45 Hatching the Future & Touching the Past

Instead of just waiting around for the spiky gray egg to hatch I got started on the Pokemon. To do that, I would need a few things. Heading to the bedroom, I grabbed my storage pouch for DS games. If I wanted to reach in and grab an egg, I would have to use something from at least the 3D era. As it turned out, I already had everything I needed in Pokemon Y. I had a completed Pokedex and a special shiny Ditto with perfect IVs.

I admit I was pointlessly meticulous about this, but if their stats affected their capabilities once they were out of the game, this is well warranted.

That said, even with what I have here, I'm not going to be able to remove the eggs from the 3DS' tiny screen. I would need something much bigger. For that, I would need a 3DS with a capture card, which I could use to remove the eggs from the video feed on my computer, and if that’s not big enough, the TV is a st resort.

Finding one online was a cinch, next was setting up a Porygon, my current target. After getting one with the right nature, I started collecting and hatching eggs and saving intermittently around every set or so throughout the process. It took about 20 minutes before I had one with perfect stats. After confirming its stats, I reset the game to before it hatched and started running around for the hatching screen to appear. Once the egg hatching sequence appeared I tried to remove it from the ptop screen but found that it was barely too wide. Not wanting to force it through I put it back inside and removed it from the TV.

After removing the egg from the TV, it had changed from the in-game model. It was bigger than an ostrich or a kiwi egg while being a little smaller than the gray sitting on the table nearby. More striking than that was the biggest change, going from the default egg model of an off-white egg with green spots to a completely pink and blue crystal divided equally in half at the midpoint. With the top being pink and the bottom blue. It was also heavy for its size (~80 lbs).

Pcing the egg down on the couch I went looking for some Pokeballs. Pcing about a dozen of them on the table. (I felt my inner child bouncing off the walls internally).

All that was left to do was wait, so I continued the game. With the egg removed, I clicked out of the now empty cutscene and noticed that after the egg was extracted it had disappeared from my party, the slot was empty.

I continued hatching some more eggs in the game while I waited.

A few minutes ter while I was in the middle of the next egg collection run, the first of the two started to hatch. A bright glow had started shining from the pink and blue crystal egg. It transformed into a bright light before said light reformed into a peculiar blocky creature.

A pink polyhedral body with a blue front and simirly blue triangur prism feet. On its back or tail end was a blue rectangur prism acting as a tail. As you looked over the unnatural figure, your eyes would eventually be drawn toward the most unnatural and strange formation at the center of its chest. It seems to be explicitly designed for something. From there you would notice that the 'skin' or its surface was covered in many small cells that fshed sending pulses around. They would fsh in one leg and swiftly move around the body. Following a pattern like energy pulsing through a circuit. From there I was drawn towards its most striking feature, its pink polyhedral head that ends in a blue beak and its hexagonal eyes. They were strange, seemingly made through the same cells that constituted the rest of its body but gave its otherwise pristine polyhedral head a sense of depth (even though there wasn't any to speak of).

Looking at its strange robotic eyes, they appeared to be scanning the room as the pupils darted around. There was a calm silence after it hatched spending a few moments floating while scanning the room with its blocky body bobbing back and forth before its beak opened releasing a strange loud synthetic call.

*Brinng Dnig Rinnng!!!* (Its legs spun around rapidly as it called).

[colpse]"Yeah, yeah. In the ball with ya." I said tossing one of the Pokeballs at the Porygon. As the ball met its glossy surface it reverted into the same energy that it had just formed from before the ball opened and it was sucked inside. Within less than a second after the energy was contained a *DING!* echoed throughout the room.

"Now to keep you from being an annoyance I'll put you in storage." I would like to sleep at some point tonight. Pcing the Pokeball into one of the images on my desktop, it wouldn’t be going anywhere.

I continued hatching more eggs in-game while waiting for the gray egg to hatch. I had a couple more with perfect stats that I could use if needed. Once I finished all the Porygon, I moved on and started breeding some Beldum.

After another 40 minutes of breeding, I checked the gray egg again. Picking up the spiky egg, I looked it over and couldn't find any clues. It wasn't hatching. Putting it back on the table, it seemed I needed to burn some more time doing something that wasn’t going to kill me or keep me trapped falling for eternity...

Looking back through the manual, there's still lots of work to be done. But I didn't feel like adding another section right now. The biggest section would be mediums because I need to write down what happens with each one and the unique interactions. The best way to deal with rge problems is to break them down into smaller bite-sized pieces. I already know a little about Photos, Videos, and Games. But I haven't entered things like Games or Comics, I've intentionally stayed away from Fiction. Seeing that Ki may or may not persist inside a world that rejects it, that may have been a smarter idea than I first believed.

