Part 6 Part B
Continued from Part A
When I woke up there's another woman standing over me, wearing the same gear and equipment as Lucy. But its not Lucy. Wow she's pretty. But not asshole pretty like Lucy was.
Lucy the bitch...
F--k Lucy. I'm glad its not her.
"Hey...are you OK?" she asked. She kicked me lightly in the side but not hard. It was almost playful. And it was also nice and sweet also, which thoroughly shocked me. I didn't answer her right away because of it.
"Who are you?" I asked sitting up.
"I've been sent to replace Lucy. Apparently she wasn't doing her job. And was screwing up also. She isn't supposed to be trying to get you hurt or killed or avoid giving you correct advise also," she said.
"Your assessment of Lucy the bi--h is spot on. I thought it was odd about her attitude being so obvious in dislike," I said.
"That's not nice of you to say about her," she frowned.
"You know she somehow froze my skill bar and tried to prevent me getting skills? She almost got me killed. She was not nice," I told her.
She paled.
"I'm so sorry. That wasn't supposed to happen. Truly, I regret that I wasn't here earlier. Please try to survive! And we're with you now in spirit even if not here physically! Please believe in yourself and that you can get past this, Javen! Also, I want you to succeed! Let's do this!" she sounded motherly.
Wow. She's actually nice? Things would have been way different if she'd been here earlier. She's like the opposite of Lucy!
"What's your name?" I asked.
"You can call me Alice. A pleasure," she said.
But my hand passed through hers when we both forgot that we couldn't shake hands.
She's very nice and pleasant. Its amazing.
"Oh. I forgot about that. Sorry," she laughed.
"Me too."
Wow.
She's hot. She's good looking like Lucy, and even has a similar build. But her innocence and young mother like qualities are so wonderful that coupled with her appearance its like an angel has landed! She'd even look the part if she had white wings to complement that blue eyed blonde look.
The motherly part of her personality is... it almost gives her much more appeal to her from my perspective than her actually raw appeal alone.
She also has on a sort of odd looking travel skirt, and a white blouse with dark leather pointed boots and a belt satchel kit around her waist, not to mention a small mini-backpack hanging from her back. She looks almost like she'd fit with living in this place; like a traveling adventurer's clothes kit. Her thighs are exposed to tempt me with, showing skin between the knee boots where the knee cap comes out to meet the top of her thighs where the fancy travelers skirt ends. (If she bends over that outfit would be risky. But it doesn't really show cleavage much.)
"So your health doesn't look good. What's your status?" she asked.
I explained the situation, describing it as desperate.
A few minutes passed.
"I see then. OK, have you checked your new magitek job kit?" she asked.
"I was about too. But I need real advise please. Lucy didn't tell me anything," I said.
"OK. Let's do this. Please look at it now. I'll try to help but...actually I'm brand new at this and know about as much as you did. They put me in as a newbie. I really hope to help you survive and thrive though. Please believe in yourself! Sorry," she apologized.
But she did mention something about the fact that the previous Lucy should have told me about the newbie health potion, and she's upset that she didn't.
I pulled up my new status screen window.

Ah, there's a level bar huh? And it seems I'd killed enough giant wasps to get to level 3. I'm excited to try out these skills too!
But it will take me some time to figure it out. I have to understand how it works.
It seems that I had a lot of unapplied XP already, beyond the limit needed for the Overdrive XP. And this is why my level has jumped to 3 right away. I have no idea why it gave me so many cool skills right up front though. But some of that might be from me doing the XP overdrive thingy that happened with Luch the B---h earlier. And it being an elite wizard class.
"Huh? What in the world is going on with this build? Something isn't right here," Alice stated.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"It shouldn't give you advanced element affinities right from the start. You are supposed to have to work at it for awhile and then open that up later. It should have probably not give you the intermediate versions also. But I'm not sure on that. I might have to ask my boss later," she said confused.
"What does it mean?" I asked.
"Just who are you exactly? Where did you come from before now?" she frowned at me with her hands on her hips. She's now giving me a suspicious look.
"I don't know. My memories were sealed up it said," I said.
"Do you remember who your parents are? Anything?" she asked.
I shook my head. "I was hoping you could help me figure that out. I only know my name. But no memories," I answered back.
"I'll be demoted if you die the first week with me. I wish you had your memories. That would help a lot," she frowned.
This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.
