Arc 1, Chapter 3: Training

“Thats strange city guards in this small humble town. They are probably searching for War Criminals” Told the Tutor.

“War Criminals, why would a war criminal want to hide in this town” replied Kirven, shocked at her revelation.

“Cause its easier to blame someone, they know looks like them. But cause its easier to make believable lies in a place no one knows you. In a city information is spread across like wildfire.” Explained the Tutor.

”Really, I didn’t think about that” Answered Kirven

”But to be honest, as along you don’t get caught up with this scandal. You will be fine, but I’ll see you tomorrow morning” The Tutor Replied.

The Tutor and Kirven moved down the Cliff, and into Town. At some point they split paths to go home. Kirven went back to his home its was an abandoned house on the edge of town. There he lay on the floor and watched the roof. From there he slept.

Its a new day, he woke up. Pushing himself up looking around to check if his stuff was not stolen. Luckily they remained near. He stood up and took a good stretch. Its early morning enough time to eat something. Kirven moving through Town, ate something at the Tavern. After walking in town for about 30 minutes without purpose.

He finally decided to go to his tutor location. Which was the same patch of grass he trained on for a while. When he arrived he saw his tutor just lying on the grass. His Tutor noticed Kirven and pushed herself into a standing position. She picked up her book, her grip on the book was loose.

“Hello Kirven, are you ready for some magic training. Seems like you brought a sword… do you wish to imbue magic with your swordsmanship?” spoke the tutor

”Hello, im as ready as I can possibly be. For the question, probably.” Replied Kirven.

“Good to hear, I planned about 2 hours of magic training. But I have no issue training more if you want” Answered the tutor.

“Ok now, lets start with the training” Responded Kirven ecstatically

So 2 hours of magic training when on. Learning how to control his magic. Ice magic, the shards he manifested were getting bigger, as time passed. Its slow sign of progress, but for Kirven its an sign he can become powerful in the future. Even if its a long way from now.

He also learned a few new things. People can be born with multiple elements type, but it doesn’t guarantee absolute strength. How you develop it is more important. Although there is no specific way to train magic. If you can’t learn the basics you can not be someone in the magic world.

“So what enables humans to learn magic?” spoke Kirven with curiosity, as he practiced with his blade

“Humans are capable of manipulating the natural mana in the air” Responded the Tutor

  ”how so?” pondered Kirven

”Well thats an mystery for many scholar as the answer hasn’t been found yet. Some say its an magic organ humans are born with, some even say it was an Blessing from the Goddess of Magic to enable use of magic” Answered the Tutor

”So the Scholars can’t figure which is the truth” Replied Kirven, a hint of disappointment tinged his voice.

“Yeah, but it doesn’t mean the truth will not be revealed one day” Said the Tutor

Kirven paused before her words, completing her words, maybe someone will find out. Even then where would you find the Goddess of Magic. But Kirven pushed those thoughts away. He only going to focus on the presence.

This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.

So Kirven just pushed on with his sword training, he felt like an master on top of the world. But he knew he or his Tutor are no sword master. So Kirven didn’t really know what he was doing just following the book instructions of movement.

As Kirven practiced with his sword technique he starting to realize the small mistakes he was doing but not the major ones. Kirven did see some improvements too some extent.

“Your stance is too narrow” Someones voice ringed out. Kirven just followed the voice instructions just to realize that was not his Tutor.

Kirven looked around there he was, an young boy looking form an small distance but not to far where you can’t make out any details. He looked younger than Kirven. But he was probably more skilled at him

“Who are you, and what are you doing” Questioned Kirven, he couldn’t already trust the boy.

“My name is Serral, could you share your name” Answered the Boy.

”Serral, well my name is Kirven. Nice to meet you” Responded Kirven, although he was still kinda Suspicious of Serral.

Kirven though to himself Serral its a Unique name to him. He never hear of this name before so he must be from another Region of this continent. But he would not question any further. Kirven just focused on his swordsmanship, thus he went back to training.

Kirven continued to train his progress is slow. Yet Kirven wasn’t going to stop. But Serral sat on the grass and just continue to watch Kirven practice. The Tutor was in an trance reading a book. After an hour of training Kirven decided to call of his training session for today.

“So what are you doing to do. Are you an Adventurer” Spoke Serral, an hint of eagerness in his voice

“Im just going to relax, and im not an adventurer.” Replied Kirven

“Why not I think you can become an great an adventurer, well i want to become an adventurer and join an adventurer guild” laughed Serral, with ecstatic eyes.

“Sure, thats what you have planned for your self. For me, joining an adventurer guild is only an limitation” responding Kirven,

“Really you are not really as exciting as you look to be” Replied A disappointed Serral.

Kirven didn’t respond instead he just gave a face of confusion. He just picked up his Book and close it. He sheathed his sword. Kirven didn’t want to join an Adventurer guild. He is going his own way.

“You are not going to say anything. Well i’m going to become an powerful swordsman with imbue magic with their own personal technique. I will be the greatest swordsman in Typhis history” said Serral

’Typhis course he only knows one of continent but thats probably better for him’. Kirven though to himself.

“If you are going to be using magic in your sword technique don’t over do it. Magic has consequence that builds up silently.” Responded the Tutor

Serral went silent for an second, magic has consequences? Kirven also pondered his Tutor words, what can magic do to the human body when overused. Kirven decided to walk back town. Serral decide join Kirven for an talk. Kirven continue to walk to town, as Serral jogged to Kirven.

“Hello there again” aloud Serral spoke.

Kirven didn’t want to respond but he did “Hello there” unwillingly he Replied

”Did you know i’m the Blacksmith Child. Although i don’t want to be an Blacksmith i want to be an Adventurer” Serral blurted

“I think it looks obvious that you will not become a Blacksmith you don’t look very muscular. It also looks like you will not develop said muscle” Responded Kirven.

“Hey was that an insult or something.” A hurt Serral Replied

“No just probably the honest truth about something” Answered Kirven.

“Oh, well um, Never mind. I have to get home. Bye Kirven see you tomorrow” Serral smiled split paths with Kirven.

“Bye, I hope to not see that kid again. He seems he only a few years younger than me” Whispered Kirven.

Kirven walked through town, reaching the main road. He turned the corner into the Main road, he saw few more city guards. They probably hadn’t found their suspect yet since the man is probably really good at hiding. But Kirven ignored the fact and continued on.

Kirven knew he still had a while before he truly start his journey. His foundation of power is more important right now. So he continue to walk, he reached the Tavern and entered the tavern once more. He order his usual meal and drink. As he sat down and looked around at the tavern.

Many familiar faces were seen, yet no one knew him. It was understandable he wasn’t special or unique in any way he seemed Average too the talented or to another Average person. Kirven was just training not learning actual experience in the end. Maybe soon fate will twist his hand into true experience and combat knowledge.

As Kirven hacked at his food, he had heard something outside. But he wanted to finish his meal first, the commotion outside grew quieter maybe cause someone was moving and the others where chasing. It not something Kirven should not worry about its not his issue.

Kirven finished his meal and paid up front. He exited the Tavern, the tavern was an boring most of the time he is there. He walked through the Main road. He wasn’t going to give up on his Journey before it even started.