I wanted to do something simple, that wouldn’t take too much time. Then I got thinking, "A medium I hadn’t thought to use before?" I asked myself out loud. “Would a Cave Painting work...?” Since they are borderline lines on a wall, they shouldn’t... But if they have enough detail, they might pass the minimum viability threshold. After a search, I arrived at my first testing site; The Cueva de s Manos, Argentina.

It was mid-day given the medium I used and the crew that had recorded the video was standing motionless nearby. Following the rocky walls and the people standing around, I found the cave. I wasn't even inside before I found the wall covered in handprints. Some were full while some were negative.

[colpse]Pcing my hand atop one of the many handprints on the walls' surface, I could tell instantaneously that it was different. Unlike other Mediums, it kept the rocky texture. But as I pressed my hand into the rock wall, it was like hard cy.

Forcing my arm into the rock wall took a lot more effort than I want to admit. The ease I could enter other mediums was a blessing by comparison and as my hand slowly entered, I felt constricting pressure surrounding it. The inner space must be tiny too.

"Well..." After forcing my hand into the rock wall, I was about to confirm my findings and leave, "!?!" but I suddenly felt something touch my hand on the Otherside. My hand came to a stop inside, "What...?" I felt something else touching my hand. Feeling around on the inside they were, "hands...?"

I froze as I felt several different hands touching me. And if that wasn't freaky enough,

  "??W?e? ?w?e?re? ?h?e?...r?e..."

Pinching myself with my free hand, I wasn't hallucinating I just heard a conglomeration of voices inside my head. None of them were in English but all the same, I understood what I heard.

  "We Were Here..."

There must have been hundreds of them...

  "??W?e? ?w?e??r?e-"

Cutting the st message from a time long passed short I removed my hand from the wall.

Looking at said hand, "The hell even is my ability?" Out of everything else, this one takes the cake as being the weirdest effect so far. I can accept digital mediums but voices from the past talking to me through a cave painting?

"Maybe I've gone nuts?" Pinching myself again I really wasn't hallucinating. "Nope," Still facing the rock wall and feeling the heat of the midday sun shining down on me. Shaking my head I turned away from the rock wall, looking over the ndscape and the people that dotted it remaining still and timeless. "Though I was probably already nuts to begin with..."

Holding out my hand for the screen to come towards me (It really does seem slightly faster now).

Passing through the screen I once again arrived inside the capsule house.

Once back home I checked to see that the gray egg still hadn't hatched. "I guess I have some anime to watch while I wait." I spent the next couple hours waiting for the egg to hatch watching Digimon Ghost Game. By the time I hit episode 10, "Why isn’t it hatching?" Did I need to do something? How do you hatch a digiegg?

In some games they just hatched, in others, you had to press a button, but how do you hatch one in real life? After spending a while searching, I eventually found a clip from the Digimon Adventures anime, "I just have to rub it? Like a genie’s mp?"

Picking up the spiky gray egg I pet the shell between some spikes for a little bit before hearing a cracking noise (Really?) seeing that it worked, I continued rubbing the egg as cracks formed on its surface. One of the spikes fell off and part of the shell caved in, out from the crack popped a purple 'Jellyfish' with a single red eye, 8 tentacles, and two 'ears' on the top of its squishy purple body.

[colpse]Looking down at the little guy, “AWA!” The little jellyfish made a noise, “Well, aren’t you cute?” Gently picking it up and out of the egg with both hands I set it down on the table. “AWA!” it cried again this time blowing rge bubbles from its eye. "There's no need for that," I said as I petted its squishy 'head' trying to avoid poking its eye. It was probably just being defensive.

It had spent a long time in the egg..."Are you hungry?"

“AWA!” It cried again. Without bubbles this time.

“Right, how am I going to feed you? Do you eat meat?" Taking out a rge pte of steak, it had already jumped onto the pte before I even set it down on the table. Its tiny body sat atop the rge piece of meat, munching away. It seemed to be loving life already.

While it ate, I spent some time looking it up: Kuramon.

  Moves:

SpoilerGre Eye - Produces a foamy ball from its eye/Produces a fireball from its eye.Blood Eye - Confuses the enemy.Awa - Spits bubbles from its eye.[colpse]Looking through some of the other information I has appeared in quite a number of times in various media throughout the years. Typically as an antagonist, they had a propensity towards creating computer viruses and multiplies like a virus within the Network.

Looking back at the purple orb, having eaten enough to the point its little body was bloated it purred on top of the Pte. This little guy could eat the entire internet... "But it's still just a baby," I told myself seeing its bloated body.

"Ok, it's time for bed," I said holding up the Digivice-V on my wrist. Pressing the bottom button and sucking Kuramon inside. "You can py around with me tomorrow."

Finally... James created life it only took 45 chapters... I wonder how copyright w would apply to this?

Also in the anime, Pokemon eggs don’t hatch or crack (except Togipi) they spontaneously morph. Makes them seem more like cradles than eggs... Don't it?
