Chapter 72: Uneventful Tunnels

Snorter, meanwhile, was heading down the tunnel on the inside right. This tunnel took a sharp right and then she was face-to-face with a bipedal lizard pushing a cannon. Behind the lizard (and cannon) was none other than Plagiarize, who was conversing with it.

“So let me get this straight,” said Plagiarize. “You are a harmless lizard who was afraid when you heard us in this fortress, so you used a cannon to blast through a wall to scare us away?”

“Yup,” said the lizard, who was visibly afraid.

“Well I think you’re lying!” exclaimed Plagiarize as he blasted the lizard with a wall of fire from his Fire Gem.

“What the heck are you doing??” shouted Snorter.

“I was killing that lizard before he could kill us!” said Plagiarize. “It’s only common sense. He probably had some sort of weapon and was ready to strike at any moment. In fact, I know he had a weapon!”

  “Oh really? How?”

  “The cannon!”

  “Oh.”

There was a moment of awkward silence.

“Does this tunnel go anywhere?” asked Snorter.

“Nah, it just connects back to mine,” said Plagiarize.

  “Well that was uneventful.”
