A year ago the world as it was, ended. A virus, discovered in rural America and in spite of the world''''s best efforts, quickly spread, causing the collapse of society in it''''s wake. This airborne disease was unlike any known previously, getting infected was a guaranteed death sentence and those who died soon awoke again as mindless zombies who would kill and infect those who remained. Jade was one of the lucky few percent of the world who were immune to the airborne strain of this disease; better yet, as if by some miracle her immediate family were too. Joining up with their surviving neighbours and any other survivors who had joined up, they had fortified and survived the start of the outbreak in their cul-de-sac. But with easy loot running dry as the months tick by and a father in constant chronic pain; Jade scavenges a house with something far more dangerous inside that would change her life and that of everyone around her, even more than it already had. *** My first attempt at writing a story, constructive feedback is always welcome and pointing out any errors is also appreciated.
