Hilda waits for ‘Lela’ to sleep before walking up to her mother's room, waiting outside the door, listening to make sure of the lack of any potential ‘sounds’ before using mental magic as strong as she can.
“Hilda, did you potentially forget that we have to minimize the damage to the doppelganger?”
“Nope, but they're not taking damage are they?”
“Physically not but…”
“Good, that means I have screwed the conditions right?”
“Well.”
“See? All's fine.”
“...”
“Hilda, are you a masochist or is it just those two in particular you enjoy hearing in pain?”
“Both?”
“Well, at least you're honest about it.”
“Honestly is the best poli—”
“Oh, shut the fuck up and go in already. You only focus on those sayings and quotes when it benefits you.”
“Truth hurts?”
“Shut the… screw it… just go in.”
“Sure.”
Hilda steps on her face despite the two nearly naked people in front of her, both fainted with one being her mother and another being… god knows who?
“Mom, can I?”
“Just a… finger from each. Shila, that works… right?”
“Well, I suppose that damage is minimal enough.”
“Shila, I choose you!”
“What?”
“Oh yea, wrong person. Jamine, I choose you!”
“Mom, why did you confuse me with sis?”
“Look similar.”
“No no no Hilda. There's officially three people who look like you so you're getting confused.”
“... A year ago, I did not expect to have 3. 3! Little mes. And you know that's bad since you don't usually hear the word ‘me’ with an ‘s’ at the back.”
“Mom! I knew you would replace me!”
Jamine runs off crying.
“Oh come on! You're just acting dramatic to get what you want…”
Hilda watches speechless as Jamine keeps running away, leaving massive holes in the ground as she doesn't bother to reduce her acidity before turning to Shila.
“So… either you deal with the two idiots here or…”
If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
Hilda points in the direction Jamine ran off along with her mother and the guy on the ground as Shila quickly runs off to Jamine.
“... Well, I can't blame her, I don't really want to deal with this either.”
Hilda uses mental magic on their fingers, using conversion magic next, intending to blow up a random finger of theirs.
Splat!
“Oops…”
Hilda looks down at their hands or lack thereof.
“I… should control the amount of mental damage a bit huh?”
Hilda goes to their limp bodies, checking their wrist and finding blood, only blood. A complete lack of any of the same slimy substance.
“Fuck.”
Hilda teleports downstairs, finding a blue but not slimy lela there.
“Shila, get up?”
She slowly turns over, smiling nervously.
“So… the condition is not to kill the doppelganger. Okay?”
“Where” Hilda asks, forcing a smile on her face, looking over at the window as Shila points towards it, finding Lela running away.
“Thought you say it wouldn't be her twice in a row?”
“No. I said it probably wouldn't.”
Hilda sighs, teleporting in front of ‘Lela’, making her stumble backwards and falling.
“So… was it fun?”
Hilda watches as the ‘Lela’ quickly shakes her head.
“So… I'm just told to capture you or something. Okay?”
‘Lela’ tries to run, making Hilda sigh as she uses a mental attack on her leg, making her fall down immediately in pain.
“What bad luck huh? To be with this appearance. Hey, please tell me why you chose this.”
Hilda watches as the ‘Lela’ starts shaking her head again.
“Hey! Start talking at least, even if it's just to say no.”
‘Lela’ starts shaking her head again.
“Hey! Either you start talking or you turn into a snack for Lela!”
“Fine! That shitty boss made me!”
“Boss? The guide?”
“Does it matter what you call him?! How about a truce huh? Just let me go okay?”
“Why should I? Also, turn back into your original form. Whatever that is.”
The doppelganger starts turning into a blue little slime, smaller than Hilda's head.
“Uh… can you still talk?”
“Yea?”
“Good. You prefer pain or death?”
“Neither? But pain would be better.”
“good, you can regenerate right?”
“A bit… why?”
The doppelganger starts sounding slightly nervous as Hilda forces a smile.
“Good… so… don't mind me, okay?”
“Huh?”
Hilda rips off a piece of its body, with no reaction from it.
“Oh yea, lucky you. Forgot you guys have no reaction to pain unless it's from magic right?”
“Yea?”
“Good.”
Hilda picks the doppelganger up, holding it up in her fist as she teleports back to the home, throwing it the Jamine, confusing her and scaring the doppelganger as it tries to struggle out to no avail.
“New food source, now stop acting dramatic. You can feel what I feel, so… I can feel partially what you feel too. Shila taught you that didn't she?”
“Maybe???”
“Bad girl.”
“:(“
“...”
“Mom, can I eat?”
“Not the whole thing, just bite a couple pieces off of it.”
“What! Wait! If she bites directly, the acidity will hurt!”
“Oh yea, other doppelgangers can hurt each other. Well Jamine, do what you want with me.”
Jamine looks at the doppelganger, ripping off a small piece of it before eating it happily.
“Why are you suddenly acting kind?”
“She's acting kind because she knows that my healing will be slowed if she bites directly due to the increased acidity in her mouth due to subconsciously increasing it!”
“Oh.”
“What's your name?”
“Can't you just call me Le—”
Hilda glares at it.
“... How about—”
“Snackie.”
“What?”
“That's what I'm calling you from now, you're officially female if you didn't consider yourself female before.”
“Why?”
“Because there's 2 little mes who are female. A third seems to fit in nicely.”
“... Sure.”
“Hey Shila, what's the requirement for clearing this level?”
“You already did. Just letting you vent your anger just now since I didn't want to have to deal with it.”
“Makes sense… I guess? Just send me already.”
“Sure.”
Shila sends them to the 10th floor where she ends up back in the ruins of the city with the name that she forgot.
“Oh yea, a beautiful place.”
“You call anywhere that's quiet and not scary beautiful.”
“Hilda grabs Snackie from Jamine, causing Jamine to get annoyed as Hilda bites Snackie, annoying Jamine further.
“Sis! Mom is stealing my snack!”
“I'm not, just testing what you like so much about this thing.”
“I'm not a thing!”
“You’re what I saw you are so shut it.”
“...”
“Jamine. Isn't your mom mean?”
“Yea! Mom is mean!”
“What the hell…”
Hilda passes Snackie back to Jamine as she snatches it back, annoyed at Hilda.
“Hmph!”
“Seriously? I already returned it!”
“Hmph!”
“Fine, don't talk to me.”
“Jamine, let's attack your mom as revenge.”
“Yea!”
“What the hell is this? A coup?”
“Yea!
“Yea!” Jamine repeats after Jamine, not knowing what she even agreed with.
“Brats.”
“...”
“...”
They both teleport into the system, irritated, leaving snackie behind as she can't go in with them.
“Annoying…”
