Chapter 240: New Design in Space (R18?)

  In the Storage Space.

  Construction was in progress...

Despite her lithe frame, An Jali lifted up the final stone slab with zero issues.

The instant the final wall was slotted perfectly into place, another similarly-sized slab appeared just inches above the three raised walls.

The slab dropped down with a solid thud to complete the two-and-a-half cubic meter stone room.

  "Almost done..."

Taking a step back, An Jali shifted her gaze toward the stacked boxes that formed a makeshift staircase next to the room.

Hopping lightly up the boxes, she reached the top and began adjusted the crooked stone roof so that its grooves locked snugly into the joints of the walls below.

Sashimoto at its finest, but done with sandstone.

Seeing the roof was in place, the overseer of the construction did the final check before sending out some praise. “Good work.”

Looking up to her heaven, An Jali smiled and wiped her brow, although no sweat clung to her.

"Anything for my king. If my king is satisfied, you should feed Jali lots next time. This hour consumed a lot Jali’s energy…"

Her little wish was made known to her heavens. It can be seen as a typical trick to gain favor, but her claims weren’t false.

Construction work was just as energy-intensive as combat.

The essence burned during this short period might really require his little brother to run another marathon!

But this salary must be paid sooner or later. She really was a great help to him.

Thus, a single thought fished the thirsty worker out from the space.

Appearing out in the open in next sec was the big beauty with fishnet outfit stretching over her smooth, sun-kissed skin.

Her celebrity-level looks and plumpness would leave many men salivating and daydreaming, but as her manager, entertainment was not longer just imagination for Bubai.

“Play quietly. You know what to do.”

Those upturned hazel eyes gave him a knowing smile.

Shifting aside the fold of his robe, her face leaned in, letting her clean rows of teeth tug at his trousers…

While his little brother discussed the in-depth terms of the contract pertaining to the rise of his entertainment industry, Bubai’s consciousness jumped back into checking on his construction industry.

Oh Merlin, the changes to the warehouse’s landscape here was great.

From an aerial view, it was clear the storage facility was split into two sections.

At the southwest graveyard corner was where the just-completed stone tomb resided.

Since the room was still waiting for its door installation, a wall of this cobbled-together construct was missing, allowing a clear view into the interior.

Sitting on the stone floor inside was a brazier that was just as lifeless as the corpses piled at its side.

This morgue was his plan to keep any foul smell away from the rest of the space.

Adjacent to this makeshift morgue, the space opened up into a right-angled buffer zone Bubai dubbed “the garden”.

Here was the home for some of his larger objects.

This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.

Various jars, boxes, basins, the large bronze water vat, and even his newly acquired bamboo ladder all had their spots around the graveyard corner.

This left the space a bit crowded, especially considering the partition of hardwood walls neatly cordoning off the outer perimeter of this garden.

These tall walls were actually the backs of his recently purchased shelves, which went on to wrap around the outer perimeter of the north and east sides of his storage space.

A roof formed by five interconnecting stone slabs rest over these shelves, quarantining the sanctuary within from its “grave neighbor”.

Aside from some gaps between the shelves waiting to be patched, only one wide-open entrance remained in the southeast corner of the warehouse.

Facing the east side of the tomb here was an open gap.

This was the designated “Junk Corner”, and the shelves stored here will face the highest exposure to any leaks from the grave corner.

Of course, it was a bit extravagant to have a few shelves just for keeping junk, but what goes here in the future will be the “good” junk meant to be hoarded.

The real smelly trash can just air themselves out on the new roof of the morgue.

The space over the flat rooftops naturally won’t be wasted. This was the main benefit of adding a new layer to his warehouse.

“Alas, I can only store light-weight stuff on this second floor.”

There was indeed a lot more space, but it must be used wisely because Bubai knew the hardwood shelves below might not be able to bear the weight.

In the short term, there might be no problem, but in the long term, the wood might deform under the weight and perhaps even collapse!

