Banette, Mismagius, Haunter, and the rest of the ghost gang who were in the bleachers floated over as well, chattering about how awesome the fight was and patting Winnie on the back.
“See, I told you we should’ve used Alakazam.” Chloe pouted and put her hands on her hips, “He’s better at using Trace than Gardevoir is, Illusion is so overpowered, we could’ve used it against them.”
Wait, you mean they have another mega Pokemon? And you’re calling Winnie’s illusion OP. Just wait until they use two megas in a doubles battle.
Zoe rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, “You’re just saying that because Alakazam is your Pokemon. We wouldn’t have been able to take out Garchomp without a fairy type. If you want to use a mega Pokemon with Gardevoir and I next time, we’ll need to get a mega Stone for Gallade.”
“three mega pokemon is a bit overkill.” Winnie muttered before taking a bite out of the sitrus berry that I had given him.
Then someone in the stands spoke, “You two should focus on mastering the art of mega evolution before you think of obtaining more mega stones.”
It was the leader of Anistar Gym, Olympia. Her silver cape opened up to reveal a swirling galaxy-like interior as she levitated herself over the railings and walked over to us.
She gave us a reserved smile, “That was an impressive battle Azalea, you and your team have exceeded my expectations.” She looked at Winnie, “Especially you, Winnie. We don’t often get Zoroarks here, but your illusions are impressive enough that even I was fooled for a while.”
Winnie blushed and bashfully looked away, he mumbled thanks. I grinned and ruffled his mane.
Olympia then turned her attention to her students, “And I see you two have increased how long you use mega evolution.”
The twins smiled and nodded, “Yeah!” “We’ve been training” “as often as possible” “since the last time” we trained with you!”
The gym leader nodded, “Just remember that the total amount of time you can use mega evolution does not equal how long you can use it in battle. I saw you two struggling to support Gardevoir near the end of the battle.”
“Yes!” “Got it!” The twins saluted.
Olympia then reached into her cape and took out a small purple and golden accented bag and handed them to me, “Here is a Psychic badge as proof that you have bested Anistar Gym, and a TR for Future Sight. Everything is in the bag.”
Wow, a fancy little bag just for this? And it’s got that bigger on the inside tech. Ain’t that a bit expensive to just be giving out to people?
“Thank you.” I said, slightly bowing my head as I put the item in my bag.
Then I asked the twins, “So you guys can mega evolve Chloe’s Alakazam too?”
They both nodded, Chloe replied, “But we can only mega evolve one Pokemon at a time.”
“We can only mega evolve if we work together.” Zoe said.
Chloe then pouted and growled, “We heard Lisa and Tate are already working on mega evolution too. We need to master it before they do.”
Zoe emphatically nodded in agreement.
Olympia lightly shook her head, “Mastering mega evolution is something that requires patience. You two are already far ahead of Tate and Lisa, so there is no need to rush.”
“Yeah, I mean you guys can already mega evolve two different Pokemon long enough to use them in battle. That’s already hella impressive.” I said, gestured at the keystones both twins had.
“don’t be too hard on yourselves.” “Ruff rufflet let.” Winnie and Thorondor chipped in.
“Trainers much older than you guys take much longer to even be able to use mega evo,” Banette said, waving a hand at them, “you guys are fine.”
Zoe nudged her sister with an elbow, “Yeah, we are in the top percentage of Kalos trainers.”
Chloe’s pout turned into a grin, “That’s true. We’re gonna crush the finals in this year’s conference.”
“The Pokemon League hasn’t given us the okay on allowing mega evolution yet.” Olympia informed us, “It will be usable in Kalos next season as a test run, and if it goes well, other regions will get the green light for the season after.”
And then there’ll be a huge rush to get mega stones. I’ll need to try to get a Garchompite before then.
“Seriously?” Chloe whined, Zoe groaned and dragged her hand down her face in an exaggerated facepalm.
