Pokémoer"Here are your Poké Balls."
"Thank you very much."
Paul politely accepted two Poké Balls from Nurse Joy, expressing his gratitude.
"o thank me. You've done a great job raising your Pokémon, but make sure to schedule their training sessions reasonably."
"Uood. I'll take care of it."
After nodding politely, Paul walked to the unication terminal avaible in every Pokémoer and dialed Reggie's number.
As the call ected, Reggie's face soon appeared on the s.
"Paul, how's your journey going these past few days? Where are you now?"
Reggie smiled warmly at the sight of his younger brother on the s.
"The journey's been fine. I'm in Jubilife City, getting ready to participate in a petition."
Paul responded with calm posure.
"A petition? I'm sure you'll do great," Reggie said, brimming with fiden Paul, even more so than Paul had in himself.
"The petition's still a bit away, so I'm pnning to do some interaining with my team. I'll need your help for that."
Paul wasn't just aiming to win the uping petition; he also wao prepare for his Pokémon's long-term growth.
"No problem. Just focus on doing your best in the petition. Once you're ready, I'll send the Pokémon over."
"Got it. I'll be waiting."
Paul showed the Poké Balls he had in hand before putting them into his pocket.
"If you need your Pokémon to learn new moves h specialized training, just send them bae anytime. Good luck with the petition."
"I will. Thanks."
After hanging up the call, Paul left the Pokémoer as usual, heading toward a quiet, uninhabited area outside the city.
For Paul, Pokémon training—aside from battles and petitions—was best done in peaceful, quiet pces.
The Training Grounds
Reag his destination, Paul took out two Poké Balls and tossed them.
"Bzzt-bzzt~"
"Roooar~"
An Elekid, standing fidently with its arms crossed, and an Ursaring, exuding an intimidating aura, emerged from the Poké Balls. One looked up with pride, while the azed down with dominance.
"For the wo days, both of you o learn new moves. Especially you, Ursaring—you must master it."
Seeing that both Pokémon were in good dition, Paul retrieved another Poké Ball that Reggie had sent over and released its oct.
"Blissey~!"
A Pokémon with a cheerful smile, radiating a sense of joy, emerged from the ball.
Its round, egg-shaped body had a pink upper half and white lower half, with a pou its belly holding a creamy-white egg.
Blissey—the healing Pokémon. Along with its pre-evolution, sey, it was known as Nurse Joy's trusted assistant in many regions.
Since Reggie's goal from the beginning had been to bee a Pokémon Breeder, Paul had suggested that he capture and raise a sey. Over time, it evolved into a Blissey.
"Blissey~!"
Blissey wasy-handed. In addition to the egg in its pouch, it carried a fiery red orb.
"This is Blissey. It'll be your teacher for learning new moves." Paul introduced Blissey while taking the orb from its pouch.
"Rooar~"
Having spent time with Paul, Ursaring nodded obediently, eager to learn new skills.
"Bzzt-bzzt~?"
Elekid, however, was momentarily stunned upon seeing Blissey. It tilted its head, looking at Paul and Blissey with a puzzled expression.
It wondered, Who's going to take care of the newborn Pokémon at the Day Care now that Blissey is here? And more importantly, what could this Pokémon possibly teach me?
"Before taking care of newborn Pokémon, Blissey worked at the Day Care as a move tutor. It has mastered teag methods for dozens of moves."
Paul immediately uood Elekid's s. To ensure smoother training ahead, he gave a brief expnation.
"Bzzt-bzzt?!"
"Rooar?!"
Dozens of moves?!
Elekid and Ursaring were both shocked.
Despite their fiden their own abilities, they had only mastered fewer than ten moves each. The thought of Blissey knowing how to teach dozehem in awe.
Their gazes toward Blissey turned fiery with excitement. They were eager to learn as much as possible, knowing it would make them stronger.
In truth, knowing how to teach dozens of moves didn't mean Blissey could perform them all. However, Paul saw o crify this detail.
"Blissey, teach Elekid Focus Bst first, then show Ursaring how to use Fire Punch."
"If you both master these moves quickly, I'll sider having Blissey teach you additional skills."
After giving his instrus, Paul stepped aside to let the three Pokémon i freely.
Training Pns
Teag Elekid Focus Bst would provide it with a ranged option against Ground-type oppos, a major weakness for Electric-types. With Focus Bst and Thunder, Elekid would have two reliable ranged moves.
As for Ursaring, Paul had no iion of having it abandon Hyper Beam for Focus Bst, as seen in the anime.
In this realistic world, if a Pokémon trained hard enough and became strong enough, it could mitigate or even eliminate a move's drawbacks.
For Ursaring, mastering Hyper Beam would mean redug the post-attack recovery time from four or five seds to just two or three—aually down to one sed or even none.
Paul's goal for teag Fire Punch was simple: he wanted Ursaring to master it to the point where it could burn itself at will.
Once Ursaring reached that level, it could trigger its Guts ability whenever necessary, signifitly boosting its strength.
Paul had alsed fie to send over a Fme Orb to assist in Ursaring's training.
In the Pokémon world, held items weren't as abundant or versatile as in games. Items like Utility Umbrels, Room Service, or Heavy-Duty Boots were rarely usable in battles.
If Ursaring could perfect Fire Punch, Paul could sider equipping it with other items, such as an Eviolite to boost its Defense and Special Defense by 50% while it remained unevolved.
Over the years, Paul had been colleg various useful held items and evolution tools for his Pokémon.
However, he hadn't found—or even heard of—the Peat Bloeeded to evolve Ursaring into Ursaluna.
The Eviolite, oher hand, was avaible as a reward for winning the Victory Cup Championship, making it aig goal for Paul.