“It would’ve been better if I went all out to construct my storage foundation using white jade or metal cases. Alas…”

He really can’t afford to be so extravagant with his net worth. Even the custom metal cubbies he ordered made him feel the strain.

“But once those boxes come in, I can use them to form support pillars for the roof to temporarily remedy the issue.”

This wasn’t the best solution, but close to the cheapest option.

Save when he can. After all, there were still lots he had to pay for, including his hard-working builder doll’s salary...

Suddenly, Bubai’s permeating divine sense alerted him of someone stirring from her slumber upstairs!

  Oh no… what a coincidence.

The sleeping beauty has been out cold because the investigators really went heavy on whatever drugs they dosed her with.

Now, those eyelids were finally fluttering open. His waifu is awake!

But that strangely made Bubai’s excitement shoot up!

Bubai urged An Jali through their connection, “Quick. She’s awake.”

The gears in the doll’s mind turned, and she obediently cranked up the speed.

When the bedroom door upstairs creaked open, Bubai also flung open the door to his floodgates!

  Step. Step. Step.

Her barefoot steps were silent against the cold hard stairs, but every step was almost in sync with the faintly audible gulps...

When the lady of the house passed by the lounge, Bubai could almost feel the stone sinking in his stomach.

Step. Step. Step. The sword-bearing lady ready to catch the thieving cat got closer and closer...

The doorway to the bathroom was wide open. There was nothing hiding what’s happening in here!

The exhilaration of being caught in the act almost caused Bubai to go with the flow, but in the end, his survival instincts kicked in.

A thought sent her away. Another tucked on his pants. The final thought made the full water vat appear overhead.

When Xiao Lan turned the corner, all she saw as a grunting man doing weight training.

Bubai looked over with an innocent face. “Awake?”

“Mm…” Those cold, assessing eyes searched the pool with a detached curiosity, “Okay?”

“Fine, for now.” Bubai set down the light vat and walked over to hold his waifu, inspecting her all over. “Did they hurt you?”

Her response was a simple, “No fight.”

It was clear she had chosen cooperation, much like he had—a sensible decision when facing the odds stacked against them.

Bubai’s lips curved into a wistful smile. “It seems we should be able to pass this Blue Moon safely.”

Xiao Lan responded with a soft “En” before resting her head on his shoulder.

He could almost feel her conducting the usual sniffing. She’s not a dog, but he swears, her nose must be better than one!

Only… she said nothing. But those calm blue eyes without a ripple certainly made the guilt crawl on his skin.

“Ahem. Xiao Lan, why don’t we head upstairs to cultivate?”

“You go.” Xiao Lan tapped his hip with the hilt of her sheathed sword. “I refine down here.”

Well.. not too surprising. Unless it’s dual cultivation, a single cultivation chamber really wasn’t suitable for duo cultivation.

Xiao Lan just got her new spirit sword and refining it was pretty much the top priority on her agenda.

Refining a sword was never as simple as a drop of blood or a sliver of Qi.

Time was of the essence because even after gaining initial control, there was long-term refinement to deepen the bond.

Alas, the sudden intrusion by investigators left her out of commission for hours, and she had no chance to refine the sword until now.

To not waste the spirit stones they spent and for her own safety, it was best she got to it.

“Then Xiao Lan, I’ll see you in a bit.”

  “En.”

Leaving her a warm smile, Bubai briskly went away.

She had her way to increase her combat power, and he should be well on his way to increase his own as well.

Sensing the stilled figure awaiting orders within his storage space, Bubai sent her a task. "Board up the gaps between the shelves and organize the items onto the shelves. I’ll feed you more later."

  “As you command, my king.”

The well-oiled machine got to work, and Bubai’s consciousness zoomed out to his mysterious space.

The shimmering verdant pool greeted him, and Bubai knew it was about time this half-full dantian gets filled up.

“Wonder what kind of changes there will be once this milestone is achieved?”