I tried to be positive about it, “Hey, that’ll just mean more time for you guys to master mega evolution. You guys are already ahead of the curve.”
“Chloe, Zoe, this isn’t about preventing people from using mega evolution for the sake of it.” Olympia said, one of her eyebrows arched disapprovingly, “The Pokemon League wants to slowly implement Mega Evolution to prevent criminal organizations from getting their hands on it. They’re already on edge because Teams Aqua and Magma used Mega Evolution during their terror attacks in the Hoenn region, and the League is aware that the corruption within other regions has yet to be uprooted as well.”
The psychic’s eyes wandered over to rest on my team and I, “Though I think it will take the perspective of someone not of our world to do the job.”
Wait what?
I glanced at Chloe and Zoe to gauge their reactions, they didn’t seem to notice the weird wording of what Olympia said.
“Uh, yeah.” I gave Olympia a thumbs up, “People who can mega evolve their Pokemon really are in a class of their own. Hopefully I’ll be able to find a mega stone and keystone for one of my Pokemon someday to join that world.”
The gym leader smiled, “Yes, mega stones are hard to find, but keystones are even harder to find. One could say they are as hard to find by chance as a diamond is.”
Before I could say anything else, Olympia gestured at the clock on the wall behind the referee stand.
“It’s getting late, let’s not keep tonight’s closers waiting.”
“Get your Pokemon healed and take them to Armure Rouge.” The gym leader said to Chloe and Zoe, then she said to me, “You’ll find the items there quite helpful.”
What items? I have battle items…that I haven’t even thought of using until now. Yay. Well, I guess I’m going with them. It’ll be fun to hang out with Chloe and Zoe for a while.
“Uh, okay, thanks. Have a good night.” I waved at Olympia as we followed the twins to the door that the referee came out from.
The ghosts dove back into my shadow as we entered a very large and very fancy looking break room, it was empty aside from a gym trainer doing some cleaning and a Chansey who was cleaning a section of the break room that was essentially a nurse’s station.
Thorondor did a quick fly through of the room before landing on one of the tables.
The Chansey came up to us and expectantly held out a Pokeball holding tray.
Chloe and Zoe put Gardevoir and Gallade’s pokeballs in the tray. I followed suit and put Sahara’s ultra ball there too.
“Chansey chanse?” Chansey asked Winnie.
He shook his head, “Nope.”
Chansey nodded and waddled over to a large, rectangular machine with a large Chansey logo on it, transferring the pokeballs to the machine before she turned it on.
The machine began to softly hum and Chansey began adjusting the settings on the machine.
“We’re gonna go change out of our gym clothes.” Zoe said to us.
I nodded, “Okay.”
She and Chloe scanned their IDs on the scanner next to one of the doors and went inside.
Winnie and I sat down on a nearby couch to wait. Chansey finished what she was doing and came over to check Winnie.
The pink Pokemon used Heal Pulse a few times, once she was done, she took an egg out of her pouch and gave it to Winnie. It was kinda like a doctor giving a kid a lollipop after a checkup.
“thanks.” Winnie said before nibbling at the egg. I smiled in amusement as his eyes widened and he instantly inhaled the egg.
Chansey smiled and nodded, “Chansey!” Then she went back to her work area to finish cleaning the machines that weren’t in use.
“So, how’re you feeling?” I asked.
Still licking his lips, Winnie replied, “i’ll be at a hundred percent once i get some sleep.”
I nodded, “That’s good. How’d you feel about the battle?”
Winnie’s eyes lit up, “it was fantastic! i never would’ve thought of that switcheroo tactic on my own.”
The illusion fox grinned deviously, “you shoulda seen gardevoir’s face when she realized she hit her own teammate. i wanna use this tactic more in the future.”
I grinned back, “It must’ve been a shock. But we’ll have to reserve it only for really strong opponents, I don’t want the trick to get old.”
Winnie nodded, a bit disapointed, “that’s reasonable. we probably should practice this with glados and sahara later.”
“Yeah we can do that.”
