Chapter 9 : SHIROKUYOMI

Akube: Man, last night was a blast! I don’t care about the first part, but that festival… it was glorious for me.

Dranexx: Still boringly normal to me… I want to change my clothes, get a new outfit. We’ve been in school uniforms ever since we were summoned to this world. I don’t like it one bit.

Akube: Alright, chill out, no need to yell. I got you.

As they passed by a shop that specialized in self-crafted weapons, Dranexx heard a voice:

  Unknown Voice: Over here.

Dranexx (thoughts): The same voice again… “Over here, by your right?” By my right…? Who are you?

  Dranexx: If I may ask…

  Unknown Voice: Please… come closer.

  Dranexx: Wait… a sword?!

Unknown Voice: Yes. Got a problem with swords?

Dranexx (thoughts): Is she being rude to me? I thought she was the one calling… so why be rude?

Unknown Voice: You’re being mean now, aren’t you? So rude.

Dranexx (thoughts): Me rude? What’s going on here?

Unknown Voice: Why are you being mean? sniffle

Dranexx (thoughts): I’m lost here… Hey, look, I’m sorry, okay? Should we talk somewhere? I presume you want me to purchase you from this shop?

  Unknown Voice: Yes, please.

  Dranexx (thoughts): Oh… okay.

Dranexx: I would like to buy this sword, sir. How much is it?

Businessman: Wait… this ugly sword? It’s banged up… what for?

Unknown Voice: See why this man deserves a painful torture?

  Dranexx (thoughts): Be quiet…

Akube: You want to purchase that sword?

Dranexx: Yes, and I have my reasons.

Akube: No problem. I was going to tell you to buy it anyway, no matter the cost.

  Dranexx: For real?!

  Akube: Yes, really.

Dranexx: Ah… never mind. I’ll take it. That’s final.

Businessman: Sure… take it for 2 gold coins.

  Dranexx: Here’s 3.

  Businessman: Really? Y-yeah… keep it.

  They left the shop.

Akube: So this sword is special, isn’t it? I can feel the high amount of energy it contains.

Dranexx: Yeah… and it talks too.

Akube: Hahaha! Are you mad? A talking sword?

Dranexx: Have I lied to you before?

  Akube: Not really…

Dranexx: So believe me when I tell you it’s real. I can really talk to the sword.

Unauthorized content usage: if you discover this narrative on Amazon, report the violation.

Akube: Oh… okay. So, what does it say? Or what does it do?

The sword’s appearance changed it shone bright gold, and hidden potential revealed itself to Dranexx.

  Dranexx: Shirokuyomi.

  Akube: Huh?

Dranexx: Shirokuyomi. That’s your name now.

Akube: Hahaha! What kind of ridiculous name is that? Hahaha!

Unknown Voice: What name is that?!

Dranexx: Don’t question me. That’s your new name.

Unknown Voice: Wait… how did we… sign a contract just now? Was this your doing?

Dranexx: No, I just gave you a name… and voilĂ ! Contract signed. Now we’re bound together. You will grant my every wish.

  Akube: Really?

Dranexx: Yes. This sword isn’t ordinary it’s dangerous.

Dranexx was right. The sword had been forged by the Grandmaster of Divinity long ago, with 50% of her power. It was gifted to a hero who died in battle, losing the sword. Now, it had found a new master. Its purpose: define logic, override plot, nullify and cut through any conceptual defenses to kill its target. It ignored laws of time and space one slash could rewrite reality itself.

Dranexx: What’s “plot override”? You can do that, right?

Shirokuyomi: I live when wielded by a powerful master. My full potential unlocks the moment we contract. The past hero, fifty years ago, was too weak he died in battle because he couldn’t awaken me fully.

Dranexx: So… I’ve awakened most of your potential?

Shirokuyomi: Yes. I gained plot override the moment we contracted. And worse… if you use me in battle, your victory is guaranteed.

Dranexx: Quick question… combined with your power and mine… could I beat the Grandmaster of Celestial?

Shirokuyomi: Not really. You’d likely draw. But with your skills combined with mine, victory is certain.

Dranexx: You’re weird… Wait, let me guess you were created by a Grandmaster, right?

  Shirokuyomi: How do you mean?

Dranexx: Don’t play dumb. A floating, talking sword isn’t normal. I know this world is full of fantasy, but you… you’re different. I’m 100% sure I’m talking to a Grandmaster indirectly! Hahaha!

