Entry #23

  Date: April 24th, 2132

  Day 141 - Third Rotation

Meeting this morning with Dr. Rellana and Gisandi Tuah, station linguist (G-0053). Medical Bay conference room, 0800 hours. Discussed patient G-0217 and next steps.

Dr. Rellana presented the medical update. Patient remains stable but non-communicative during waking hours. Arm regeneration progressing on schedule. No signs of rejection or complications. Temperature normalized at 37°C.

The vocalizations during sleep were the primary focus.

Mr. Tuah analyzed the recorded audio from the patient's sleep cycles. Took him two days to identify the linguistic structure.

  Aramaic. Ancient Aramaic.

The patient is speaking a dead language. A language that hasn't been in common use for nearly two thousand years. A language this crew member - a logistics staff worker from Dublin - would have no reason to know.

Mr. Tuah's translation of the repetitive phrases:

  "Awakening."

  "Awaken."

  "Waking up."

Different conjugations. Different tenses. But the same core meaning repeated over and over in sleep.

  That spooked me. Still does.

Dr. Rellana proposed patient transfer to Earth for advanced study and containment. The recommendation is to prepare transport within the next two weeks pending U.C.R. approval. She believes Gasing 03 lacks the facilities to handle whatever this case is becoming.

I agreed. This is beyond our capabilities.

  I keep thinking about it.

The Proto-Gel. The cargo. The thumping sounds. The patient speaking Aramaic about awakening.

Operation Eicere transporting something away. The sample reacting when the cargo arrived. The regeneration that shouldn't be possible.

Everything is connected. I know it is. But I don't understand how.

And there's something else. Something I can't articulate properly.

Why do I feel connected to this?