We paused and looked as a gym trainer came in through the same door we came in through. The battlefield behind the door was completely different from the one we had come in from. The gym trainer then swiped his card on the card reader to the same door the twins went through and went inside too. The room in through that door was different as well, with green tiled walls instead of tan colored tile walls.
That’s cool. It gives off Hogwarts vibes.
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Mismagius poked her head out of the shadow from beneath the coffee table in front of the couch.
“Olympia has the ability to see the future, right?” The magical Pokemon asked.
I nodded, “Yeah she does, I dunno how they work though.”
“Hmm, earlier she used diamonds in reference to a keystone, I wonder if she was giving you a clue.” Mismagius suggested.
Yeah, and she basically told me that she knows I’m not from this world.
I sighed as I thought about it, “I can only think of the Diamond Domain, so we’ll go check it out then.”
I was planning on checking out Reflection Cave anyways, as much as I dislike being underground the place is too cool to not take a look.
The Pokemon center song chimed from the machine to indicate that it was done. Chloe and Zoe came out of the locker room just in time to retrieve their Pokeballs with us.
After that, I collected Thorondor, and we followed the twins into a small hallway and out a backdoor, exiting the gym.
Winnie’s form shimmered as he put on his Lucario disguise again.
I looked back and watched as the door we just came out of merged back into the wall.
Chloe and Zoe didn’t treat it as anything particularly interesting, but this stuff was super futuristic.
Olympia definitely has a taste for fancy, high tech stuff.
While we were walking to Armure Rouge, the twins pointed out a bunch of cool places in the city.
There was a school for psychics to learn how to control their abilities, a few other crystal boulders similar to the sundial, though they were much smaller. They also pointed out a few restaurants and shops that they liked to visit.
I asked where they lived and learned that they switched between staying in the gym and staying with their paternal grandparents.
Their father was from Anistar, but moved to Laverre City to be with their mom, so they grew up in Laverre.
My theory about psychic abilities being genetic was starting to sound more plausible than a giant pink rock giving a city of people psychic powers.
We arrived at Armure Rouge after a bit less than an hour of walking. It was a store that sold jewelry and accessories exclusively for Pokemon.
The door chimed as we entered the small shop. Thorondor returned to perch on my shoulder due to the low ceiling.
“Hello girls!” The friendly voice of a woman came from the back of the shop.
“Hi Janelle!” The twins replied at the same time.
“Cole will be with you in a moment!” Janelle said amidst the sound of a bunch of boxes moving around.
“Okay!” Chloe and Zoe said.
“This is where Gardevoir’s mega stone crown was made.” Zoe told me, gesturing to the somewhat cluttered shop interior.
“My Alakazam got his mega spoon here too.” Chloe added.
“a mega spoon? is he gonna eat a mega amount of ice cream with it?” Winnie quietly giggled at his own joke.
Thorondor rolled his eyes, “Rufflet.”
“Hm, where’d you guys get your mega stones?” I asked.
“We got them from Professor Sycamore’s lab.”
“They used a machine made by Lysandre Labs to copy Olympia’s Alakazite and Diantha’s Gardevoirite.”
“While the mega stones were being copied, Olympia sent us out to Geosenge to Route ten and eleven to find our own keystones.”
“Then we had to go to Couriway to train with Mister Gurkinn.”
“He’s the gym leader of Couriway Gym.”
“Can I help you or are you girls going to stand there and chatter all day?” An annoyed voice came from the counter at one side of the store.
“Oh!” “Hi Cole!” “We brought you a new customer.” The twins gestured to me.
Cole, a wiry middle aged man with a resting bitch face, adjusted his glasses and scowled. Or maybe he tried to smile? It was hard to tell.
“I see,” He looked between Winnie and I, “I’m assuming you’re here to get a mega stone holder fitted.”
“Uh, no. Olympia kinda, uh, told them to bring me here.” I weakly waved towards the twins as if they’d provide an answer.