"So you'll be with me long term then? Maybe more than a week?" I asked.
She shook her head also on that which bothered me. I'd hoped to not be alone. "I'm going to be with you per the system contract for only 2 more days. I'm sorry I can't be here longer. If only Lucy hadn't wasted so much time."
"What?! But there's no towns here?! What am I supposed to do?! This place is crazy hard to be in. And I'm surrounded by shit that wants to kill me. I can't even leave this area," I cried.
"That is a predicament. But you were only supposed to get the system help for 7 days beyond a certain point when you were working up magic. They let you have a few extra days for some unknown reason, probably the blessing of heaven trait. That's a very special skill by the way. Who knows why really. But either way its not up to me. I have a boss that's giving me orders. And I already have a file for another guy to help right after you that I'm trying to get ready for also, on another world," she shrugged.
Sounds like she knows what the Blessing of Heaven trait is. If I can trick her into slipping up about a clue about it that'd be nice.
"I'm so sorry Javen. You seem like such a nice person. I really hope you make it," Alice sounded emotionally upset too while trying to comfort me.
Damn.
"And when that happens...what will happen to that danger sense turret skill?" I asked.
"It will be gone. You'll have to take care of business yourself then. It shouldn't have even let you change that skill even. I'm sorry," she frowned.
"Oh jeez," I said.
"Yeah, so you better work hard to level up fast. But that will be hard with your health bar like that huh?" she sighed. "I hope you don't die. But you have all the cards stacked against you right now."
"Why didn't they start me in the closest town?" I asked.
She shrugged. "I don't know. That's weird too. They should have done that."
"You better hurry and try to figure out your skills. We never know when another giant hornet patrol or something else will occur," she added.
"OK, so how do I...?" I asked and stopped feeling overwhelmed.
"Try that new skill there, create item. That's a hint I can give you. And you can use that more than once for things that you need. Hint, hint," she said. Then she did some exaggerated winking.
"How do I do that?"
"Go to the skills tab and click on the skill. Do that and then just go through it. It will use mana as the cost to make whatever you make with it. So use it well to make whatever you need and position yourself into survival," she said.
"It doesn't make me do a spell formula or something like an incantation?" I asked.
"In the old days it did. But when magic became magitek a lot changed. There were so many upgrades that eventually some cultures didn't need incantations anymore. Now you don't need to do formulas, but you still need to understand them and how they work. You can also create spell formulas which become custom skills. So I reccomend you learn how to do them and to study them. But...you might need a mentor and a town for that," she said.
"I see...so if only there were a town nearby," I sighed.
"There isn't a town nearby. But you can still do this. You need to be careful and have a strategy to compensate," she said.
"OK. I'll give it my best shot.
She emphathetic. "You look overwhelmed."
"I feel that way. If you had told this on my first day, things would be completely different now. I'd be doing much better instead of going down the tube, when you found me," I admitted.
"Just try to work with your skills. If it helps you any, your starter kit is truly amazing if you can get past this hump. You have many advanced traits or skills that some would kill for. But honestly your build type isn't a traditional mage. You aren't like a fire ball blaster or nuke mage. It seems you'll have to be really careful and find a way to exploit. You need to build up some kind of defendible position also to compensate for lack of offensive build skills," she warned.
"OK..."
"Try using the skill," she coached.
So I opened up the skill tab.
There the skill [Create Item] is there.
"Shouldn't it show me a mana cost?" I asked when studying it over.
"That I'm not sure of. I'm new to this job also. Try things out and see what it does. But don't waste your resources on something that won't help you either. But as you discover recipes and things to make, I think it will at the minimum show their cost after you make something once. But be careful, going to negative mana is VERY bad for you," she warned.
There in the skill box there's no mana cost written. And there's not one written in the description area also. The description says [Using the power of life and creation, you can cast formulas to 'build'.]
"That's weird," she said.
"Is it?"
"Well I'm speaking figuratively. I'm still pretty new at this. But I've not seen any other 'students' with skills like that. I'm not sure what it means. Its definitely different," she said evasively.
'Is she lying to me?' I wondered.
She said she was new at this but she acts a bit confident. Plus, she has another guy to mentor in another area right after me; she had accidentally slipped up at one point that there's another guy she's mentoring at the same time in some other area (but that might not even be in the same world I'm in if I'm reading this right). And if she were new wouldn't someone have to check on her first?
