Aaron froze. Carefully sensing things, he realized this arose because the Primordial Furnace had smelted the weak AI, extracting an “assistant intelligence.”
It scanned his current stats, then, based on the data he had absorbed, assembled a “data panel.”
That way, Aaron (the reader) can get a more exact grasp of his abilities.
Beyond that,
Aaron gained another power:
[Data Overlord]: A simir ability detected and merged (Network Control). Your knowledge and mastery of cyberspace has deepened further. You will become the ruler of the digital world, almost omnipotent. Only other intelligent life can stand against you.
“So now I’m basically an AI being?” Aaron thought. Countless ideas flitted through his brain, and with his will, those ideas “digitized” into the network. A world of zeros and ones, which even top-notch coders couldn’t fully decipher. Previously, Aaron could enter that world and convert data into zeros and ones, but only at a superficial level. Now, a single look told him the data’s contents, and he could manipute it all effortlessly.
His dominion over cyberspace was now tens, hundreds of times greater! If he wished, aside from a few heavily restricted zones, he could break into most of the world’s firewalls in no time. He was practically a god in the data realm.
Still, Aaron wasn’t compcent. After all, just half a block away was another AI.
He looked up through his luxurious picture window, gazing toward Stark Industries in the distance, letting out a silent ugh.
Nearby, Felicia took a big swig of water, then poured another gss to rinse out her mouth, swallowing everything right in front of Aaron.
“Boss, we just got an invitation. Miss Potts from Stark Industries delivered it on Mr. Stark’s behalf—he hopes you’ll attend.”
Aaron gnced at the invite: Monaco Historic Grand Prix.
Auto-racing? Boring—he wouldn’t go. He was about to refuse when something clicked.
“It’s 2010, right?” he asked.
Felicia nodded, puzzled.
Aha, that’s the timeframe of Iron Man 2. Tony personally takes part in the race, then gets ambushed by Whipsh halfway through. If not for Happy and Pepper reacting quickly, Tony might have been killed on the spot.
Aaron didn’t care about the race itself nor Tony’s fate, but he was somewhat intrigued by Whipsh (Ivan Vanko). Ivan’s father, Anton Vanko, co-developed the Arc Reactor with Tony’s father, but greed led to Howard Stark kicking him out of the US. He died penniless, bedridden. Last November, upon seeing Tony Stark decre “I am Iron Man,” Anton died in anger—so Ivan swore revenge. He was a fierce character who, despite having no money, used his father’s leftover Arc Reactor notes to manually build another small Arc Reactor, rigging a crude exoskeleton out of it. Another technical genius.
Aaron thought it over. Dr. Octavius’s miniature “sun” project would still need time. Oscorp was busy gathering tritium and building a tritium production pnt. That would take time. Meanwhile, Ivan Vanko’s accomplishments might serve as a temporary patch.
Right away, Aaron instructed, “Have a private jet ready. We’ll head out soon. You’ll come with me.”
Felicia grinned, happily calling to arrange it. Meanwhile, Aaron picked up the day’s “to-do list” Norman had left. He eyed the first item, his brow arching.
