"The higher-ups want to...
... Crush. Her. Heart...!"
As those words are spoken, thunder bellows once more as if to add an emphasis on Doktah's madness! Rain pitter-patters on the single open window lined with iron bars, getting everything in this room wet!
The phrase [Crushing One's Heart], or【杀人诛心】 has special connation in Vespana tradition. It was the stratagem employed against The First during the [Siege of Shirohime] all those five hundred years ago in the Olden Days. It was hoped by the then [Eunarchy] that by forcing the pure-hearted princess to witness atrocity upon atrocity and cruelties upon cruelties inflicted upon her supporters, she would crack and surrender the castle by herself. The siegers rounded up all the friends and supporters of the trapped and besieged princess they could y their hands on and...
"... and tell me, how that ended up during 《The Princess Wars》?", Morganna asks dryly.
"The First only got away due to the machinations of a certain unnamed strategist... Had it not been for her interference in [Yvves City], the [Siege of Shirohime] would have finished before the rainy season. Odd, isn't it? Something a poor, na?ve princess could not have predicted by her lonesome, let alone revolved her entire siege strategy around holding out until then."
Patting the side of Morganna's cheek exactly twice while coming dangerously close again...
"That unknown and unnamed strategist would only retroactively be acknowledged as one of the central pilrs of Vespana... The person who would become the Olden Era's first and only [Lord Protector] during the war...
And her name...?Morganna Fayde!"
Morganna remains silent. She of course understood the meaning full well, being a Controllist insider. The ones who have bided their time and infested the dark corners of the Continent have set a many centuries-old pn in motion for a long time now. A pn that had already been deduced by the twinned bck and red dice of [X+Y]...!
Of course, the two schemers had no idea that their conspiracy had just been exposed by the 'Trabuls' that pgued them for the st three years...!
Morganna gives a cursed smile, shing her left hand against the handcuff that locks her onto the hospital bed! Cursed script lights up in pale and eerie greenish glow, covering the body and chain of the cuffs which bite deeply into her wrists!
"So violent... I thought you like this stuff?"
"I prefer it when I am the one doing the stringing-up."
"You do have the 'heart' of a [Founder] within you...
Hei, that resistance is... decidedly uncute."
"Lock-down all mennetic faculties."Green glow comes over the monarchess's eyes, stilling her completely. Even when the girl with her head dyed an oranged-blood red runs a circur figure eight across the patient-colleague-prisoner's chest, the brown-haired beauty is unable to say, think or do anything now!
With a single finger, Doktah is able to push the front of Morganna's chest back down into lying position. With a casual swing of her crossed legs, she crosses over with a straddling motion upon her patient, who can only stare bnkly at the front with her vacant, glowing green eyes!
"I know you can still listen." The Doktah leans close to Morganna's ear, brushing the brown hair that falls straight down aside, "The servant catgirl you worry so much about..."
Even under the mental lockdown, Morganna's eyes can still widen and her ears prick up on furious anger...!
"... She's dead. And you... did the deed yourself...!"
[SFX:THUNDER!]
"Nobody can go against a Controllist directive... Not even if it is you, little Fayde...!" Pulling out a familiar naginata-like object from inside her top pocket, the tiny translucent bded tool is filled with a nauseous pink liquid, with a push of the bottom rounded end, a little of that pink fluid escapes the tool from under the fluorescent lights!
"You are sick. Your heart needs urgent treatment. It so happens we were talking about a very convenient treatment... heiheiheiheihei!" The one who is the truly sick and evil bastard who should be broken in half with gawd as a witness rubs the unmoving patient's heart cover with twisted affection from her straddling position.
"I wonder how far more can I crush a heart long ground to fine powder...?!"
With those words and the rattling of the covering curtains around this hospital bed, a linen cover is draped over the sides of this bed, preventing further viewing of this scene! Immediately, all fluorescent lights are shut off, bnketing the cell room in absolute and impenetrable darkness!
>implying Neko-chan's not right here lol (steps) *angry catgirl grunting noises intensify*>implying implying implying lol lmao
By the time morning came for your small and cute detective, dark raindrops are dashing their st against the curtains that shut out the rainy New Coimbra streets below.
"I had a really weird dream again..."
