Desolation was everywhere. In a deep ravine surrounded by black ground and dark mist, Yu Sui sat in a stony room.
This hellish place was now his everything his home, his world. He lived here with his puppets, who walked around like living corpses. Because Yu Sui was no longer an ordinary cultivator; he had become the Black Heaven King. Due to this power, all the deceased followed his commands. His followers, or puppets, were stationed in black robes at every corner, on every inch of the entire ravine.
But this time, he was not alone in his terrifying chamber. Next to the stone where he sat eating an apple, a man lay on the floor. His mouth was sealed with a mantra, rendering him unable to speak. But his terrified eyes continuously watched Yu Sui. The man was horribly scared.
And this man was none other than Wey Fang, Lin Chaoyuan's most trusted advisor. Yu Sui had found out that Wey Fang was the very man, the advisor, who had switched the mantras during the ritual that day.
Eating the apple, Yu Sui looked down at him. Seeing Yu Sui's demonic red eyes, Wey Fang's throat dried up in terror. Yu Sui then extended his hand towards Wey Fang's chest. As his hand reached out, a black aura began to emanate from it, and slowly, that black aura entered Wey Fang's body, extinguishing his soul forever.
Wey Fang lay there with his white, lifeless eyes and pale body. Some of his followers came and took his corpse away.
Yu Sui also slowly walked outside. His eyes were still filled with tears. He whispered softly to himself:
"Mo Yan... I hope we meet."
The Rescue and The Warning
Meanwhile...
Mo Yan entered the scattered and desolate Liuguang Sect; his presence was calm yet impactful. His disciples, at his slightest gesture, spread out across the entire Liuguang Sect. Everywhere, there were fast rustling winds and dense black fog. Houses had turned into ruins. Everything was scattered and broken, as if an earthquake had struck.
Mo Yan also began his inspection. He opened the door of every house and searched, but the homes were empty and deserted. The disciples were also checking every house and street. There was nothing.
Suddenly, when Mo Yan opened the door of one relatively intact house, he was stunned by what he saw. There were dozens of people inside, terrified. Some were injured and sick some children and some women. When the door suddenly opened, the people were startled; the women began to scream and cry out of fear.

But when Mo Yan reassured them and approached them, they were convinced that someone had come to save them. He spoke in a soft, trusting tone so that the people would not be afraid of him:
"None of you should be scared. We have come to rescue you."
Saying this, Mo Yan cast a spell Seal which broke into many small white spheres and sped towards the disciples. When the disciples saw the spell seal, they instantly understood that their Master was calling them. Su Nian led the remaining disciples forward. It didn't take him long to reach Mo Yan.
A little later... Mo Yan sealed the entire house with his protective barrier, which somewhat calmed the people. Then Mo Yan asked:
"What happened here? How did the Liuguang Sect suddenly reach this state?"
One man replied fearfully:
"Master. We were doing our daily work. But then, Minister Wey Fang arrived here running. He was very scared and kept saying that the Devil wanted to kill him. Then we saw the successors of the Black Heaven following him. And everything was destroyed wherever he passed. People ran to save their lives; we also ran and hid in this place. But whoever he was... he took Minister Wey Fang away. Master, please save us. He is very dangerous."
Su Nian, who was listening intently to everything, then asked:
"But how did you know he was the Black Heaven King?"
Mo Yan also focused on this point and looked towards the man for an answer. The man said:
"We know. Because some people in our Liuguang Sect came here from Hei Lin San, the sect of black mantras and powers. They were the ones who identified that the crown in that Devil's hair could only be given by the Black Heaven. And those who told us... were killed."
Mo Yan was growing increasingly angry that the man was repeatedly referring to Yu Sui as a "Devil." But he tried his best to keep himself calm.
Mo Yan stood up and said to Su Nian:
"We must take them safely to the Ming Jing Men Sect. Let 10 disciples leave with them right now."
Bao Fang stepped forward, and 10 disciples followed him. Without any delay, they began to take the people away, led by Bao Fang. Mo Yan spoke to all the people before they left:
"My disciples will protect all of you. They will take you safely to the Ming Jing Men Sect. I promise, as long as my disciples are with you, no harm will come to you."
Hearing this, all the disciples felt immense pride that their Master trusted them so much. Bao Fang bowed with great pride, and the other disciples followed suit, saying:
"Master, grant us permission to leave. We will not disappoint you, Master."
Saying this, they left with the people. A short while after they left, Mo Yan instructed the remaining disciples and Su Nian to survey the entire area. And upon receiving Mo Yan's signal, Su Nian and the remaining disciples began their reconnaissance.
But suddenly, a strange noise echoed in the forest. Sometimes from the treetops, sometimes from right behind the houses. Sometimes so close that it felt as if it was right behind them. There was movement everywhere. Everyone gathered in one place. Not out of fear, but to confront the impending danger.
Mo Yan and everyone else then drew their swords. The sound of swords leaving their scabbards echoed so loudly that it felt like an electric charge spread through the entire area.
Then another sound, soft but terrifying, came from everywhere simultaneously. All the disciples became alert. Mo Yan was also fully vigilant. His sword was ready to face any threat.
Then, without wasting a single moment, he swiftly swung his sword into the air, and receiving this signal, his remaining twenty disciples spread out across the entire sect like shadows, taking their positions, standing on high alert.