Cole raised an eyebrow, “Really? I was told that you’d have a mega stone that we needed to fit.”
“Check the bag she gave you.” Haunter whispered from the shadows.
“Uh, okay, just a sec.” I quickly dug through my bag and took out the small purple bag that I was given.
The opening stretched out big enough for me to fit my hand into it. I felt around for any items rhat didn’t feel like a gym badge or a TR and pulled out a large marble with a neatly folded piece of paper taped to it.
I did a double take as I saw the purple mega stone with a red and yellow mega symbol in its center.
“is that a…?” Winnie trailed off and glanced around.
Thorondor leaned over and curiously pecked at the stone.
That's a Garchompite. HOW?! WHAT?! I thought I got the fancy bag because actually I don’t know but surely it wasn’t for this! I don’t even know how to feel about this…just being given a mega stone.
I unfolded the note and read the neat handwriting: ‘I saved you the trouble of having to go through Victory Road to find this.’ Then a cute winky face emoji at the end.
Cole took the mega stone out of my hands while I was still collecting my jaw from the floor.
Winnie decided I was taking too long and pushed my jaw back up.
“Amber! Would you mind getting the Garchomp set?” Cole shouted to the back of the store, “Meet us out back!”
“Arma!” A Pokemon shouted in reply.
Cole gestured for us to follow him. I looked back at the twins.
Chloe waved a hand, “We actually kind of have to go now.”
Zoe nodded and they began making their way to the front door, “Grandma’s gonna be mad if we get home later than we said we will.”
I nodded, “Aight, good night then. Thanks for showing us the way here.”
“get home safe.” Winnie said, waving at them.
“No problem.” “We’ll leave Az in your care!” The twins said before closing the door.
“Mhm.” Cole hummed as we followed him out the back door and emerged onto the shop’s backyard. There was a small battlefield with some potted plants scattered around.
An Armarouge–the one he called Amber–was waiting for us with some sort of bronze-gold colored plating in its arms. The patterns on it reminded me of the necklace thingy that Alain’s Charizard wore.
Cole went over to Amber and began doing some work to snugly fit the garchompite into the divot made to hold it.
I let Sahara out, the landshark stretched and yawned like a cat. Seemed like she was sleeping.
The dragon then gave me a sassy look as if to say ‘what?’
“I’ve got a surprise for you.” I told her, gesturing to Amber and Cole. They had finished fitting the mega stone pretty quickly and were now ready for Sahara to try it on.
Sahara tilted her head.
“Armarouge arma arma rouge.” Amber said, holding the mega stone necklace up for Sahara to see.
I could see Sahara’s pupils dilate as she saw her coveted garchompite. The dragon snorted and nodded, letting the cannon Pokemon use Psychic to lift the necklace up and put it on her.
A second Armarouge came out the backdoor with a large mirror for Sahara to see how she looked. The landshark leaned in close and purred at her own reflection, shifting around to see every inch of her shiny new necklace.
Winnie leaned over to me and whispered, “we’re never getting that off her.”
I sighed and laughed, “Yeaaaaah, we’ll figure it out later.”
Cole nodded as he finished inspecting how well Sahara’s necklace fit, “It fits well, and it’ll be sturdy enough to be used in battles.”
He turned to me, “And if it gets damaged you can send it back to our shop for it to be fixed.”
I nodded.
“Are you looking to get anything else?” Cole gruffly asked.
I thought about it for a moment, “Maybe. Yeah, Glados, Winnie, and Kaiju will need item holders.” Well as long as Kaiju doesn’t chew his to bits.
“Aaand what Pokemon species are they?” The shop owner asked, sounding a bit annoyed.
“Oh, uh, a Porygon-Z, a Zoroark, and a Zweilous.” I replied.
“You don’t need one for a Porygon-Z.” Cole stated, “They’re hollow on the inside.”
“Oh, okay,” I looked at Winnie and back to Cole, “then just one for Winnie and Kaiju then.”
The shop owner nodded and went back inside the shop.