"Well go ahead and give it a try," she said.
"All right."
I clicked on the skill.
Another sub menu pops up.
[What would you like to create?] pops up in the window.
Then there's a drop down menu.
[Life, Weapon, Armor, Tool, Resource, Material,]
Eh? It can make those things with that?! WOW!
"What the hell...?!" I mumbled.
"That's got to be a glitch. Create life?! You...can't do that as a normal human," she said disturbed with wide eyes and in complete shock. She'd also backed up a step from almost stumbling also.
I nodded.
"Well it is what it is. You said so yourself that I don't have an offensive build. So like hell am I passing up my only saving grace and chance to live," I said.
"Um, try something simple first. You don't want to overexert yourself on the first try when you don't know what your limits are," she coached.
"Something simple. Try creating something you know about and have seen before. Remember the first time you use a skill it could fail easily. And the more you use the skill the more the success chance is for other things after you figure it out. You want to have a success quickly to work this out. Plus, when you do create something don't be discouraged if it has a summon timer of only a few hours," she said.
"So I'm not actually creating, I'm renting?" I asked.
She shrugged. "Most spells work on a timer. It would be problematic if a fire wizard summons fire and it won't stop even after the town is destroyed, or remains there until the end of time. That's how its supposed to work, but your build is weird. So I'm not entirely sure," she adds.
"That's true huh..."
"You could also picture something you use everyday," she added.
I pictured an axe. One of those big black factory made bad ass cool looking ones like in...huh, was I remembering something? OK. An axe would be very useful, for both building and for kicking ass on those giant bugs!
I liked axes. Who doesn't? They are more practical than something like a sword also.
An image of what I was picturing in my mind startled me as it appeared in the box.
"Wow," she said.
"That's good right?" I asked.
"Well its not done yet. You need to complete it. But in theory the more complex the item is the more mana it will cost you. At level 3, I doubt it will actually let you create an axe. More likely it will make you pick something else like a dagger," she adds.
"But its strange that you have access to that particular design, which is definitely not from this world," she muttered mostly to herself.
But to our shock it didn't make me pick something else.
The woodcutter axe is long and has a big handle with a very sharp blade. Its the factory black steel bad ass version from whatever that other world was... It looks like a very good quality piece. Shiny, cool, sleek design.
This thing looks very awesome. And the blade is so sharp...
If I was a goblin and wanted to die, I could die in honor on a bad ass axe like this fucker is...yeah!
And the box window in the create item window says it will cost 200 mana to summon.
"What...wow, it might let you make that. I'm very surprised that it didn't make you start with daggers or something simpler," she said in awe.
[You have picked a woodcutter's axe to create using the create item skill. Click [Yes] or [No] to proceed.]
"So I just click on yes?" I asked.
"What in the world...its letting you do this?! And I don't see a timer window or anything in the box or the formula area. It should say how many hours it will last for," she said.
I clicked OK.
There's a whoosh of energy and power...
I was even a bit frightened and worried that it would be noticed by other things nearby. In fact it scared the crap out of me.
And as the energy is settling there's a brand new super sharp steel manufactured cool looking black bad ass version factory made woodcutting axe on the ground in front of me. The axe handle is almost three feet long, and it looks like something that's come out of a manufacturing plant, and not something medieval at all. The blade is large and wide but very sharp, though not too wide. All of it has an interesting black color on both the blade and handle also. It almost looks sci-fi-ish though it isn't.
Wow.
"What in the world are you? A complex quality axe like that should take years to know how to summon or create. And you did it on the first try? Plus, why is it your axe doesn't look like a blacksmith did it, and instead looks too perfect? This looks very refined, almost like it was done with a [censored]...," she asked giving me odd looks.
Ah, what was that she was going to say...?
I'm curious but can't find the answer to what was censored. Plus, if I pay too close attention she'll get more guarded.
I pulled up the woodcutters axe.
This is a game changer. With this I could actually cut wood instead of only forage dead wood. Pretty sure I can cut those fucking trash giant hornet bastards too! And its a significant defense upgrade!
"Wow. You are pretty amazing," she said clapping and smiling.
I'm not sure what's going on...
But I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to have godlike power like this. Something about my wizard kit is broken and overpowered even if I don't have the full on offense element power that other mages and wizards have.
I need to figure out where I came from and why I'm really here.
And why does my age stat say 'NA' as in 'not applicable'?