Indeed, Dranexx was right. The sword was connected to the Grandmaster of Divinity, who had been watching him since he was summoned. Dranexx now had blessings from three Grandmasters: the Grandmaster of Void, the Grandmaster of Pure Magic, and the Grandmaster of Divinity.

Shirokuyomi: Have you checked the library? There’s an ancient book of the species of this world.

  Dranexx: There is?

Shirokuyomi: Yes, but it’s in the king’s palace.

  Dranexx: Can’t I just… teleport there?

  Shirokuyomi: Yes.

  Akube: Instant teleportation?

Dranexx: Yep. Shall I go now?

Shirokuyomi: Invading the king’s library… bold, mi lord.

Dranexx: Mi lord? Since when…? Never mind. Let’s move; we’ll handle that later.

Akube: Man, I wish someone called me that too.

Dranexx: Weird. It’s a sword. Literally talks. Nothing special.

  Akube: Yeah… but come on.

  Dranexx: You’re weird, I swear.

  Shirokuyomi: Let’s move, mi lord.

  Dranexx: Stop that. It’s creepy.

With that, they vanished via instant teleportation.

The library was massive, filled with ancient texts.

Dranexx: “Surface Duelers”… what’s that book?

Shirokuyomi: That details species that duel on the surface. For example, the Underworld an ancient book on demons from a completely separate world called the Demon Realm.

  Dranexx: You’re knowledgeable… I didn’t expect that from a Grandmaster.

Shirokuyomi: I am not a Grandmaster.

Dranexx: You’re deceiving yourself, not me. Now let me read.

Akube: Strange… it contains every known magical spell. Some require more than twenty mages to cast but lucky for me, I can do it alone. Time to read and learn.

The library was quiet as they read.

  Dranexx: “Demon Lord Hub”? Interesting.

Shirokuyomi: That’s Demon Lord Raiga. He conquered the surface for centuries around 2000 years until defeated by a hero named Shieyen. Shieyen was blessed by the Grandmaster of Judgment, with the ultimate ability: Salvation. It allowed him to override divine judgment, restore everything, dominate minds, and purify curses. His skill World Salvation could rewrite corrupted worlds, sealing demons and chaos, returning them to holy order.

Dranexx: Damn… that’s powerful. Lucky for the hero. He’s probably dead by now, right?

Shirokuyomi: Yes. He was human… he could’ve lasted longer if he accepted Grand Evolution.

Dranexx: Grand Evolution? Some kind of advanced form to gain permanent lifespan?

Shirokuyomi: Exactly. You are deemed worthy by the system.

Dranexx: Screw the system I override it. I can force that evolution anytime I want.

Shirokuyomi: Terrifying… not even the Grandmasters have transcended the system.

Dranexx: Wrong. Seven have… but they’re still bound by cosmic law. Transcending the system only removes artificial limitations, not cosmic ones.

Shirokuyomi: Correct. Only the four Omni Kings surpass all Grandmasters.

Dranexx: Four Omni Kings… so this Zeikuverse isn’t small at all.

Shirokuyomi: Thousands of multiverses exist in Zeikuverse. Different systems, all tied to Zeikuverse law.

  Dranexx: How many?

  Shirokuyomi: Enough… continue reading.

Dranexx: Hahaha! Now I get it. Nineteen Grandmasters, different multiverses, different systems… the Heavenly Paladin is the brightest realm, and each verse has its Tree.

Dranexx: Hey, reveal yourself! I want to speak to the Grandmaster of Divinity she knows a lot, probably closest to the creator.

  Shirokuyomi: No.

  Dranexx: I knew it… it’s you.

Shirokuyomi: True. If I came in person, chaos would erupt.

  Dranexx: Chaos, by…?!

Shirokuyomi: My true body is too strong for that world… unless you come to my realm.

Dranexx: Sweet! You have your own domain?

  Shirokuyomi: Yes, mi lord.

  Akube: Huh… good theory.

Shirokuyomi: Do you wish to see my true form?

  Dranexx: Yes.

Shirokuyomi: If you’re strong as you claim… find me if you can, almighty Dranexx! Hahaha.

Dranexx: Oh… is that a challenge?!

Shirokuyomi: All Grandmasters have monarchs serving them. Good luck passing mine.

  Dranexx: Alright, I’ll find you.

Akube: On a quest, huh? Looks fun.

Shirokuyomi: Don’t bring your friend… I don’t get along with the Grandmaster of CelestiaAkube:Seriously… buzzkill.

Dranexx: Fine, you’ve got a deal. Let me finish here… then I’ll hunt you down.

Hahahahaha! Dranexx smiled, excitement blazing in his eyes.
