Chapter 10

They finally left". Drake complained. " They were here forever."

"Well," Ceselee said." I believe it's because you had to put a door to the secret room in several rooms. They searched each one just to see where it came out. We almost killed someone with the trap in the boss room. Guess it's good they caught it before it happened. "

"They were in the boss room, they should know to expect the unexpected. Plus it went to a treasure room that connects to a special place inside our forest room. It's a beautiful room full of ferns, flowers, trees, moss covered rocks, a waterfall with a pool diverting to a creek. It's a spectacle to behold. We don't just want adventurers, we want tourists and residents. Plus aren't we going to put two staircases one that goes to the next level from the boss room and a central one for a continuation of our garden city this will also make it easier on adventurers to bypass the easier levels they'll be able to enter and exit from each level that's your biggest achievement so far the more living things in our dungeon the more mana and levels we can generate."

Sighing" True, true. Hope they give us a good rating."

The group walked into the adventurers guilds new building. It logistically was a marvel of wonder for its time. Multiple levels with offices on the upper floor, a disassembly department for creatures brought back, a shop to sell supplies, several training areas, a reception to help with adventurers with various needs, private meeting rooms off to the side, and a tavern, with notice and job boards.

"We are here to report our findings." Salena said to the secretary of the guild.

"Debriefing in the meeting room #2 over there." The secretary pointed to the right. " Please wait a moment while I get the guild leader."

They made their way to a meeting room. It held round intricately carved heavy wooden tables with several comfortable puffy looking chairs. In the middle of the table was a tray with glasses and a sweat covered pitcher of a dark liquid looking like a sweet berry lemonade tea.

" Ah, nice they have their signature tea out." Ethan smiled in delight." Does anyone else want one?"

The whole group gave affirmation. The tea was passed around while everyone found a seat. Ten minutes later a burly broad shoulder man of considerable height bent over to walk through the threshold the builders had not taken this man into consideration when they built this building as if he was an afterthought.

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

"Hello, my name is guild master Roan. I hear you have a report to make." Roan said as he took a seat and also poured himself a drink.

Salena answered," Yes sir, we took a look into the dungeon. First, we could not locate the core. We think it is either on the next level or it has a very good hiding spot. Second, this dungeon has created a living space for people to live in and it has a bunch of marvels that we will need scouts to map it, scholars to interpret how to use it, herbalists, farmers, ranchers, timber jacks, and various other workers to collect the bounty within we won't have to import food whether it be meat such as chickens, rabbits, or pigs and I think we will be able to raise other domesticated animals within, various herbs including but not limited to healing, spices, magical, and poisons we could also add more since it looks likes this dungeon loves plants, and timber. Third, the 1st level of the dungeon is progressive, not aggressive, and actively tries to teach skills, such as trap and room detection, hunting, and how to coordinate a group in various terrains. We rate this a training dungeon to begin with. So far it only has the first floor with 13 rooms one being the hidden city world, a treasure room, a boss room, a puzzle room with multiple dangerous exits and the right answer being a nondangerous exit with a treasure box, Several garden monster rooms. Everyone places samples of each room's bounty."

Suddenly, the table was filled with herbs, foods, animals, copper, iron ingots, copper, silver and gold coins with various pictures of plants, samples of tree limbs and leaves.

"There is also the matter of the various new tools we gained. I accidentally dropped my mithril wand the dungeon took it because I had moved away from it. Then I noticed it was gone. I turned around thinking I had found it just outside my Aura. When I picked it up it was better than before. All the impurities were removed, the glyph structure was perfect and it worked 40x better than when I first got it. The dungeon was stealthy when it took it and when it returned it better if it had just copied it I would have never known but it improved upon it making this dungeon not only smart, but cunning, I believe it is also experimenting, also compassionate because most of the traps had a tell it doesn't want to kill it would rather allow us to live a make it's magic for it." Ian explained. " We also experimented with swords, bags filled with various things, axes, bows, blankets, armor, rations;each time the tool, or food, was taken it was returned a minute or two later and better like it was studying each item. A few times it added things to give us one more mana or healing potion, changed the color of a blanket to a more beautiful vivid purple, or gave us coins for our troubles." Ian said as if all forgone conclusions.

" I was making observations. I believe if we put rare animals, or hard to find plant species, this dungeon will copy them and make more of them in the garden world room. The reason I believe this is because it had a whole eco system inside from big animals such as wolves, bears, and panthers, to the smallest insects that birds could eat, not to mention the common rabbits, mountain goats, deer, wild pigs, I think there are some more obscured rarer species that may have fallen into the beginning pit trap that I didn't see. So far though I don't think this dungeon has come into contact with mana beasts because it's so calm, collected, and naive. We need to protect the entrance from such beasts.”
