Chapter 19: The Forge System

  Glug Glug Glug

  "Yaaa! ons systems, active!"

Lasers shot out from around him into the gaxy beyond, brilliant fshes and explosions lighting up the void. Nothing was really happening- just Ats drunkenly pying around with the fact that he could summon anything with his mind.

Beer, pizza, ser beams, and explosions. It was a bst while drunk.

"Zzzzzt!" He made a mog sound as a silent arc of energy shot from his forehead, drawing rather silly and poorly do into the nebus.

At least, it seemed like art to him.

To Wisp, who watched with btant disappoi, it was a trashy show.

"Weaver Ats, erm... perhaps some rest now?"

"Don't tell me when to rest!" Ats hiccupped. "I need -hie badass armor to protect myself from your bullsh- -hic- -it.

  "I got fe points."

  "No, you don't, Weaver Ats."

  "Show me the fe!"

  "There isn't a literal fe."

  "THE FE!"

Suddenly, the surroundings pletely disappeared. Wisp chirped in surprise and arm, flying close to Ats.

  "Weaver Ats, please stop this!"

  "I'll have, A FE!"

A brilliant fsh of red light erupted, and looming before him, a giah. The initial roar of fmes pushed them back, and Wisp was forced to grab onto Ats's hair with its beak.

"Egh." The sudden fsh of heat didn't do Ats any good as he vomited on the floor—though it quickly vanished as if he had never do.

Ats squi the s h before him, trying to read the words, but it was virtually impossible in his state. Agitated and drunk, he hurled the interfato the hearth, which merely sparked.

"Fu' too many words. Why don't I have anything?"

"WEAVER ATLAS!" Wisp chirped angrily into his ear. "The Fe points weren't literal fe points! They were fene points- for cyberic or robotic races!"

"Ah, you're sweating the small details. If I ge it like this, we just add another for robots."

"There is no guarantee of such augments to the system! The fact that you were able to alter it now is stunning even to me!"

"You may have plicated the path toward future cyberic races for no reason!" Wisp tio chirp angrily. "Before, it would've ended with some brief altering on your species sole, but now..."

Wisp's gaze shifted toward the hearth while Ats's unfocused eyes rested on Wisp.

"A fe system? Sure, it enhanon-cyberic lifeforms, but you've obstructed progress down a certain path. Especially in your inebriated state..."

"Aaaah! You're w too much! It'll be like those shows where suits are built with runes and magid shit."

Ats's overly loud voice echoed before he finally focused on the new system.

A hearth with fmes danced between different shades. Some flickered normally between red and light blue hues. Others were more unnatural- white, bck, and purple.

Eternally flickering fmes, with coals that never seemed to disperse, and a full array of bcksmithing tools lined up against its exterior.

At the base before them, an anvil sat surrounded by molds for different ons and armor, scattered across the floor.

Out of boredom, Ats picked up one of the hammer-types and ba on the anvil.

A sharp, resonating ping- just like any medieval bcksmith's fe. Nothing special.

  "Where are all the materials?"

  "You have none."

  "How do I get them?"

Wisp hesitated, w if Ats would even recall this after his slumber, but forced itself to answer regardless.

"Of all the Weavers, I've only seen this happen twice- though under different, more acceptable circumstahey collected materials through s."

Ats frowned, clearly disliking that notion. "So I have to -hic- wait and vihose wigglers to give me their preaterials? Nah, I'll just take it."

  "What do you mean?"

"I'll create a divine skill to take materials- like the ones scattered in the mountain!"

Wisp was about to protest when Ats cut it off. "I'll leave some for them, but gods need godly things. They got 250 Primordials- or however many are left after the Bck Primordial Dragon's massacre- and numerous dragons."

Exhaling, Wisp was grateful there were no divine points left as Ats pulled up his powers, but he quickly frowned again.

"Ah, damn it. Yeah, I'm out of points."

A silence fell, broken only by the crag of the hearth.

"Could... I go down and collect it myself?"

Wisp's beak fell open in shock. "You want to DESD?! For mere material tris?! There are repercussions if you die in an avatar body that could-"

  " I DO IT?!"

  "...Yes... but it requires divinity."

  "Fuck."

Finally, after tless hours of tomfoolery, Ats slumbered in his bed. He would have one nasty hangover, even with his divine recovery.

After nearly shoving his own arm into the hearth, Wisp mao vince him to step away before saving the enviroal design as a preset.

Outside the summoned apartment's window, Wisp's form shifted into a grey mist, and a disapproving voice hummed softly.

"I must voice my distent with my ret assig."

Through the mist, its eyes rested on Ats's slumbering form.

"We should recycle this one and start fresh…"

  A pause.

"...Yes, but… I uand his luck stats are unusually high, but his behavior is subpar pared to the other Weavers."

  Another pause.

"Yes, I've withe insanity firsthand, and it is heless impressive. But luck runs out eventually. This one will tribute a few points to the Weaver System, at most."

  "…Uood."

The form morphed into a humanoid figure, then bato a bird, and then into the grey mist again.

"...Must I really show my true self for this duty- just to psychologically shift his behavior?"

The voice, ondrogynous, briefly shifted to a higher, femione before settling back to its inal one.

"Give me time at least, so that I don't have to i with… this."

Wisp chirped with disdain as drool spilled from Ats's mouth onto the pillow.

  "Thank you."
