Lu Zheng’s pace slowly increased until he was about to reach the exit in a minute. It only took him less than ten minutes.
He even began to walk in the center of the street, feeling the strange tranquility. It appeared that the two external members were the last members of the Scorching Blade Clan he would ever meet.
There was no inquisitive gaze directed at him, either. The street was simply empty.
It was so peaceful it made him uncomfortable.
In the end, he did not have a choice but to bear the ominous feeling slowly creeping him.
Once he turned to another street, he was instantly welcomed by the exit of the city. Normally, there were two wide passages intended for entrance and exit.
The Scorching Blade Clan was responsible for the entrance passage, collecting the entry fee from the people. The Azure Tide Clan was responsible for the exit passage, still collecting the exit fee from the people.
However, this time, Lu Zheng was startled to see an individual standing in the middle of the passage, seemingly waiting for something.
He was yawning, leaning his body to the wall that divided the two passages.
Despite his bulky physique and matured face, he appeared young, probably three years older than Lu Zheng.
Lu Zheng could feel an ominous aura radiating from him and he frowned.
He paused his footsteps and scrutinized him. He did not bother hiding, either. After all, a powerful possibly enemy like him could easily track his inquisitive gaze.
Lu Zheng saw the beast hide, seemingly coming from a white tiger, acting as his clothes. His heart skipped a beat.
His eyes narrowed. He was filled with fury.
He thought. So, the White Tiger Clan was behind the Scorching Blade Clan’s annihilation. To think that the only large-size clan in the continent took notice of our city. Despicable.
He knew, at this moment, that a battle was inevitable.
After all, he was fooled. It appeared that the Clan Head did not intend to make him leave in the first place.
Obviously, aside from these exits, the other three exits were also blocked by the Clan Elders. Perhaps, in one of them, he was there.
The only reason he called all the internal and external members in the clan headquarters was to minimize the casualties if he had indeed gone crazy.
The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.
Although it was all an assumption, he felt it was the most closer to the truth. Nevertheless, since he was already at it, he might, as well, try to deceive the cultivator from the White Tiger Clan.
He grumbled internally and thought. If it’s only a Clan Elder, I might be able to deceive them. To think I really have to fight against this beast?
While Lu Zheng began to walk towards him, Ravyn’s voice echoed inside his head.
Fighting against him is a suicide. He is in Adept rank. Also, he seemed to have possessed rather strong techniques and his talent is not bad. I can feel it from his breathing, his comprehension level is staggering. He might actually be a beast in human skin.
Lu Zheng frowned even more and replied in his mind, Yeah, the techniques of the White Tiger Clan referred to the mythical white tiger in the fantasy. Hence, their techniques are at the Grandmaster level.
The rank of the Internal techniques in the Grandmaster level is called Qi Transcendence Techniques, which obviously means their level of Qi manipulation has transcended to the point it affected their surroundings.
In other words, a Grandmaster could now create a domain out of their qi. Furthermore, compared to the Master cultivator, who could only manifest a partial domain, a Grandmaster could summon a complete domain.
Hence, the difference between the rank of the internal techniques determined the future of the clans.
Meanwhile, the rank of the External techniques in the Grandmaster level is called Mythical Combat Techniques.
Compared to the Legendary Combat Techniques rank, equaled to Master level, the Mythical Combat Techniques has seven stances. The seventh stance possessed a sure-kill technique, enabling the cultivator to instantly kill a Master rank, even if they were on the same rank.
It was also why Clan’s sizes depended on their exclusive techniques, both internal and external.
At this point, Lu Zheng was already aware that fighting the cultivator in front of him was akin to fighting three Clan Elders of the Scorching Blade Clan in the Adept rank at once!
As Lu Zheng began to walk closer to the cultivator wearing a white tiger skin, he slowly realized he was taller than him.
When it came to battles, height mattered.
The cultivator from the White Tiger Clan slowly opened his eyes, while crossing his arms. He let it remain half-open, as though he was feeling a bit sleepy.
He saw the silhouette of Lu Zheng and smirked.
He said, “I thought all the members were called to headquarters? Why are you here?”
Lu Zheng was surprised. He slowly walked towards him and said, “The announcement was vague. I was worried that the demon on the loose might take the chance to escape, so I have decided to guard the exits. Judging by the beast skin you are wearing, you are from the White Tiger Clan, right? Are you guarding the exit?”
The cultivator from the white tiger clan opened his right eye wide before returning it to the half-open state.
He replied, “Yeah, you’re astute. I’m Bai Yujin, meaning White Jade Brilliance.”
Lu Zheng nodded. He slowly walked towards him.
Bai Yujin continued, “Also, the Clan Head of the chicken clan is right. You know, he said that all his members would follow his orders as soon as it was directed from him. You clearly are the person you are describing. What was it again?”
He opened his eyes fully and grinned.
“Demon on the loose?”
Lu Zheng halted. He was surprised. He did not think that he got played instead.
His face frowned.
Bai Yujin said in a teasing voice, “I’m curious. Which do you think is stronger? A demon or a beast?”
