A Very Tired Wizard

Finally, after so much time and focus Delvorn was done with his thesis. It was laid out before him in shades of blue and black. Finally, after having the spell to keep him functioning and awake for thirty days straight, he could take a moment. Take a moment to rest.

Not thirty minutes into his sleep Delvorn was shot awake by a crash. He looked out and to his horror a quart of his tower was just gone. He looked down at his research and half of it was blowing away into the rainy wind.

The clear cause was a man standing covered in blood a sword in hand. His hair was stark black against the grey dread of weather behind him. He looked at him with eyes that shown bright like the lightening that crashed in the background.

Even a recluse student like him knew these features. This was the demon king. Someone too large and powerful to take his rage out on.

Tears of frustration pushed at his eyes as he summoned all the magic he could to turn back the time state of his tower thirty minutes so he could at least save his work.

  He casted the spell.

  But this wizard was exhausted.

This wizard hadn’t maintained his magic as much as he should have. So his magic lost control much like the storm and instead of turning the tower back a half an hour. He watched the demon king gasp and shrink until he was a tiny bundle of a baby about a half a year old.

Delvorn sucked in a breath ran forward scooping up the demon King who looked at him and burbled. He quickly tried to reverse it but he’d used all his energy to cast it. The baby grabbed his hand and put it in his mouth gumming it like an actual baby.

So what was a wizard supposed to do when they turned the in famous demon King into a six month old baby?

He skidded down his winding stairs out into the storm. Flinching at the battle raging.

“Sir.” A man wearing a royal emblem called and the wizard shoved the baby into the man’s arms and ran off.

The wizard assumed that the royal demon emblem was of the Demon Kings house hold.

  The wizard was wrong.
