their heads now jerking towards the direction of said pain, only to notice a spear tip embedded in their flanks, each held by another beauty. Still, the adrenaline and now copious amounts of anger and fear that flooded their systems screamed at them to abandon the current task, urging them to run away only to stumble to the ground a second or two after said spear tips were removed from their sides.

  "Good first try, but they are not done yet!" Kaede commanded from behind Mika and Kate. "Finish them with another stab. Remember that any woman ever caught by their kind end up with fate worse than death." There was edge to Kaede's voice as she finished speaking, as if she had seen the result herself.

  Both Mika and Kate did not hesitate, stepping forward and stabbing the bodies once more, stopping only when the two green creatures stopped moving and breathing entirely. As they did so, both noticed the notification of experience gained and as if on agreement, both turned their heads towards the location Kenji was holding back the rest of the goblin pack with what looked like absolute ease.

  "Another two for us Kenji!" Kaede yelled out and moments later Kenji punted two unfortunate goblins their way.

  "Alright girls. These two we will let you try and handle on your own, one each. Just do your best and know that if anything, one of us will step in."

  "Um." Kate and Mika nodded, raising their shields in near unison and bracing for the coming battle that started moments later, when the two punted goblins regained their senses after the brutal kick and noticed the two girls, instantly scrambling to their feet and rushing at them both, each picking the closer one. There was something irresistible when it came to low leveled goblins and what they believed to be prime breeding stock free for the taking right before their eyes, resulting in almost always the same thing.

  Unlike the previous two goblins that Mika and Kate had plenty of time with as the green shits were led around by Izumi and Fumiko, these two were charging straight at the girls with decent speed. Still, both speed and path of the shits was quite obvious and easy to predict, allowing for quite the accurate, even if rather amateurish still, stabs to be delivered by both girls. And even with both goblins trying at the last moment to dodge the incoming spear tips, both were grazed well enough to cause them to stumble and fall, giving the two girls another opening, something they capitalized after yet another order from Kaede who noticed the slight hesitation in both. It seemed that they still lacked the killer instinct when it came to monsters and the like.

  "Take the opening!" Kaede yelled and with a flinch both Mika and Kate did as ordered, stabbing both and ending their lives.

  Their training was however interrupted by a rather loud scream of fear and panic some few hundred meters further in the forest.

  "Another party in trouble!" Chiyo called out, launching arrows at the goblins Kenji was not bashing heads in with finality at that precise moment, just as eager to rush over at the panicked scream they just heard, not a single glimpse of his previous playful mood in sight.

  "Move out! Double time!" Kaede yelled as she grabbed the hands of both Kate and Mika, trying their best to keep up with Izumi and Fumiko who were already darting forward, though still keeping just a bit behind Chiyo who was at the front, soon enough caught up by slightly glowing Kenji who seemed like some sort of a charging bull right that moment.

  In less than a minute and something the party had reached a small clearing within the forest the screams came from, hearing the same voice of desperation and pleading a few more times, clearly fighting for her life. Everyone but Mika and Kate could already guess what was about to happen, if not already in the process- the screams were that of a girls after all. The moment they had reached the clearing, Kenji all but disappeared from his location as he had activated a skill, only for the new members of their party to see the horrific sight that Kenji smashed into- a group of five or so goblins assaulting a still struggling girl, most of her clothes torn apart and her limbs scratched bloody.

  "PROTECTORS RAGE UNLEASHED!" Kenji roared as he stood atop the sobbing girl, his armoured body serving as a wall of unbreakable determination and promise of endless suffering for those that had dared to hurt what was under his protection. His mace swung with speed and power Kenji himself did not know he had, outright exploding the goblins he struck, leaving what looked like small explosion holes in the ground- the sheer force of his strikes surprising the entire party from the back.