I normally remember the complete details of every [Deroux Theater] I get pulled into. It almost always ends with Madi-san inflicting punishment on some poor sap, usually (me). This time however... The st thing I remember was Sachiko-senpai stepping up to the stage and the two of them doing some intense battle of green below those stage curtains.
Shuddering, I hope Sachiko-senpai is alright!
That said, this st [Deroux Theater] is really the complete defeat of the Red and the Blue. Its not like they have absolutely no use, but remember, Vespana is a magickal and wonderous pce! I will not be able to wield the full power of logical thinking in such an environment, no matter how much I try. To add insult to injury, Madi-san seems to have completely adapted to using the red and blue for her own dirty deeds, so any direct csh is sure to result in my loss...!
Fortunately, Sachiko-senpai threw me a bone.
Two bones, in fact.
The >greentext.
And...
This.
I pull out the dice Sachiko-senpai handed me in Deroux Theater from my green jacket's side pocket. Ah don't worry, this is the real deal! I guarantee it with the detective's red! Getting 'souvenirs' from Deroux Theater is not something that is new to me by now! The dice is still as inert as it was before, compared to Madi-san's which lit up with truths the moment she touched hers. Rotating the dice between my fingers, I find that each of its twenty sides are inscribed with sigils instead of numbers, no telling which obscured truth is supposed to come first.
From what I can surmise, these two dice are the keys to breaking the stalemate between me and Madi-san!
Where would I even begin using this anyway?
For starters, I'm quite sure that this works with my own [Truths, Red and Blue]. So let me try it out.
1) "It is for certain that Fox-Mask is the enemy."
Immediately, one of the sides of the dice light up along the red text scrolling past the side of my room now! That one was an easy truth. Even Madi-san acknowledged it with her creepy smile. The question really then is what is Fox-mask up to, how is she doing it? There are very little clues to this, since she spoke little and there's simply not enough evidence on any end, but I can tell one more thing from personal experience.
2) "Fox-Mask is using unknown chemical P that messes with the senses."
It probably is the pink mist. How it works or where it comes from is a mystery. [1] However, it is for certain that it made MY head groggy when I inhaled it, and the silly grey-haired Prinz didn't look too good when she did either. That shouldn't happen. I'm the detective, if MY vision can be messed with, how can we know what's real or not?!?!
This time, instead of the red, text in faint bluish glow scroll past the back of my head, disappearing through the bedroom walls. I could be absolutely wrong and Fox-Mask could be using Kyoxka Sxigetsu for all I know, but given the events that happened, this is the most logical thing I can conclude.
As I think those thoughts, a second side of the die lights up; when I tap it, the procmation in blue "Fox-Mask is using unknown chemical P that messes with the senses." is repyed again, very briefly tinting my bedroom in ocean-borne color and passing through the air once more.
That confirms something for me! This thing works more like a puzzle than a notebook! I am a little too used to abusing the red to confirm certain things, so the 'detective's vision' part simply didn't get recorded into the die. Doesn't mean the red is not the absolute truth, that mechanic still works. It just means that it might not be as relevant to this case as I think. I can input 'truths' into this dice and it becomes 'my' personal truth that can combat Madi-san's conspiracies...! Naturally, unlike hers, mine are going to all be based and off logic, of course!
[FROM NOW ON, AYANO'S 'Y' SIDE TRUTHS WILL BE RECORDED INTO THE GLOSSARY]
...
I can work with this! Thanks to Sachiko-senpai's help, I am now able to determine by myself if a theory is getting 'hotter or colder' and whether I am getting closer to the 'whodunnits' and 'howdunnits', all without some big-boobed idiot crushing my already fragile ego with her nonsense theatrics! Gripping my tiny hand around the faintly glowing red dice with white sigils...
Just wait, Madi-san...!
Truths in hand,
I'll form the perfect theory to turn your 'conspiracies' into 'mysteries'...!
When that happens...
I will be able to ...
... Crush. Her. Heart...!
Go Go And Learn Moonrunes Solve Mysteries With Aya-chan![1] Usage of Drugs In a Mystery - I'm pretty sure someone out there thinks I am staking myself on one of the Knox's commandments, but that isn't so! Knox only prevents the use of unexpined drugs that were not foreshadowed in a story! For this one, the usage of drugs is clearly stated and procimed early in the story, so its a feature, not a bug!