Should I follow him?
I looked back at the two Armarouges, and Sahara who was still admiring her own reflection. Amber smiled and gestured for us to follow Cole back into the store.
“Ruff rufflet let?” Thorondor asked, as I reentered the shop, he pointed at a few bird related accessories with a talon.
“Uhh, probably not now.” I answered, “I want you to focus on other skills, you’ll get your own item stuff once you’ve expanded and mastered your moveset.”
“Ruuuf.” Thorondor’s feathers drooped and then he puffed up and chirped determinedly, “Rufflet!”
“that’s the spirit kid.” Winnie said, gently fist bumping Thorondor’s wing. “you gotta work your way up to it.”
I spotted Cole picking out a few different types of items holders out of one of the display cases and went over to take a closer look.
They were basic versions of the other stuff on display, probably there specifically to be used as pieces for clients to test out before they chose something more personalized.
Winnie dropped his Lucario disguise so that he could properly try out the pieces. Cole didn’t even bat an eye at Winnie’s appearance as he helped the illusion fox try out the different pieces.
“Well who’s this handsome fellow?” Asked the warm voice that greeted us when we first came in. A jolly looking woman with a large gray streak in her wavy hair popped out from behind the main counter.
“I’ve never seen a Zoroark like you before.” Janelle than asked me, “Is he a regional variant like an Alolan Ninetales?”
“Yeah, he’s a Sinnoh variant.” I confirmed.
Janelle nodded and came over to join us, “I’ve never heard of Sinnoh having a Zoroark population before, then again, I don’t know much about the Zoroark line.” She chuckled, “We’ve only ever fitted two Unovan variants before, they’re a pretty rare encounter.”
“Mhm.” Cole said before getting back to business and asking, “Which one feels the best on you?”
“hmmm…” Winnie tapped his chin, “i dunno, none of them are particularly uncomfortable.”
“Rufflet ruff rufflet let.” Thorondor said, pointing to the necklace item holder. Winnie shrugged.
Seeing Winnie’s indecision, Cole went to pointing out pros and cons of different items, “The necklace can hold the most items, and if you’re a close combat fighter, I would not recommend getting the anklet, bracelet, or any headgear. A lot of tournaments don’t allow certain types of head adornments too.”
“Hmm, I think the claw clips work best.” Janelle commented, gesturing to the display case with different types of claw clips. “Each of them only holds one item type, but they’re individually cheaper. And it’ll be easier to hide your item in your mane.”
I nodded as I looked through the different designs, “Looks like there are more designs for these than other types too.”
Janelle chuckled, “Yeah, I tend to go a little overboard with designs for hair accessories. They’re my favorite.”
Winnie considered the suggestion for a moment before nodding, “and i can move my hair around like this,” his hair strands wriggled around like they were sentient. “so it’ll be easy to maneuver it around.”
I stared at Winnie’s mane in surprise, “Wait, I didn’t know you could do that. That’s really cool.” I poked a few of his hair strands.
Winnie wriggled his hair around like worms and waved his paws around, “blelelelelele.”
Thorondor squeaked and flapped his wings, I giggled and swatted a few hair strands away from us.
Winnie then cleared his throat, “well now you know. let's go with the hair claws thingies.”
I nodded, “Okay, we’ll go with the claw clips. Choose your favorite designs.”
A kitsune themed one, a white and blue Vivillion one, and an Alolan Ninetales themed one were Winnie’s top three picks. One could hold small items, one for medium items, and one for large items.
Janelle then helped me pick out a sturdy leather collar that could hold a dragon fang. I got two so that Kaiju’s heads wouldn’t fight each other over it.
The total cost was around 1,500 pokedollars. Most of the cost was from Sahara’s custom made necklace.
One of the Armarouges ran into the shop and used Psychic to lock and bar the door as I paid.
“Arma armarouge.” The fire type said to the shop owners in a very serious tone.
