A burning sensation all over her body woke Nova up. She unceremoniously deposited the wolf-girl that was on her p onto the floor. Sapphire woke up with a start. Her bright eyes looked up at Nova like two stars. The offended wolf-kin couldn’t distract Nova, as she waded through thick golden light that felt like being surrounded by a burning quagmire. She had to escape before it was too te.

  Juniper barged in the fertility wing. Their body shone with golden light, as they picked Nova up with terrifying speed. Juniper ran out of the temple as fast as they could. With a worried Sapphire at their heels. The entrance of the temple was crowded. A lot of children were transporting food into it. Juniper knocked over a child carrying a basket of bread in their haste. Juniper put Nova down as soon as they left the area that the Sanctuary spell was effecting.“Stay with her! I have some words for the head priest!” Juniper said angrily to Sapphire, as they caught their breath.

  The town was cloaked in a cursed fog. Nova wondered what happened to cause such a change in the town and in the temple. “What happened?” Sapphire asked, confused, giving Nova a worried look. She put one of her soft hands on Nova’s forehead. “You feel a bit hot.”“I will be fine after a short rest,” Nova replied tiredly.Nova’s body finally stopped regenerating as all the damage from the holy magic was healed. Her body cooled down, as her regeneration stopped. Despite what happened she still had a decent amount of energy left.Beornia soon appeared out of the fog. She ascended the hill toward Nova.“We have town patrol soon. The transformation into a cursed wild is happening faster than anticipated.” Beornia sighed.“Cursed wild?” Nova asked.“Any nd not protected by the Maiden Goddess becomes a cursed wild. Shrines of the Maiden Goddess keep the curse at bay. Monsters have started appearing inside the town walls,” Beornia expined. “They were supposed to wait for me before they did the Sanctuary spell,” Beornia said, upset, as she looked at the golden light enveloping the temple. “As you have probably noticed, the Sanctuary spell purifies monsters and demons that enter its influence.”

  “Mistress, we might as well join the wind demon. That spell is very bad news for you,” Echo said concerned.“How should we manage my situation?” Nova asked Beornia.“Couldn’t the Sanctuary spell purify your curse?” Sapphire asked curiously.“Killing me is the only way…” Nova replied crestfallen.

  Without a word Sapphire pulled Nova into a hug. Her boobs are comfy. How does she carry those things around? Nova thought as she rested her head on Sapphire’s breast.“The town hall might be the best pce to stay. It’s the least likely building to be torn down to fortify the temple,” Beornia expined. “Are you even listening?” Beornia asked Nova, as the tter sighed in satisfaction. With a look of pure bliss on her face.“I’m listening,” Nova said after tearing herself away from the comfy pillows. “I would hate to go into that building again,” Nova said, as she remembered her brief imprisonment. “Boobs are really nice,” Nova accidentally said out loud, very satisfied and energetic. “I’m ready to go!” Beornia shook her head before putting her helmet over her flushed face. Wait did I say that out loud. Nova squirmed a bit, finding Beornia’s reaction to be cute.

  Juniper stormed out of the temple still angry. “Let's go.”They were still fuming as they patrolled the town with their companions.“What’s wrong?” Beornia finally asked Juniper.“The head priest started the Sanctuary spell while Nova was still inside knowing full well that she is…” Beornia hit Juniper with her fist and gave them a gre. “Um… knowing full well her condition,” Juniper corrected themselves while rubbing their arm.Sapphire sharp as ever looked at Nova with interest. She patiently wagged her tail.“I will tell you the full story after the siege,” Nova promised her. “I can’t wait!” Sapphire said excitedly wagging her tail.They were interrupted by the sound of a slime nding near them. The slime’s viscous fluids sloshed around under its skin. It jumped again, boinging off of Beornia’s firmly pced shield.Nova felt drawn to the strange slime. It looked cute and squishy. Sapphire hurled a fireball at the slime. The slime absorbed it. Juniper attempted to stab at the slime with their holy spear, but Nova put a hand on them.“I will handle this,” Nova told them.