  Something stirred within Mika and Kate at the sight before their eyes. both at the suffering of the girl and Kenji's righteous wrath. As though guided by pure instinct and a need to release their own pain, both charged in as well, their legs and spears moving with purpose and meaning, finding and impaling the nearest goblins they could. Unlike the last time however, they did not hesitate to tear their spears out of the flesh they had just stabbed to drive them in once more, quickly ending the lives of the goblins and immediately seeking for the next green little shits to kill.

  Unfortunately, the rest of the party was already upon them, ending all the monster lives in their vicinity with speeds that left Mika and Kate flabbergasted. Only as their minds settled from the momentary outrage did they realised just how large a gap was between them and the main assault group. The same thought did pass through their minds at the same time 'I will reach that stage soon enough. I too am part of the family.'

  Kaede was already next to the girl, hugging and healing the girl while Carla was soothing her mind. In no more than another minute the girl was somewhat calm and coherent, though still shaken. She did manage to stutter out a short "The rest of the pack!" as she pointed towards a certain direction, to immediately be understood and followed by Kenji taking point and heading forward with great speed, with the rest of the group following close by, with Kaede and Carla sticking by Fumiko who was now carrying the girl.

  "Slight trauma, though we arrived just before the worst happened." Carla quickly diagnosed the now fainted girl, sighing with the smallest of reliefs. It could have been much, much worse were any of the goblins to finish their act.

  Unfortunately, a few more minutes later, the group found what was the remains of the girls party, being torn apart and devoured by a large group of goblins and even three dozens of hobs, no other women in sight.

  "Carla, any other girls in her group?" Kaede asked with cold voice, no doubt already calculating their next steps, even as Kenji was once again charging, not teleporting this time though since there was nothing he had to protect within the monster pack.

  "No, she was the only one." came a quick reply, Carla had already read the surface memory of the last few hours.

  "Good." Kaede visibly exhaled as she yelled out "Cleanup only Kenji! Go wild!" then turning to the party she added "Make it hurt." as Fumiko and Izumi also dashed forward with great speed, while Chiyo was already speed shooting arrows from her bow.

  Kenji seemed like wrath incarnate, his strikes carrying power far above his ussual strength, splattering even the hobs his mace connected with, while Izumi and Fumiko looked like some sort of blood demons, their blades slicing the green monsters in halves as they dashed forward.

  Emi's curses blanketed the monster pack, allowing her side to more easily deal with the despicable creatures and even Mika and Kate were already upon some of the goblins and stabbing out with their spears, taking lives with anger. What hesitation they had held before about ending the lives of the little green and somewhat hideous creatures had been doused, replaced with sheer and endless disgust and hatred towards them as well as a strengthened trust in not only the girls but especially Kenji. His uncontrolled and undisguised anger at the sight had done a lot.

  With the party going all out, even the sizable pack of monsters did not last long, as mere few minute later only the piles of corpses and blood creating small pools was all that's left of the monsters.

  "Quick clean up of the place and we are going back." Izumi called out as Kaede was already walking around and dematerializing monster corpses, not forgetting about one of the main tasks they had to fulfill during their expeditions.

  "How the hell was such a large group of goblins so close to town?" Fumiko asked as she frowned, only to be answered a moment later by Chiyo who was supper alert still. "Because of the monster tide, obviously. Jack did say the boss monster ran away for some reason, so it should be expected that larger and more powerful monster groups could still linger around. The soldiers and the special scouting groups must still be busy with something else."

  "You okay girls? This was not quite what we expected your first expedition to turn into, especially such a short one as well."

  "We reached level five." both said at the same time, an odd determination and happiness in their eyes.

  "Oh? What classes did you pick?" Kenji asked from the side, still vigilant and ready to save anyone should the need arise and covering the backs of the girls cleaning the battlefield. "Sorry." he quickly added, backing away a bit as he remembered that Kate and Mika were still timid around guys who were not Jack.

  Unexpectedly though, they smiled at him, as Mika spoke. "You are a nice person, but we are not telling now." she playfully stuck out her tongue. "Back at home, when we are all together." Kate added, erasing the awkwardness Kenji had felt just moments ago. He nodded and returned his full attention to overwatch.