In an instant, Cole and Janelle’s relaxed moods disappeared and Cole growled, his face getting a bit red, “Don’t tell me it’s those asshats again.”
He began stomping over to the door but Armarouge stopped him, using Psychic to put the middle aged man behind the counter.
I whipped around to stare at the front door as we all heard some muffled shouting from outside. Someone was yelling about a court order and to let them in or else they’d have to arrest everyone inside.
Winnie’s hackles went up, his form shimmered as he took on the appearance of a Lucario again. Thorondor’s feathers puffed up and he let out a raspy growling sound. I winced as his talons gripped my shoulder a bit harder.
“Uhhhh, who are they?” I nervously asked.
“They, are a bunch of idiots in red costumes who think they have police authority.” Cole answered in a strained voice. He looked ready to punch someone.
Red costumes? That sounds like Team Flare.
Janelle rested a hand on Cole’s shoulder, “Take a deep breath dear, I’ve already pulled the silent alarm, the police should be on their way.”
“But the police have been absolutely useless! They always show up late and then tell us they can’t do anything!” Cole shouted, waving his arms around. “This is the third time those bastards have come back just this week!”
“What do they want with you guys though?” I tentatively asked, glancing at the door again as it withstood another round of banging.
“We’re not too sure,” Janelle said, firmly keeping a hand on her husband’s shoulder to keep him from going back to the front, “but they seem to think we have some sort of special key. It’s important enough to them that they’ve been at it for more than a month.”
The banging and shouting finally stopped.
Important Kalos keys…Maybe they’re talking about the key that AZ guy has. The one for activating the ultimate weapon. But why would they think these guys have the key to something like that?
Janelle pulled up the store’s security feed on a computer monitor next to the cash register and frowned, “Looks like they’re heading for the back entrance.”
Amber was already heading for the back, so the two shop owners followed the fire type.
Winnie and I exchanged a glance as I said, “Oh shit, Sahara is still there.”
We ran after them and emerged into the backyard just as Cole, who was completely red faced with anger, began yelling at the Team Flare grunts. All five of them had arrived in the backyard at the same time we had.
Sahara only briefly glanced over at the commotion before deciding that it wasn’t her problem. The Armarouge with the mirror tried to put the mirror down to join the others, but Sahara growled at it. She wanted to keep admiring her new look.
One of the grunts began yelling back at Cole and waving a rather dubious looking paper in the air, and repeating what they were saying before. We have a court order, you have to let us in or else, this is your last chance, give us the key or else, etc.
Cole yelled back, “WHAT KEY?! WE DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT!!!”
“You guys have the wrong place, leave us alone!” Janelle added.
Wash, rinse, repeat with the threats and resistance from both sides.
After several minutes of this farce, one of the grunts in the back—probably an admin by the looks of it—whispered to the others and pointed to his watch.
The others nodded and reached for their Pokeball belts as the admin yelled, “It looks like you’re not giving us any choice but to use force!”
Looks like they’re switching to plan B.
Sensing my heartbeat quicken, Glados zapped out of my watch, ready for a confrontation. Winnie and Thorondor tensed up, they were ready for a fight as well.
There was a series of pops and flashes as the Team Flare grunts let out their Pokemon and the backyard instantly became more crowded.
Three Houndoom, three Golbat, two Drapion, three Toxicroak appeared, ready for a fight.
Cole and Janelle followed suit, sending out a Quilava and a Bibarel. Amber jumped in too, but they were kinda outnumbered.
Amber raised her hands and used Wide Guard to shield her allies from a volley of Pin Missiles from the two Drapions.
Winnie blocked a few stray Pin Missiles with a Protect.
The Toxicroak and Houndoom trios prepared to launch themselves at the fire turtle, but stumbled back as the ground shook.
“uh oh.” Winnie whispered, tugging at my sleeve. Thoron let out a squeak.
I looked back to where Sahara was. The Armarouge holding the mirror was slowly backing away from the dragon. Shattered mirror shards were scattered on the ground all around them.
