Hey everyone!

  So, it’s officially been one year since Minus One first released! Honestly, it feels wild. To celebrate, I got a few announcements for you all.

  First off, The Council ArcOctober 17thArc ThreeRanking Arc!January 2nd, 2026

  Here’s a little teaser for what’s ahead:

  “The ranking system has only just begun, and already the students are thrown into their first special exam.

  With various rules and shifting alliances, one wrong move could cost Diya more than her place in the rankings; it could cost her future.”

  This arc is going to focus a lot on Diya (my favourite character, if you didn’t know or forgot). And because she’s my favourite… well, she’s about to go through hell. Here’s an extract from the opening of the arc:

  “Revenge.

  They say it’s a dish best served cold. The slow burn, the delayed strike, the quiet satisfaction as time erodes memory. The target, having long moved on, never sees it coming. That’s the beauty of it.

  But not everyone has the patience for the long game. Some prefer to strike while the iron is hot. Instant justice.

  Two paths, opposite in nature, yet both effective.

  Love this novel? Read it on Royal Road to ensure the author gets credit.

  And sometimes, there exists a perfect middle ground: swift retaliation masked with subtlety. An act so sudden they don’t realise it was revenge at all until the damage is done and the realisation dawns far too late.

  Of course, many would argue that forgiveness is the nobler path. That if the harm wasn’t intentional, we should let it go.

  And sure… that’s possible. People can forgive. People should forgive.

  But really…

  Where’s the fun in that?”

Now for a few updates on how things will be handled moving forward:

  

• Chapter numbers won’t reset every arc anymore. So instead of Arc Three starting back at “Chapter One”, it’ll continue from the last arc (meaning it starts at Chapter 30).
• Illustrations are changing too. Up until now, every main story chapter had two, but from Arc Three onwards, it’ll be more flexible. Some chapters might not have any, while others will have at least one. This way I can spend more time making the illustrations I do release even better, and honestly, it keeps me from burning out, especially since Arc Three has over 20+ main chapters and 11 side stories… yeah, I’m not making 40+ illustrations.
• Speaking of arcs, Arc Three is the longest one so far, but Arc Four? It’s looking even bigger (like 40+ main chapters already in planning). I don’t have a release date for it yet since I’m also working on another project, but there will be a mini arc in between.

  Finally, I just want to say thank you. It’s been a year since I started posting this story here. Growth has been a bit slow (probably my fault for not advertising much), but honestly, I really enjoy working on Minus One and building this world, so I’ll keep going regardless. Appreciate all of you who’ve stuck around and supported so far.