  The succubus walked in front of everyone else. The slime jumped at the closest target it could sense. Nova tried to catch it with her arms. But its translucent skin passed through her arms. The slime started digesting Nova’s arms with its caustic goop.“My dy, pour your power into it. Make it your familiar,” Echo suggested.Wasting no more time Nova pushed some erotic power through her arms into the slime. A purple cloud transformed the insides of the slime from a clear color to a purple color. The goop stopped eating away at Nova’s arms. It started to feel really pleasant. Uncomfortably pleasant Nova thought suppressing a moan. She quickly willed her hands outside of the slime. Nova could feel her own body pressing against the slime from its perspective as well as her own.Echo excitedly fist bumped Juniper, they gave each other a knowing look. “What’s that about?” Nova asked, squinting her eyes at them.“We bonded a while ago,” Juniper said with a sultry voice.“You make it sound so lewd! We only had a few drinks!” Echo said feigning offense. “I only have eyes for you mistress!” Echo decred proudly.“Do what you want,” Nova replied with disinterest.Beornia and Sapphire gave Nova and Juniper confused looks.

  “You can tame monsters!” Sapphire excitedly ran up to Nova when she noticed the slime snuggling up to her. “I have never seen a tamed monster that is such a rare skill!”I probably just did the same thing the wind demon did. How many of them does he directly control? Or does he program them with a list of commands?

  “Can I hold it?” Sapphire asked practically bouncing. “Fine you can hold it,” Nova willed the slime to jump into Sapphire’s arms.Nova found it disconcerting that she didn’t detect any consciousness in the slime. It had no will of its own. It seemed to be just an extension of herself like an arm or a leg. Can that really be called a familiar? It just feels like me. Although Sapphire’s arms wrapped around me like that is rexing. Sapphire was happily squishing the slime blissfully unaware of it being a part of Nova.“Can I take care of them?” Sapphire asked, as she motioned at the three approaching goblins.“Knock yourself out kid,” Beornia responded.“I will let you know I'm already twenty!” Sapphire said, pouting with an annoyed huff, as she crossed her arms.“Aww you are still a cute baby,” Juniper teased, poking at her cheeks.Sapphire spped their hand away, shooting them a gre. “I will show them,” she muttered to herself, as she prepared to take on the goblins.Nova leaped her slime-self onto Sapphire’s shoulder. Sapphire patted the slime on her shoulder.

  She focused on the closest goblin. After concentrating for a moment a bolt of lightning shot from her arm, roasting the goblin. She buried both the remaining goblins to their waists in the ground. Quickly transforming into a beautiful bck wolf with a white underside. The wolf-kin bit one goblin, then tore the other one apart with her cws.

  “Slimes are very special monsters; they can absorb things to get stronger!” Echo said.Nova moved her slime-self off of Sapphire. She tried to bring the electrocuted goblin into herself. It was repulsive, reminiscent of the time she absorbed goblin erotic energy. Her slime-self spat the goblin out. “Nope, goblins are not dinner,” Nova said.“They are not tasty at all,” Sapphire said in-between drinking gulps of water. “Did we bring anything stronger?” “We need to stay alert,” Beornia replied

  Sapphire stuck out her really long tongue while her face contorted in disgust. Sapphire brightened up. She grabbed the slime and licked it. “Eeek” Nova cried out. “Don’t do that. It tickles.”“That felt good, and no more goblin filth on my tongue,” Sapphire said. She then looked at the slime, and said. “I could just eat you,” She squeezed it very hard and nuzzled into it.“C-can you stop!” Nova said desperately, sinking to the ground overstimuted.Beornia took the slime from Sapphire giving her a serious look. Her face rexed a little as she felt the slime. She quickly returned it to a recovering Nova.

  “I’m-I’m terribly sorry I didn’t realize you shared senses,” Sapphire apologized.She helped Nova up off the hard ground. Nova gave her a tired smile trying to communicate that she didn’t have to worry about it.“The slime stays with Nova when we are working,” Beornia told Sapphire.The wolf-kin looked sadly at the ground, as her ears drooped. She moped a bit until they found more monsters which she excitedly helped dispatch them.

  Nothing more of note happened during their patrol. They killed some goblins and a few slimes. Nova didn’t dare make another familiar just the one made her uncomfortable enough. She also didn’t try to absorb anymore monsters. The slimes would have been hard to kill without the use of holy magic. They resisted most other magical attacks. And physical attacks had to destroy their core. It is often small, and can move around their body.