“Uh oh indeed.” I said as we saw Sahara’s anger climbing. The dragon’s face slowly scrunched up into a ferocious snarl and she slowly turned to look at the offenders who broke her mirror.
I tapped on Thorondor’s luxury ball, returning him and dashed over to Cole and Janelle with Winnie close at my heels.
“Protect!” I shouted to Glados as Winnie and I frantically dragged Cole, Janelle out of the way. Rotom zipped out of my pocket and tapped the Pokeballs on them, returning their Pokemon.
“What are you doing?!” Cole shouted, Winnie shushed him and I replied, “Brace for impact!”
The Team Flare goons had enough sense to realize that they’d fucked up in angering the giant dragon. They began backtracking as soon as Sahara began stomping towards them, her eyes full of murder. No one was allowed to mess with her while she was admiring her appearance.
I covered my ears just in time to muffle out Sahara’s ground shaking roar. Cole and Janelle stumbled and covered their ears a bit too late.
Aaaagh, what do I do to prevent her from literally just killing these guys? Should I return her? But she’ll be angry about that, and then I’ll be the one who has to deal with the angry dragon instead.
I cupped my hands around my mouth, “Trap them with Sand Tomb!”
”Blend them up like a smoothie!” I added, hoping that it would make the move more appealing than outright murdering the goons.
It worked. The landshark roared again, whipping up a massive, twisting pillar of sand that trapped the Team Flare goons and their Pokemon. There were a bunch of screams from within the sand twister as the goons and their Pokemon began taking damage from the move.
Sahara grinned evilly and waved an arm, making the sand go around even faster.
“Winnie, Confuse Ray. Glados, use Gravity when Sand Tomb goes away.” I ordered as I jogged over to Sahara, “You can let that up now.”
The landshark snorted derisively and turned her head.
I stifled a sigh of frustration, “Sahara, the mega stone was a reward for doing well in battles, not an excuse to shred people.” I gestured at the Sand Tomb, “They broke a mirror okay? They didn’t damage your new necklace. There is no need to seriously harm or injure them over a broken mirror that doesn’t even belong to you.”
Sahara growled and made a face. She turned, letting her tail almost trip me over before dispelling her Sand Tomb.
Glados’s eyes glowed as the AI activated Gravity, pinning the Team Flare goons and their Pokemon to the ground.
I grimaced as the falling sand revealed that some of their skin and fur had been sandpapered away, I was glad that most of them were unconscious. That’s rough.
I let out a sigh and returned Sahara, “Thanks girl.”
After that, Cole, Janelle, and the Armarouges returned the fainted Team Flare Pokemon and collected all the Pokeballs and weapons on their bodies.
While we were waiting for the Police to finally arrive, Cole checked on his shop and rather pointedly told me about how Sahara’s move had sanded away all of the paint on one of their outer walls.
Janelle then smacked Cole’s head and told him to stop being such a hardass. She then sent him to go drink some cold water and to retrieve the security cam footage to show the police when they arrived.
Speaking of, the police took a ridiculously long time to arrive. Especially since this was a shop in the jewelry district. One would expect the authorities to be a bit more urgent about hurrying to a silent alarm in the jewelry district.
The Armarouges kept Cole inside while Janelle and I talked to the officers and the Team Flare grunts were quickly taken away to the hospital to get their road rashes taken care of.
After a while I was able to leave, and go to a Pokemon Center to book a room for the night.
The twins were suspiciously unsurprised about the incident with Team Flare when I told them about it, but they didn’t give me any useful information otherwise.
The ghosts and I suspected that Olympia sent us there at least partially to help deal with Team Flare. She could’ve just asked us to help out if that was the case…
It didn’t matter anymore, but now I was a bit paranoid about getting unwanted attention from Team Flare. So I decided to leave the city a bit earlier than we originally planned.
It was time to do some anti-ice training with Kaiju and Sahara on Route 17, and test out the items I’d been stupid enough to never use until now.
