Ashokan continued to squeeze, but nothing happened. Jonathan reached up and grabbed the Circle Lord’s arm, his own hand looking tiny in comparison. His other hand flashed out to block one of the Hegemon’s beams with a buckler of Voidlight.
He tightened his grip on Ashokan and injected the pure flames of the Void into the monster’s flesh. Purple veins spread up the centaur’s arm. Before Ashokan could do anything, they detonated, blasting his entire arm apart. Jonathan, now freed, turned towards the Stillborn Hegemon. With his compatriot stumbling back from the sudden loss of his arm, the Duke of Cessation was Jonathan’s sole target. This time, when he struck, Jonathan knew that he had to be decisive.
His normal resources were running low, but the Void was eternal. He drew upon it to supplement his Divinity. As he did so, he realized something. There was practically no limit to using Smite anymore. Or rather, as it was called now, Wrath of the Void. Because of his limitless elemental energy reserves, his Divinity would never cease.
“I guess it’s finally time for you to die,” Jonathan said matter of factly as he streaked towards the Stillborn Hegemon. “You might have been born still, but you’ll die running.”
True to his words, the undead turned tail and fled. His speed wasn’t up to par with Jonathan’s though, and before long he faltered. Jonathan raced behind him, his entire body burning with purple fire. His eyes were like violet stars, twinkling in the darkness of his helmet. Both fists were covered in the Void, eating away at reality itself.
Jonathan punched the Hegemon, one final leap taking him all the way to the undead. One strike obliterated the monster’s lower body, the force angled down into the ground. The second blasted his torso apart, revealing a shrunken, baby-like figure cowering in the center of the comically oversized armor. Jonathan’s lip curled in disgust at the shriveled fetus. With a snap of his fingers, a wave of destruction crashed in from all directions, obliterating the creature where it lay. Another Circle Lord was dead.

Ashokan let out a cry of rage, already galloping towards Jonathan. However, as the weight of levels and the upgrade to his Hellbreaker title sank in, Jonathan found himself ascending to new heights of strength while his foe remained on the ground.
He strode towards the charging Circle Lord, each step burning the ground as the fires of the end rampaged across his body. His fists clenched with twinned sonic booms, before filling with the might of his element and Divinity. Even as Ashokan readied his club, the weapon blazing with the yellow light of the Earth, Jonathan was already punching.
Ashokan’s weapon grew in weight until it was heavier than a mountain, gravity tugging at the world around it. It was a subtle, but devastating effect. Jonathan simply kept walking.
He kicked off the ground, accelerating to such speeds that the air around him caught fire. Both he and Ashokan struck at the same time, their attacks heading straight towards one another. There was a sharp crack, and a moment later, Jonathan was standing behind the Circle Lord, his fist still clenched. His left arm was utterly shattered, pulped against his torso. However, the damage done to Ashokan was far worse.
A dinner plate sized hole had been blasted through the Circle Lord’s chest, through which the sun shone as the centaur teetered backwards. Jonathan whipped around, and with a final slash of his palm, he broke the monster’s neck. A blade of the Void finished the job, and Ashokan fell in two halves.
Only then did Jonathan opened his System messages.
