  Blood runs down in rivers

  Magnificent beast brought so low

  The crimson seeps from the bullet wound.

  Disproportionate response

  A shark would call it man

  Fear the monster in the dark

  Yet fear not the monster inside?

  Man’s inhumanity, the dichotomous war

  Destroyer, despoiler, protagonist

  But fear nature red in tooth and claw.
