Chapter 79. Ratatatata.

After a short break, they teleported back to the 48th floor, Shila having kept the necklace in what she told Hilda was a ‘secret location.’

Hilda glanced about, finding the cultist on a beach chair relaxing under an umbrella despite the fact that the sun is nowhere in sight.

Hilda walked up to him, standing right beside him before kicking the chair, causing it to close with the cultist on it.

“That felt unnecessary,” He muttered softly, getting out and keeping the chair.

  “It was of great importance.”

  “How so?”

“Annoying you gives me motivation to work.”

The cultist stared at Hilda for a couple seconds before turning away in silence, walking away to a table that suddenly came out of the floor.

  “What's that?”

The cultist stayed silent, drawing something as a handgun suddenly appeared on the table.

“Dodge. That's the task this time.”

  “Wha—”

Hilda's sentence was cut short by the sound and feeling of a bullet flying by, grazing her cheek.

“You're bleeding,” Shila muttered from behind.

“That's called stating the obvious. Can I just kill this guy?”

“Best not to, I know you've killed level 400s before and 500s but this guy isn't a monster and does have futuristic equipment.”

  “True…”

Hilda dodged as her sixth sense activated, the bullet moving faster than she could do so, grazing her arm this time.

“What? Shouldn't a bullet be easy to dodge?”

“If you were on earth yeah, but please remember, this is a gun by a weird futuristic crafting table so god knows what it could do.”

  “Tsk…”

Hilda kept dodging as the bullets grazed her every time, their speed slowly increasing before Hilda was forced to start teleporting to properly dodge as they began to target more vital locations.

Shila clinged onto Hilda's back as she muttered into her ear.“Hilda, try to dodge by predicting where he's going to shoot.”

“I'm not a prophet!” She responded by shouting, pulling Shila onto her back properly.

*Obviously! I mean watch his gun! His damn bullets only move in a straight line so just watch his gun!”

“Oh.” Hilda muttered, dodging another shot, “Right, that makes a lot more sense.”

Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

After a while of dodging, slowly getting more used to it, the cultist let out a small smirk from under his hood, letting Hilda rest temporarily.

“Is it over?” She wiped the remaining blood off her cheek.

He remained silent before walking to the table once again, drawing yet another weapon.

  “You gotta be kidding…”

Hilda teleported out of the way as dozens of bullets began to fly in her direction.

“How the hell is a mini gun fair?!”

Hilda kept dodging, the trail of bullets just right behind her, occasionally teleporting whenever sixth sense had activated.

The cultist suddenly began to make sound effects for the oddly quiet minigun “Ratatatata.”

“Ahhh!! You better pray I don't kill you once I get strong enough!!!”

Hilda suddenly felt a slight rap on her shoulders as she glanced at Shila while still running.

“Hilda, can I upgrade my field magic? It'll be able to help until I'm out of mana.”

  “Sure, just do it!”

Shila upgraded it as she quickly got off Hilda's back and activated it the it's maximum potential, the bullets all freezing mid-air.

  “Shila, you're the best!”

“Hilda… 10 percent of my mana is out already… please think of an idea?”

Hilda quickly opened the shop, buying mana potions and suddenly started feeding Shila, surprising her as she tried to drink it as fast as possible, some dripping down onto the ground.

After an hour of drinking, Shila was completely full of mana potions as a wall of bullets remained at the front of the shield, frozen mid-air before falling onto the ground as the field was reduced to its minimum.

  “Hilda… I think I need the toilet…”

“You aren't even a living organism, I thought you didn't need to pee?”

  “Rude but… I have no clue… I feel like crap….”

Shila laid onto the ground as the cultist just stared, the minigun in his hands.

“Well, if you're gonna cheat, let us proceed to the last part.”

  “What?”

He clapped his hands as lasers came out of the walls, 9 on each wall.

  “What…?”

“Oh, don't worry, they shoot randomly so you can still dodge.”

  “...”

The lasers began to aim slowly as Hilda underestimated them.

  “Oh, well, this'll be eas—”

The lasers fired, bouncing off the walls and burning some of Hilda's hair.

  “They bounce?!”

Hilda looked down at Shila who by some miracle was still in one piece before carrying her back onto her back.

Hilda kept trying to estimate the estimated angle they would bounce off of just barely dodging each round of lasers.

Another set of lasers emerged from the walls, aiming everywhere as Hilda panicked.

  “What the hell is this?!”

  “Screw it, screw you!”

Hilda angrily turned to the cultist was who safe in a shield before adding mana to increase her sight and touch, adding as much as possible without causing injuries.

The sudden extreme sensations nearly overwhelmed her as she forced herself to concentrate.

“Come on, relax, I have around 10 seconds, the lasers each bounce around 3 times at most, so…”

Hilda tueneher head, her eyes flying from each laser to the room’s surfaces, trying her best to guess the direction.

“Screw it, I have no time! The corner is probably the safest based on the shitty calculations I just made anyways!”

Hilda ran to the corner, turning around, her back against the wall to keep Shila safe.

The lasers fired as most missed, Hilda relaxing slightly as a result before feeling a massive burning pain in her hand as she glanced at it, trying to find the source.

“Fuck!” She bought a healing potion and poured it onto her hand which was now missing a small chunk of itself along with her ring and pinky finger.

The fingers grew back in time as Shila tried to help but didn't have enough mana. “Sorry Hilda…”

“Not your fault, and not the point at all right now.”

The lasers aimed once again, “tsk…”

She immediately began to try to estimate it but saw the lasers powering it much faster than before as she prepared to be killed, depending on her achievement ‘survivor’ to survive.

  Notification,

Skill ‘absolute calculation’ has been obtained due to completion of requirement.

“What?” Hilda looked around as red lines appeared all around whenever she looked at a new laser.

Shila pointed at the red lines Hilda began to see suddenly, “Those are estimates.” they only appear if you experienced it before and know where the source is along with the factors affecting it, such as the walls it could bounce off of.”

“Oh?” Hilda thought carefully about how she could combine the new skill she just obtained with sixth sense before looking up, finding a new laser emerge above her head, prepared to send a laser right into her face by deflecting off the wall opposite her as she dodged by tilting her head to the right, more hair getting burnt as a result
