Chapter 8: Chain Vilins Are Great!"So what if I do?", I questioned back.
"Then taste your punishment!", he screamed before rushing towards me.
'I guess the father is the most irrational of them all.', I mused, before writing:
{In a three-meter radius around me there is a five-centimetre big barrier.}
He wasn't perturbed by this and continued to attack, hitting the barrier that I conjured with Mana covering his hand. Unfortunately for him, the barrier was too strong, and he instead hurt himself.
I then calmly wrote:
{A 100?C temperature fire will burn the hand attacking me.}
He immediately strengthened the Mana around his hand, but although it slightly protected him, it did not do much, only preventing his hand from deforming under the heat.
Because of the pain, however, he was forced to kneel in front of me.
Then I wrote:
{The one before me can only move his head.}, before cancelling the previous two spells. Finally, I wrote:
{The one before me will get spped on his face by an invisible hand every second, hitting his right and left cheek alternately.}
Now in front of me, there was this funny scene of the city lord kneeling and getting hit by an invisible hand every second, making his head snap to one side and then the other alternately.
Meanwhile, he would always try to scream something only to be interrupted by a sp once again.
"You basta—" *sp*
"Release m—" *sp*
"Stop th—" *sp*
"No—" *sp*
"I beg y—" *sp*
"Plea—" *sp*
As he was spped over and over again, I listened to the conversations of the viewers.
"Even the Lord was beaten?!"
"And with magic too!"
"Does that mean he's a Mage?!"
"Seems like it."
"That means he's absolutely terrifying! A Mage beating Warriors in a physical fight!"
"And did you see how effortlessly he beat the lord?"
"Let's cheer for him!"
"But we still don't know his name!"
"Let's ask him! Great hero! Could you please tell us your name?"
Hearing that I answered:
"I'm Batman!"
"But you didn't use a bat, and instead beat them up barehanded! And you're a mage! Isn't there no better name for you?"
"Fair point.", I agreed, "Then call me the face-spping maniac"
At that point, everyone started shouting loudly.
"""FACE-SLAPPING MANIAC!!!"""
"""FACE-SLAPPING MANIAC!!!"""
"""FACE-SLAPPING MANIAC!!!"""
"Everyone calm down a bit! The best is still to come!", I shouted and the crowd calmed.
"Let's have some fun, shall we!", I shouted, before writing something with Mana.
{Every bet I made today will be fulfilled now.}
This spell forcibly made two people who made a bet fulfil it. It was one of the reasons, why a neutral mage was often invited to big bets.
Normally it would cost an enormous amount of Mana to control a being. Far more than making them just unable to move. This spell, however, is an exception. That is because the suppression of the rules of the world will be far smaller when the magic spell just forces a previously made bet to be fulfilled.
And so against their will, two people moved into the arena. This was followed by another four people who came up with their own free will.
"Oh, I nearly forgot about you guys.", I said, looking at the four people who accompanied that young master to the hotel earlier that day.
Hearing this, their faces crumpled a bit, before they quickly composed themselves. It seemed like those four had a leader, probably the one with the best background in that group.
"I'm Peng Yuchen, the young master of the Peng family. Would you be willing to spare my friend for my sake?"
At this, I decided to listen to the nearby NPCs. After all, who has more knowledge of the young masters than the NPCs spectating the battle.
Also, yes, you read right. For some reason, everyone in this world is using Chinese names. But I guess that's an essential part of the cultivation world. Without it, it might as well not be a cultivation world.
Unfortunately, it had the side effect that I was bad at remembering the names when I was not in the white space. Thus I always had to ask the consciousness that stayed in the white space for the name.
"What?! It's Peng Yuchen!"
"Who's that?"
"A genius Warrior that is said to have reached the third core at the age of seventeen, a year ago! Furthermore, he is the young master of the Peng family, one of the three big families in the Longhua city!"
Hearing that, I felt my own cores and felt six of them.
'Is three cores at eighteen really that good? Or are we talking about different things? If that's not it, wouldn't it cause quite a stir when information about a six-core ten-year-old surfaces?'
In this world, the strength of Warriors is determined by the number of their cores and the strength of Mages by the number of their circles.
Now it is impossible to create a second core or circle when the first one isn't complete. For some reason, presumably a rule of the world, after one has put enough Magicules together to form a core or circle, that core or circle becomes autonomous.
First of all, it prevents the pull, that Magicules normally have, making the formation of a new core or circle possible.
Second of all, for Mages, it makes the movement of the Magicules totally automatic, meaning the Mage doesn't have to keep them under control anymore.
With my core, I was still technically considered a mage by the world, meaning that the Magicules would still move after the completion, but because of the core form, I'm required to get an amount of Magicules equal to a Warrior. This is important because a Mage generally requires fewer Magicules than a Warrior needs to complete their core, to complete their circle.
By the way, the first young master had only one core, not even complete, the young dy had two full cores complete and the city lord had three cores barely complete.
In other words, this guy was stronger than all of them, if only by a small margin.
Back to the conversation. As I was contempting, the young master was already kneeling and about to lick the ground.
It was then that I answered:
"No."
"You fucker aren't giving me face?! Then let's see if you can bear the consequences!", he said before turning around with his friends.
To that I only had one answer:
"Who said you could go?"
