Remnants of the Fire 12

Walking into her home, Sandie pced the shopping bags down. She made her way to the living room and caught a fright when she saw her children sitting on the couch, all three of them, well Adalynn, cradled in her wet nurses arms while Jason and Elijah were eating burgers.

Her eyes widened. She was ready to yell at them when she saw her children looking at someone behind her. Turning to see who it was, her heart sank. Gun was walking down the steps wearing all bck from neck to toe.

He smiled at her, “Welcome home Miss Sandie, the children and I have been waiting five hours for you.”

Her eyes widened. She turned to her children, but they weren’t there. The wet nurse led them outside with perfect timing. Turning back to him, she asked nervously, “Oh Gun, if I knew you were coming, I wouldn’t have kept you.”

He walked past her to the couch and sat down, crossing one leg over the other. “Have a seat. We have much to talk about.”

She sat down cautiously and gnced at him. Fixing her skirt, as she tried to calm her heart, she looked at him and again, her body shivered. “So, what brings you here?”

“Isn’t it obvious? I’m here to visit the children, its been months, almost a year and yet here when I arrive I hear the children were moved out. Jason and Elijah are in boarding school and Adalynn? You left your fucking baby with the nurse and told her to take her home?”

Grabbing the take away box on the table, he threw it at her face, yelling, “You fucking sent your baby to live with strangers! What the fuck is this house here for? For who? For you?”

She brushed her hair behind her ears and wiped her face. Gring at him, she asked, “And who the fuck do you think you are to come in here and demand shit?”

“Demand shit? Are you fucking joking? I came here because some bitch thought she could turn the company upside down all for some petty change? Did you really think I wouldn’t find out about this bullshit arrangement you’ve got going on here? Oh, and don’t try lying to me. Jason told me everything. You know, unlike you, he actually believes that I’m here working my butt off to make sure you four are fed and taken care of. That you are well off, but look what you go and do, you stab your own father in the back.”

  “I did no such thing!”

“Then what about King? Did you stab him in the back?”

  “I never did!”

  “So what? I’m the problem?”

  “Yes, you are!”

“Then why did Kai train me to take his pce and not you?”

“That’s because…” She tried to think of a reason, but nothing came forward, only her mishaps in life.

Seeing the tears form in her eyes, he smirked, “That’s right sweety, you’re unstable and incapable of walking in your father’s steps or your dear Kai’s footsteps.”

“That isn’t true. If only they let me, then I could have learned. All Kai ever wanted was for me to stay home and be a good little mother for his children.”

  “His children?”

She scoffed, “Yes, his children, don’t be fooled, Gun. Your dear boyfriend fucked me, making sure that those children came into this world.”

Gun frowned. According to his memories, Kai said that he didn’t sleep with her and she wanted the children.

Laughing, she stood up. Folding her arms, she stared down at him, saying, “He wasn’t as innocent as he seemed, far from it actually. He knew I wasn’t well, but when I crawled into his arms at night, he made sure to hug me as tight as day and when I asked him to make the pain go away and all the dirty memories I had. He was more than willing to help his poor sister and had his way with me doing EXACTLY what I asked and when it came to having children, he was more than willing to, but then you came along and ruined everything. I was fine with his other bitches. They’d come and go, but then you! You just had to swindle your way into his life demanding his attention, taking it away from me and OUR children! And look what you went and did. You got him killed and for what? Now you’re taking over the company and family businesses.”

He watched her pace around with her exaggerated expressions and talkative hands. Tears were in her eyes, but she looked hysterical, almost as if she was speaking the truth. AND if she is speaking the truth, that means Kai slept with her while they were together.

Wiping away his tears, he said, “I’m sending you to go for an evaluation. The boys will go to another school and I will hire someone competent to look after them. And Adalynn, she’ll stay with the wet nurse she already knows. So now Sandie, before we take that step, mind telling me now before a professional does, why are you acting like an evil bitch?”

Sandie was visibly shaking as she stared at him. His words were like a knife to her heart. “You can’t take my children away from me. You won’t!”

“And why won’t I? I’m their legal guardian, according to the papers.”

  “Papers? What papers?”

Standing up, he fixed his bzer, saying, “Oh come now, you couldn’t be that stupid. I sent papers here for you to sign with Troy. You handed over the children to me the day you become mentally unstable.”

“Papers? Troy?” Her eyes darted around, trying to recall when she signed papers, but Troy had been here too many times and she signed so many papers. Rushing to him, she got on her knees, pulling at his clothes and begging, “No, no, you can’t take my children from me. They’re all I have.”

“If they are all you have, then why did you send them away? You entrusted your kids into the hands of people capable of selling them off to our enemies or worse, they could have been killed and then what will you tell Kai in the afterlife? You’re pathetic and you don’t deserve those children.”

He scoffed, adding, “And here I thought you and I could move on with his memories and raise the children together, but no, you went and stabbed me in the back for money. Looks like everything you want will be taken out from under you.”

  “Gun no!”

“I’m done with you. Go beg by someone who’ll care.”
